The views from our room over the sea were lovely and the location was good for exploring Mull. The room was a nice size and clean. The beds were comfortable, they provided extra pillows and warm duvets. Collecting the key was easy. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped..
The room (and lodge as a whole) were very cold. The radiator was tiny and we had to manually boost it several times to heat the room up to a nice temperature. The lounge was a little warmer but still chilly.

The Arle lodge had good sized rooms and a well equipped kitchen. I would describe it as school summer camp or hostel style accommodations. The beds were fine, the bathroom was well sized and alright.
The mattresses weren't the best, the shower drain was clogged and the Overall look and feel of the lodge is quite dated. That is fine for a cheaper hostel, but at 120 pounds a night I'm paying Hotel prices for hostel comfort, and that's where the equation doesn't work for me. And I know it's an island and I know there are more and more tourists. But that still bumps this down to more of a mixed bag for me.
