Highland Basecamp

This place is amazing. Firstly sense of place - beautiful. Value for money good. Large kitchen area with 3 hobs, 2 micros, ans ovens ans large communal eating area. Bunk rooms compact, comfortable with great shower room. We will defo come back.

Clean, comfortable, well thought out accommodation. Good value for the money charged. Bunk beds and a miniature wetroom / bathroom. Well equipped but small and user friendly kitchen area, plus seating for eating and sofas for sprawling. Good communication to let me know how to access my room. Towels and face flannel provided at no extra charge. Location handy for the ferry with the west pier and the sand mine, the café, the shop and a restaurant all in easy walking distance.

Handy for the Corran ferry, serviceable for a night

This seems to have been built / refurbished quite recently, but in a very cheap and slap dash fashion. The one window (in the bathroom) refused to close and I had to ask staff for assistance in shoving it shut, it not being fitted properly. Everything has a general DIY not fully finished vibe, for example the wooden bunk ladder being rough and unsanded in parts and scratches you. Overall it’s fine but just bizarrely rushed looking, random screws in the wall and no art, bathroom sliding doors that only have a narrow opening, no charging points by the bed etc.
