Friendly, comfortable resort

Very pleasant Scandinavian resort, with enthusiastic Scandi staff putting on endless entertainment. Plenty of pools, good variety of reasonably priced restaurants and a good beach. Also convenient to have a couple of local restaurants right next door on the beach.

The buildings have a kind of Soviet grim aesthetic but interior decor is good. Not a big issue.

This is a large three star resort. - Nothing more.

Breakfast gets very boring after your third night here. They did not have enough staff on duty nor enough cleaning staff. The actual food lacked taste.

Actual Hotel: This is nothing more than a very large three star resort. The hotel do not really focus on the guest experience. Once you are checked in you are left to figure it out. You can expect a lot of the same, they do not have enough operating equipment for their busy period so you will wait for things like knifes and forks. Room: We booked a room which opened up onto the swimming pool, what this meant was other guests helped themselves to our lilo which was on the balcony. Other guests left their cocktails on our balcony and this was never cleaned. You also hear the noise from the pool. I do not recommend this room type. Housekeeping: They only start cleaning rooms everyday after 14h00 - so you have no opportunity for an afternoon sleep. Pool: They do not have enough pool loungers and have no one monitoring the area so you get guests who put towels down on the loungers and then head off for the day. No one removes them. It was like this at all the pools and even the beach loungers. Breakfast: Breakfast gets very boring after your third night here. They did not have enough staff on duty nor enough cleaning staff. The actual food lacked taste. Coffee: I would rate the coffee a 1/10. It's liquid coffee from vending machines. You will not find a nice espresso or pour over.

Good resort for families

A good family hotel, already our second time staying there. Staff from kids club really friendly and helpful.

The air condition was making loud noises all night, we couldn’t sleep for two nights, we complained after the first night, no one responded just told us after checking, everything looked normal. But second night still loud noises, and then they told us it’s because of a broken pipe, they will have to open up the entire ceiling to fix it! Third night they manage to put us into another room, but it was really a stressful and annoying situation, plus two sleepless nights. Apart from that, lots of people reserve sun beds hours in advance, just putting their towels there not using them, I wish the resort could have done something about that.

Such a disappointing stay. Dirty and run down.

The location on the beach and that’s it.

So disappointing. Dirty, run down and the staff don’t seem to care. Our shower leaked and we had to ask 3 Seperate occasions to come and assist. Furniture breaking, towels were all torn, I don’t know when last the pools were cleaned. Such a pity because it has such potential.

They showed us 5 rooms all with molt. After that and 3hrs waiting time they offered us a free cancelation. What cost is a half day + 550 THB for the taxi.

Great pools, easy access to the beach.

It was shoulder season so lots of maintenance was taking place. Don’t get me wrong it’s great to see the investment to maintain the resort, just a little noisy at times and restrictive.

Maximum bang for your buck during low season in Khao Lak

Everything was very good. Truly kick back and relax. Rooms were nice and clean. Breakfast buffet is very generous. Staff are all super friendly.

The exterior and passages of the buildings could use some maintenance. The location is far from town but they make up for it with free shuttle service to town and back (11:00-16:30).

Great for families and perfect location, however if visiting in low season, options for facilities are limited.

Fantastic location, Impressive Pools for adults and the kids. Staff and porters were always happy to help and friendly. Breakfast is very good. Restaurant is very reasonably priced also.

Pretty much everything apart from the swimming pools was closed or at the least limited facilities. Shops, cafe, food courts as you walk throughout the complex are all closed. I am unsure if this is due to low season, but majority of the facilities were closed and construction works everywhere from the main lobby to the beach. The room we had was relatively clean and very spacious, although some areas showing general wear and tear.

The hotel is big and they have big swimming pool and many pools with the nice beach spot. The breakfast is rich and good. The facilities are great. The staff are nice and kind. They have shuttle to town.

A resort with potential to be great.

The resort was actually really nice and the rooms very clean and spacious.

The problem was the lack of vibe, atmosphere, and life in the resort. It was like a deserted resort. The staff were quite rude and not what you would typically expect in a Thailand resort. Also Asked the reception desk staff to call a taxi for us at 6:30 pm and was told to walk down to the beach for a taxi.

This is a fair-priced 5-star stay. decent value as long as you’re not too picky.

Service is good, staff is very helpful and friendly, hotel enviroment is good, they take care of it, hotel services like food, drink and beverages is not expensive, compare to another 5stars accomodations, i can say it's cheap, they have parking and many other services.

Room is not very clean — someone’s hair in the bathroom, dirty mirror, and the balcony door locker doesn’t work. Extreme humidity in the room (because the pool is very close to the rooms), which causes a constant bad smell. If you want to book a spa and stay only a short time, forget it — there’s a one-week waiting list. Breakfast is pathetic. At the very least, I expected freshly cooked eggs, but they’re pre-cooked and just left on a tray, so if you want eggs, be ready to eat them cold. And the final shot is the food. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m a huge fan of Thai food — I absolutely love it. But every Thai dish they serve here? Not even close. Not at all.

There was a stagnant stream in the resort which emanated quite a strong rotten smell unfortunately which spoilt the stay. Also, there was a free shuttle bus to the town, but the staff failed to inform us that you need to prebook it. We lost some time because of that.

The size of the rooms are above average. The breakfast was exceptional. The staff were above and beyond. The little things worked so well e.g. a buggy services from room to any part of the hotel

Very unsatisfactory

The location

We paid for a pool access room and due to poor maintenance, the pool was full of algae for almost a week and we were unable to use therefore should only have to pay for a standard room. I have since asked for a partial refund and am waiting for a response which I hope will be actioned as soon as possible. We have stayed here before and will never stay here again.

Simply amazing

I liked that they had variety of food to choose from for breakfast. I didn't mind the location even though it was 1.5hours drive from the airport, definitely worth it. Also, I appreciate that the resort provides free mini bus ride to the local markets, even though I was one passenger they still drove me to the markets regardless.

On check out I found out that one of the customer's had found a small sneak in their room. I'm just lucky I didn't experience that. Otherwise, overall I was happy with my stay. Definitely relaxing gateway place from big city, noise and all.

Für Paare ist es nur im Adults-only-Bereich auszuhalten - unbedingt bei der Buchung beachten!!!

Das Hotel hat auch Zimmer im Adults-only-Bereich. Der Strand mit den umliegenden Strand-Restaurants ist sehr schön. Das vom Hotel organisierte Volleyball hat Spaß gemacht.

Wir waren als Paar im Family-Bereich eingebucht, konnten das aber beim Buchungsvorgang nicht erkennen. Das erging scheinbar nicht nur uns so und erklärt auch die sehr unterschiedlichen Bewertungen des Hotels. Der Family-Bereich mit Animation ist für Familien mit Kinder sicherlich toll, aber für Paare völlig ungeeignet. Speziell im Frühstücksrestaurant im Family-Bereich geht es chaotisch und sehr laut zu. Das Personal (meist keine Thais) ist oft überfordert und unfreundlich und wird vom Management nicht ausreichend geführt. Ich habe z.B. den Resort-Manager nie in der Anlage gesehen und so sieht es dann auch aus. Das Hotel hat eine No-Reservation Policy für Liegen, welche leider in keinster Weise umgesetzt wird. Die Zimmer werden nur oberflächlich geputzt, z.B. wurden die Händeabdrücke der Vorgänger im Zimmer an Spiegel und Glasscheiben und auch Spinnennetze nicht entfernt. Im Zimmer musste ein Luftentfeuchter laufen.
