Distressing and Uncomfortable Stay Over New Year’s Eve

The view from the room.

We booked this apartment for 2 nights over New Year’s Eve, expecting a comfortable and festive stay. Unfortunately, this was not our experience. We were asked twice to lower the TV volume, and a third time on New Year’s Eve to turn down music playing through a small portable speaker. This made us feel uncomfortable and unable to enjoy the occasion. The situation escalated later that evening. After I knocked on the neighbour’s door in a light-hearted manner, following previous wall knocks from them. However we were confronted by four men, including the host and his son. Their approach felt intimidating. The hosts then took our passports and refused to return them, threatening to call the police. This was extremely distressing and entirely inappropriate, and should never happen to guests under any circumstances. Although an apology was later offered, the incident overshadowed the entire stay. If it were not for that apology, this would have been a one-star experience.

The location itself is lovely, but please allow time to get in and out of the old town, as the bus is irregular, there is often traffic and it is a long (but lovely!) walk.

Great place :)

The host was very kind and helped us carry our suitcases from the car to the room, as the path involved some staircases, and was available for anything we needed. The house had a charming Italian countryside feel. The balcony offered a beautiful view, and we really enjoyed our morning coffee there. The location is excellent—about 10 minutes by car from the center of Old Kotor—making it perfect for anyone who wants to stay close to Kotor Old Town without paying the higher prices of being right in the center.

The location was perfect with the balcony overlooking the bay. It was just a short walk to the beach and local amenities. The hosts were friendly and helpful.

I wish the room had cable TV or at least a smart TV with streaming channels.

Exactly as described, really nice view and clean pool. Hosts were very nice and available. There’s also private parking space.

The bar/restaurant options on a walking distance are very limited and not very good (& expensive), we preferred driving somewhere else or cooking at home.

The property was spotless, the views amazing, supermarket, bakery and restaurants close by with the water front about a 3 minute walk away. The host was very helpful

the TV wasn't working which wasn't a big issue as the views are amazing. Just one day after we had walked to the old fortress and everything was aching we just wanted to relax in bed and watch a bit of TV. The bed is comfortable but the pillows are very hard which made for a few neck aches in the morning. Payment is preferred in cash in most places including the property. I only took a small amount of cash as i usually use the credit card for security reasons. the banks charge 30 euros for using them and the exchange rate is 1 euro to £1 making this about £100 pounds more than expected.

Great!

Great room, great view. Very clean and well equipped. Location was great, just near the beautiful beach. Market is also just across the road. Charming little pool near the beautiful mountain. Our car ran out of battery and the owner helped us, late in the evening, the whole family was very kind and helpful. Great location, about 7 minutes drive from Kotor.

The apartment was beautifully fitted out with all-new appliances and facilities. We loved having our own outdoor space to come back to after visiting the small towns along the coast. The air conditioning was a welcome reprieve from the heat! The hosts could not have been better and more accommodating. The flat was perfect for us!

The view from the terrace is magnificent. The apartments and the surrounding area are furnished in a very tasteful manner. All compliments go to the hosts. Warm, helpful, polite, high class. The pool was a miracle for our little one to freshen up from tbe heat of July. 5 mins to a small supermarket and beach.

Cozy apartment with fantastic view

Location was great. Quite area at the end of Dobrota. Easily accessible from Kotor and Perast. Immediate access to the sea and nearby restaurants. Check out Kanoba Barba restaurant. Good food & reasonably priced. Hosts were nice and accommodating. We were offered a bottle of wine for free. Would recommend for 2 nights stay.

the room on the ground floor is amazing.

uncomfortable bed, the drain in the shower does not work, the bathroom is constantly flooded with water, it is not possible to take a normal shower. They charge money for using the washing machine.

The room was comfortable with a great view. The location was excellent, very close to the water and restaurants. Our hosts were extremely helpful, they organised our covid test tax certificates as well as bought us bus tickets to go to Dubrovnik and drove us to the bus station. We can highly recommend this place.
