Clean, modern room with ensuite Have been several times before so knew what to expect Kitchen facilities are great and communal areas offer good space Bar below is a bonus
As explained in the communications befi=ore visit We were in maain building above the bar and even on the second floor you will hear some noise until 1am at weekends They do provide ear plugs to help If you don't like noise I would advise you to ask for the rooms in the second building The noise didn't bother us

Great room sea view

We booked the larger double room with sea view. The room (No.6) was well furnished, warm and comfortable and spotlessly clean with a lovely view out to sea towards Lismore. It had a large bathroom with huge walk in shower with rainfall shower.
The kitchen for guests use is so well laid out with anything you could wish for. Provisions are available for a continental breakfast for self selection.
Parking so near to the accommodation at a council carpark. We downloaded the Pay by Phone app before our stay so we could pay for parking outwith the free time of 18.00-09.00.
All good

Perfect location close to everything but not in the centre, between a 2 minute walk to the start of the main street and 10 minutes walk to the ferry port so ideal
We booked a double room but did not notice the option we booked shared with one other room, not a massive problem as there was a separate toilet from the main bathroom but we would have booked a room with a bathroom but our fault not there fault so just read properly and it does clearly state that so have no issue with the accommodation at all

The location and vibe was lovely upon check-in, staff and guests were lovely and friendly. the one kitchen available looked clean and upon checking in our room overall was clean also. a massive plus to the room throughout our stay was that it was cosy and warm with heating on and tv and wifi worked perfectly.
We were not told the kitchen in our building was under refurb so everytime we even wanted a cup of tea we had to use the kitchen in the other building next to us. I found two short black hairs in my bed which obviously was very disappointing but due to the busyness I didn't see the point in asking to change rooms, (plus I think when booking I got the last twin room) there was fights going on on the saturday night down at markie dans amongst a pubescent crowd of boys (which we seen and heard) plus a bunch of young girls hanging around the entrance area.

The room is spacious and comfortable for a family, the beds were great, we were high up enough that noise wasnt an issue and the breakfast options perfect for a family adventuring. Thank you!
Nothing! Great place and we keep coming back.

It was comfortable and very good value for the money
Although aware of no lifts do struggle with the stairs and wasn’t aware of ground floor bedrooms
8.0 / 10.0
Convenient location, clean property, instant hot water (a must in winter!).
Staff were very frazzled when we arrived (likely due to being short staffed, or it being around the holidays. Staff weren’t able to accomodate my grandfather, and had no alternatives without stairs, so perhaps reconsider for mobility.

Never had breakfast but we could have brought our own stuff in to the kitchen which is a fantastic idea! Location was perfect for the concert venue and I loved we were just above the smashing public bar with not too far to walk! Will definitely be back. Thanks Corran guesthouse!

Great value and very convenient location being right across the road from Corran Halls and directly above Markie Dan’s. Short walk down the Main Street or along the promenade to the centre of Oban. Room was clean and modern, and staff were friendly.
While it didn’t bother me as I was there for it, the music from pub could be somewhat heard in the room. Was notified about this from staff beforehand who were willing to be accommodative of this. Earplugs were available in reception area as well.

The breakfast was good value for money and the kitchen was well equipped.
The shower was rubbish. I mean, really bad. I had to use our friends shower, which was 'slightly ' better. The staff member says all the electric showers in the UK were like that. No, they're not.
The bathroom was absolutely freezing even with the towel rail on.
There were stains on the dresser that didn't look very nice

For the price paid this place was excellent. Room was lovely and kitchen very well equipped.
The fire alarm went off during our stay in the middle of the night, however, and we were not contacted by any member of staff to tell us it was safe, we only heard via another person staying in the hostel.

Pub noise ,but was warned and was quieter than expected.

Not much. It was more a hostel than a guest house and definitely not a hotel
See above. People were also smoking in the property. Never really felt secure or safe. Same key open the front door and our room. No latch lock. Really basic room. Small bathroom. Perhaps they had better rooms. They never really had any staff on site.

The common kitchen facilities were the best I’ve ever seen! Microwaves, stoves, ovens, fridges, all for guests’ use, all kept extremely clean and well organized, as well as a variety of food items available for use at a very reasonable price. There’s also a living room with tables, chairs and games and a good window for watching the seaport.
It was too hot at night.

The hotel was within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. Also about a 20 minute walk to the Dunollie Castle. Beds were comfy. Bonus, there was a bar under the hotel, which was perfect for a night cap before heading off to bed.

Friendly welcome at reception. Room clean and a good size. Self serve breakfast was good as we were up very early on first morning to get the first ferry to Mull. Markie Dan’s bar/venue under the hotel was excellent, friendly welcome good beer, good food, great music and great to see so many people from many countries having a great time together.
Everything was fine.

Close to restaurants
Very noisy at night as people were talking outside till 1am. We needed to have the windows open as it was too hot to close them and there was no fan.

Great location opposite the ocean and very easy short walk to town centre. The rooms and communal areas were spotlessly clean and it was nice to have a communal kitchen to make breakfast. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could possibly want for either a fully cooked or continental breakfast. The staff were really friendly and helpful.
The room we stayed in was a twin room which although spotlessly clean it was a bit basic with very little storage for clothes.

Location.
Booking will not make hosts be honest and just describe parking realities factually. All told, this with the 19% tax, adds 30% on to our cost. After booking and asking the questions is not honest either...just state the facts.
The bar is quite noisy and you get an email from Corran much later telling you about the all night partying, but they downplay that when you get the room.
Kids are running the place from a kid's perspective.

Our room was next to a noisy bar, which meant noise until late in the night.
