We were welcomed by Mark as we settled in to a fabulous place. It was immaculately clean, very comfortable and very well equipped. A wee dram was awaiting us on a stormy evening which was much appreciated.

Lovely secluded spot , and views were stunning!

The couple that own it were very welcoming and if we’d have needed anything they would have been there and the views from the living space was stunning!

For me I didn’t like the bedroom downstairs but obviously this was done to capture the views! Also very windy and the log burner although upstairs the wind vibrated down the flue making it noisy to sleep! The kitchen is very small and it had all the basics I wouldn’t have cooked there , I also didn’t like the OSB boards on the walls , although some might call it decorative!

The highlight of our trip!

This place was absolutely amazing. Looks even better than on pictures. Perfectly equipped, very clean, comfy and cute. The views on the bay with the wildlife straight in front of the house is epic (the sunsets too!). Loved having binoculars available to spot the seals. The hosts are lovely, very available and helpful. We had the best time!

Nothing! It was perfect. Side note, it's a bit remote. It wasn't an issue for us as we had a car but it might be challenging to reach without one.

A hidden gem

Marvellous place, with outstanding view on the bay. The apartment has everything you want (and more) for 2 guests. Very cosy decorated with a eye for detail. A pity we only booked 2 nights, but we enjoyed it tremendously

Dreamy stay

Absolutely fantastic place! The cleanest one can imagine (just completely and absolutely spotless clean). Kitchen extremely well equipped (has literally everything one might need to cook any type of meal). Hosts are absolutely lovely people! The views from the lounge are fantastic! Nice towels in the bathroom! Spacious and lovely well decorated maisonette. Fireplace absolutely gorgeous! There was absolutely nothing I’d change about this place!

You won’t want to leave!

Check in was a breeze and we were greeted by the friendly hosts, Ann & Mark. The place was so clean, beautifully designed and presented. I felt safe and very comfortable. The views are insanely beautiful, it didn’t seem real! Location ideal and not far from main tourist spots. DEFINITELY pick this place as your Isle of Skye accommodation - you won’t regret it at all!!!

Well designed upstairs and kitchen has everything you need. Slept like babies, no noise at all. Super comfortable and private. The walks to the beach and across the jill for the views were great. Amazing stay on Isle of Skye

The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, going far as greeting us with complementary food and drinks. The apartment is well equipped with everything one might need for a longer stay (even binoculars). The view from the apartment is breathtaking, overlooking the sea and the beach and surrounded by green fields filled with sheep and bunnies. Thanks to its location, it was one of the most quiet and relaxing places we have ever been to. We'd recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Scottish experience.

Exceptional stay

Excellent location (easy to find from satnav) and great communication from the hosts before and during the stay. Views from the apartment are phenomenal, and the interior and all facilities were exactly as described with some really thoughtful added extras by the hosts. Warm, quiet, comfortable and spotlessly clean. WiFi was easy to access and worked well. Great 2 night stay, thanks!

Excellent holiday home on Isle of Skye

This is absolutely one of the best holiday appartments I have ever seen. It is not very big but very efficiently planned - everything is in its place and overall very comfortable. Very tastefully furnished. The location is unbelievable - very nice views directly from the window and just a few steps from great lookouts.

Everything! The best stay we had to date. With sea waves rocking the shore and rabbits and sheep grazing outside the window, the view is mesmerizing. You'll find everything you need in the room, which is tastefully decorated. Additionally, there are complementary drinks and bread butter for toasting. The only regret I have is not spending enough time there.

Since there are no restaurants near by, you'll need to plan ahead for dinner. Otherwise, bring everything and prepare the meal at home. Its not a downside, per se, but plan it before, so not to hurry at the last moment.

A good rest in Skye

We enjoyed the quiet location and being close to all the sights in the area. The hosts were lovely and helped us with whatever we needed. We loved walking around the area and watching the animals, bunnies, and lambs playing. We will most definitely return if we have the opportunity

Don't just stay on Skye. Stay here and you will become Skye.

Every now and then, you find somewhere to stay that literally takes your breath away. This is one of those places! Mark and Ann are the perfect hosts and have thought of so so many little touches to make you feel welcome that I only noticed some of them on our last night of our 3 night stay. From a very thorough welcome pack before you get there to fresh milk and bread and a sample of local whiskey to warm you up on yoyr stay Very comfortable beds. Delightful decor. Don't stay in the easy option of bigger towns on Skye where you can walk to dinner. Hey I love that option too some days but if you what we did and call into the co-op supermarket when you arrive on the Isle and get supplies to cook your own easy dinner after you come home tired after exploring the beautiful wild countryside and take in the ever changing vista from the floor to ceiling window at the front, you will be so so glad you did. You won't just see Skye. You will become Skye!

Ideal

This was a well-equipped and nicely decorated apartment on Skye. We liked the solitude of the location, walking with the sheep and along the water. The hosts are also very kind and there were many thoughtful touches like whiskey shots, chocolate, bread, and fresh milk waiting for us. We would certainly stay again and hope to do so. This was ideal.

Highlight of our trip!

Everything! The stunning views through the massive window in the living area that looks out over the water where seals and otters can be seen (we saw the seals), in front of some spectacular mountain views, along with binoculars and telescope. The fireplace. The small touches, like the welcome whiskey, the all the kitchen equipment needed to cook anything you want, the book of photos on the construction of Lochanside and many others. Hopefully if we are ever back in Skye, we are absolutely looking to stay here again.

Best place we stayed while in Scotland.

Amazing view from the living room. Absolutely amazing the cozy living room with a small fireplace (good heating system in general). The kitchen is very weel equiped and Mark and Ann are very attentive. There was coffee, milk, butter, salt, pepper and cooking oil which helped.

Lochanside is by far the best S/C accommodations we have experienced,we have stayed in many.

The hosts have done everything they possibly could to meet the guests requirements,and even more,so many nice and thoughtful touches,generosity,which we previously never experienced previously. You just couldn’t pick a fault with the hosts or the property. If you are looking to chill out and relax for a few days,in a superb location with spectacular scenery then Lochanside is the place to be.

We should have stayed longer. Hope to rectify that in the near future. Sorry just couldn’t find anything we didn’t like.
