Definitely NOT a 5 star hotel

Staff is kind, respectful and responsive. Location right on the beach. Room service is good - try the mango sticky rice. The pepperoni pizza was quite good too.

This is definitely not a 5 star hotel. There is only 1 pool, full of children, toddlers, new born, etc. The beach area is crowded, one beach chair next to the other, most of them without umbrellas. When the sun gets to you there's pretty much no option than to look for other beach chairs in the shade...and play the musical chairs because they're usually all taken. Breakfast is pretty terrible - if you expect a 5 star breakfast, forget it, you have to lower your expectations considerably - for both options and quality. Resort is small, everyone feels on top of each other. You hear screaming kids, crying babies, it is hard to relax. Would not recommend if you don't have kids with you.

Khao Lak Beach Resort

Staff amazing. Quality of service exceptional. Will make your special occasion even more special. If you want a hotel away from madding crowds of Phuket then Khao Lak Beach Resort is ideal. Superb for families with children (although we were only a couple). Sunrises & sunsets amazing. Dinners on the beach accompanied by all sorts of entertainment & singers. Yoga/football/volleyball on the beach - in fact too much to mention....

It catered brilliantly for children - I'm only glad we didn't visit in school holidays

Relaxing

We visited in late July. The weather wasn't the best but our kids loved swimming in the surf and the hotel facilities are excellent for a family. The beach is beautiful and there are lots of local massage places within walking distance if you like more of a Thai beach feel.

Some of the beach restaurants within walking distance were not open because of the wet season. The food at the hotel was very good but we like to change it up and as such we had to use taxis to get ourselves to other foodie options. It was easy to get taxis though.

Exactly what we needed

The room was amazing, size wise was perfect. The hotel layout is very nice all is pretty close and convenient. The staff were super nice and helpful. We had some issue with the a/c they changed the room quickly. All we asked was we’ll responded

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G

Au, Shane, Tum, Baw, Pal and every single staff of them were just amazing, super helpful and always smiling at the customers. We are a family of 5 (parents with 15y, 13y & 9y). I loved how clean is the room and good space of the resort. Pool time and beach walks were our favorites, it would have been more fun if they had a slide and a deeper pool, but it still amazing.

No bad comments, only suggestions; wish they had Halal food, private room for message (woman), electric dryer for clothes, it would be very helpful as clothes don’t get dry easily with humidity and when it does sometimes it smells bad so you must send it to the dry clean. BEWARE TO GO BACK WITH LOTS OF MOSQUITOES BITES.

Superb! High recommended!

Everything was amazing! I had high expectations, and they were exceeded on every level. Our bed was not only 9ft /2.7m!!! But exceptionally comfortable. The grounds are beautiful. Everything is pristine. The breakfast was fabulous. The staff were incredible We travelled on to Phuket... big mistake! Went for dinner to Mali - recommend it. Great value for money, at least in July.

Excellent stay with good amenities and easy access to a beautiful beach

Great location and elegant rooms with modern facilities. The pool is really nice and the resort has easy access to the beach. Beach is quiet and beautiful and feels like a private one. Breakfast spread was quite good and there were plenty of dining options.

1. TV in the room to be upgraded to a smart TV with OTT opps or ability for phone casting 2. Consider keeping the games/activity room open till 10 pm 3. During breakfast, if the items containing egg can be clearly demarcated

Wonderful Family Stay – Perfect Beachfront Escape with Outstanding Service.

We had family vacation at Outrigger Khao Lak Beach Resort in June 2025. From the moment we arrived, everything met our expectations. We stayed in a garden room, which was beautifully maintained, peaceful, and just a short stroll from both the pool and the beach. The pool area is one of the highlights — spacious, clean. The beachfront location is stunning. The sunsets were breathtaking, and the beach was always clean and uncrowded. The resort feels like a true tropical escape. The Wi-Fi throughout the property was excellent, even in the room and by the pool! A huge thank you to the restaurant team for their outstanding service and kindness (we had a full board). Special recognition to Jam, Aom, Mew, Konee, and Ohm — they made every meal a pleasure with their warm smiles and attentiveness. The food was consistently delicious with a good variety for all tastes. Overall, this resort combines beautiful nature, comfort, excellent service. We would definitely recommend Outrigger Khao Lak Beach Resort to families or anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway.

Beautiful resort with every comfort. Restaurants, store and washing is nearby and on the beach. Friendly staff, good organization and service via app. Very good breakfast

In House restaurants are proportionally too expensive and did not suit our taste, not even the burger. Little privacy at the pool villa (full view from the main path), air conditioning was loud and difficult to regulate

We loved everything about this hotel. The room, the facilities, and the location, but I would like to highlight the staff and especially Activation Manager AU, Thai-boxing instructor SA, the amazing girls in the kid's room: Prae, Kook, Aommy, and TUM, and the boys at the beach. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming during our entire stay. We would recommend it and hope to come back soon!

Relaxing, central but not crowded, friendly

Location it’s central on the beach for walks and other places to eat. Great mix a people from different countries. Had a community feel. The hotel is not overly restrictive with rules such as pool closing times etc.

The service was slow at the pool, very slow to remove lunch plates if at all. Which is a shame the staff are friendly and pool area is lovely overlooking the beach.

Choosing the option for both lunch and dinner was a HUGE MISTAKE! They give you vouchers at the hotel for the restaurant, but the restaurant owner is unbelievably rude. The moment he sees you're using vouchers instead of cash, his attitude sours instantly. To make matters worse, these vouchers don't cover soft drinks or any other beverage, and if you have one, you're barred from getting takeaway. My little boy got hurt and was bleeding, but that didn't matter to this guy, who forced me to stay at the restaurant while everyone paying cash could freely take their meals to go. I complained to the reception desk, but they couldn't care less, giving me nothing but blank smiles.
