We loved our stay here. The room was spacious and clean. Pool area was well maintained as were all the gardens. Watched the sunset from the restaurant and on the beach which is literally across the road from the hotel.

The staff in the restaurant were really lovely but we were a little disappointed with the evening food. We only ate at the main restaurant one night. Lots of other good restaurants near by. Breakfast was good

A nice pool and beachside outdoor area, but dated rooms and a serious cockroach issue on the ground

The outdoor facilities were great, with a lovely pool area and plenty of comfortable sun loungers. The location is also a big plus, as it’s close to the beach and you can easily walk down to the water. Overall, the common areas outside are the strongest part of the hotel and where we enjoyed spending our time.

You can tell the hotel has seen better days. The rooms feel a bit tired and not really worth what it costs to stay here. We stayed on the ground floor, and unfortunately there were far too many cockroaches, both inside our room and around the entire ground-floor area of the hotel. One evening we walked from reception back to our room and counted seven large dead cockroaches along the way, which was honestly disgusting and made the stay feel very uncomfortable.

Very good choice for a few days of relax in Khao Lak

The room was huge, the bed super comfy with a great view over the pool. Direct access to the beach allowed us to do long walks every day. The onsite massage service was also amazing! Breakfast was ok, not the highest quality, but still very good!

Not an issue for us, as we rented a bike, but the location is a bit far from the center.

Grand old resort in serene and picturesque location.

Beautiful, grand old hotel where we have stayed many times. Excellent value for money in serene location. Lovely pool. Quiet atmosphere. Attentive, caring staff. Love the location as we have a car and explore all the beaches, bars and restaurants around. Will always return to the Orchid.

Beautiful clean and peaceful.

Beautiful clean hotel right on the beach. Lovely and quiet area. We stayed for 6 nights and were unexpectedly upgraded to a larger ground floor room when we arrived which was a lovely surprise. The staff are all lovely and very helpful, the pool is nice with the swim up bar for drinks and snacks it's not expensive either which was great. The hotel is a bit out of the way but they do provide a minibus into khaolak and the market alot cheaper than a taxi at 100bt e/w. There's also a couple of nice restaurants just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel that serve amazing food, are always full some tables reserved every evening, we ate at them a couple of times and always enjoyed the food the staff are amazing can't do enough for everyone. There's a little mini mart shop aswell next to the hotel that seems to sell everything that we found very handy. We loved our stay here and would stay again.

Beautiful, beach front location off the beaten track.

Quiet, beach front location. Very large 2 bedroom room. Beach views from our room. Couple of restaurants in walking distance. Huge pool with swim up bar. Lovely massage on site. Friendly staff. Well manicured gardens. Best khao pad seafood my husband had all trip from the on site restaurant. Resort and rooms felt more authentically Thai than another resort we stayed at in the area. Very relaxing stay!

Slightly run down in parts. Limited options for fussy kids at breakfast. But this could be easily solved with a jar of peanut butter or nutella for on toast.

Great hotel, comfy beds fantastic staff.

The beds were so very comfortable best nights sleep while staying there. The room was spacious and very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful all happy and smiling. The pool area was very tidy. Beach was just over the road sea was rather rough so stayed by pool during our visit.

There was nothing that needed improvement in my opinion.

Beachfront! Friendly staff, varied breakfast buffet, large rooms, slightly outdated

Location is right across the street from the beach. We often felt like it was a private beach for us! Breakfast buffet was varied, lots of options for savory palates like me, plus lots of fresh fruit (super appreciated that they had covers for the fruit unlike many buffets we saw with fruit flies!) they also have a station where you can have your eggs cooked the way you want. Large rooms (we had a 2 bedroom family suite) with tub and shower. Good strong AC. Staff was extremely friendly and very helpful throughout the whole stay! They have a relatively cheap shuttle bus that can drop you in town for the street market.

If you are looking for more lively area then this isn't for you. The resort is about 15 mins by car to the main shopping/eating area of Khao Lak.

The Staff were absolutely lovely, friendly & helpful. Buffet breakfast was a great idea, food was ok. Staff were always helpful & friendly. They made the stay more enjoyable.

The main restaurant for food besides breakfast was the only disappointment. Food wasn’t great & prices were more expensive than anywhere else we ate. Alcohol & drinks were also more expensive. This was the only let down.

