Home away from home!

From the moment we arrived, this place exceeded every expectation. The house strikes a perfect balance between charm and comfort—spotlessly clean, thoughtfully designed, and equipped with everything you might need, right down to the little details that make a stay feel special. The location is idyllic: quiet, scenic, and a perfect base for exploring the surrounding area. It’s the kind of spot where you immediately feel yourself relax, yet you’re still close enough to everything you’d want to see and do. What truly sets this stay apart, though, is the host. Communication was seamless, and the care and thought put into the guest experience are evident in every corner of the property. It felt more like being welcomed into a home than simply renting accommodation. In short, a five-star stay in every respect. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable escape—we’re already looking forward to coming back.

The best of the best!

Margaret thought of EVERYTHING! She had a snack basket, stocked basics in the fridge and had goodies on the counter, too. She had easy to follow instructions for the fire stove (which I used a lot!) and plenty of wood available to use. Beautiful fresh daffodils all over the house. The beds were so comfortable and I slept so well. The house was gorgeous and was so quiet and serene. The view was absolutely phenomenal! Definitely enjoyed sitting in the solar room, drinking tea and staring at the views.... and snuggling up on the sofa under blankets with the fire going. The internet was fast and the TV was just the best size with access to streaming TV. I can't wait to come back in the future!

An absolute gem!

The cottage was furnished to an exemplary standard and was extremely well equipped. Margaret made us feel incredibly welcome and supplied some welcome goodies, which was a very thoughtful touch. It is in a stunning and private setting, right on the water's edge, and is conveniently located. We were not far from some amazing sites such as Dunvegan Castle and Gardens and Neist Point Lighthouse. We would highly recommend staying here!

A wonderfully comfortable and clean property in a very special location.

The location and views were lovely. The welcome bits and pieces (milk,butter etc) were much appreciated. The property was spotless and very well equipped. We loved that the heating was on - so many Scottish landlords don’t believe in heating in ‘summer’ regardless of temperature 😊

Nothing that we can think of. Personally we would have one comfy armchair in the sun room rather than two benches but that’s being picky 😊

Our stay at Tigh Beag Na Mara was exceptional. It's a must-stay property.

Our stay at Tigh Beag Na Mara on the Isle of Skye was exceptional. It's so quiet! The location of this property is breath-taking, with views onto the Loch which is only metres away. The host went over and above, and made our welcome something to remember with so many extra touches and the property is so well equiped with all that we needed for our three-night stay. It's only about fifteen minutes' drive into Dunvegan, which has so much to do, and where there is a choice of restaurants (but bookings are recommended).

There is nothing on which I could fault Tigh Beag Na Mara.

Amazing Cottage in Roag.

Fantastic cottage in a wonderful location. Lovely welcome pack on arrival and our hosts made sure we had everything we needed. We loved the peace and quiet being located on Loch Vatten. Amazing place.

Few potholes on the road to the cottage you need to drive round. You have to get used to these on Skye.