Perfect for a quiet getaway

It’s a lovely place to stay if you are looking for a quiet beach and nature. The pool is lovely and breakfast was good - mounds of fresh fruit.

The New Year’s Eve party was rather disappointing considering the price. The food was ok but country music was too slow for a party atmosphere and just dancing would have been more fun than musical chairs for a few. It lacked the new year party vibe.

Wonderful, family-friendly hotel off the beaten track 🌴

This is a wonderful, smaller hotel with a lovely character. The staff was super friendly, good breakfast, and we thoroughly enjoyed the pool. Rather than the typical chain hotels, this one has a bit more character. Our 5-year-old son loved the cats and resident dog on the property, as well as the presence of a few beach balls at the pool. The hotel and beach were rather quiet despite it being peak season in mid-December. The location is beautiful but a bit off the beaten track. But there is everything you need right next door: ATM, restaurant, massages, taxi, laundry, minimart.

Because the hotel is not near the main road or central Khao Lak, you need transportation to get around. Scooters or bikes are a great option. Traveling with a child meant we had to take a taxi to Coconut beach (500 baht round trip), Pak Weep beach (700 baht round trip) and Bang Niang market (300 one way). All of this was fine and super easy. The hotel also offers a shuttle to Bang Niang market at 50 baht per person. We liked the location and the local beach, but it’s something to keep in mind when you stay here.

Superb

Very beautiful Ressort with a nice huge breakfast room in the middle of jungle and beautiful beach which is very big and rather for relaxing than for activities. The beach is not crowded (on some days there is almost no one near by). People who are working there are very friendly and helpful! Had an accident with scooter and they helped out with translation to the Thai Police. The place is a little bit outside so that you need a scooter or Taxi if you like to go to Bang Niang Market for example. I do not recommend scooter ;) especially in the night when it rains. There are also a few shops / restaurants close by if you do not want to leave the quite area.

Nice hotel for one night

Staff was friendly but not always around. Breakfast buffet was very good. Gluten free bread upon request (in advance). Pool is nice. Location at the beach is also nice.

Bed was quite hard and the walls are very thin, you can hear the neighbours. The hotel is a little bit outdated and could use some updates here and there. To go to the centre you need a taxi, not easy by foot.

Good choice for khao lak

Breakfast is excellent and staff there are great - especially smiling Pear! Location is good and the small strip of restaurants adjacent are great and much cheaper (and better) than the hotel.

Reception staff are rude and unhelpful. Food at the pool bar is awful. Laundry service in hotel is a rip off.

Huoneemme oli kauniimpi kuin kuvissa, siivous piti hyvän huolen siisteydestä. Sänky ja tyynyt olivat hyvät. Aamupala oli riittävän hyvä, paistettua munakasta, hedelmiä, leipää ja lämpimiä ruokia oli monipuolisesti tarjolla. Allas alueet siistit ja hyvin hoidetut. Aurinkotuoleja oli riittävästi. Kaikki oli ehjää ja siistiä. Näkymä merelle on upea. Allasbaarin työntekijä ihastuttava. Lähellä pari ravintolaa ja pieni kauppa. Pyykinpesua lähettyvillä edulliseen 80bath/ 1kg. Isompaan keskustaan ravintoloiden tms äärelle lyhyt matka taksilla, mopolla tms.

Loma loppu ajasta huoneessa oli lievä ummehtunut haju, kauppa oli vähän outo (haisi homeelle) sekä respan henkilökunta tuntui töykeältä. Aamiaisella kaipasin erikoiskahveja ja kahvikonetta.

Les conditions de vie à l'hôtel sont parfaites: grande chambre et balcon bien entretenus.Très bon lit.Le calme et l'absence d'animations permettent à chacun d'avoir ses activités personnelles.L'hotel est situé le long d'une plage magnifique , l'eau très chaude.Hôtel idéal pour ceux qui souhaitent se relaxer dans un environnement idyllique.Le PD est très non toujours bien réapprovisionné, le personnel ainsi que celui du menage edt vraiment très agréable et attentionné. Navette pratique pour aller en ville avec chauffeur très agréables.

Dommage que le personnel du lobby ne soit pas souriant et ne nous demande même pas si nous sommes contents de notre sejour lors du depart.
