Heavenly honeymoon retreat

Absolutely stunning location to the remote west side of Skye in farmland glen surroundings. The cabin itself is beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean and well thought out with everything you need to make a meal. The cabin is very warm cosy and excellent WiFi.

Crofter's Cottage - A true gem!!

We loved the Crofter's Cottage! It was clean, cozy and very tastefully decorated. The bed was very comfortable, there was instant hot water and the kitchen area had everything you could need. The hosts Lynda and John made us feel very welcome and had a wealth of local knowledge. The cottage was lovely and warm when we arrived and we quickly settled in. The setting is very peaceful with sheep and cows grazing on the nearby hill. We appreciated the patio chairs and table so we were able to sit out on the patio and take in the view. We highly recommend the Crofter's Cabin as a great base for exploring Skye. Thank you very much Lynda and John, we very much enjoyed our visit.

Fantastic location and amenities

Everything was amazing about our stay. The cabin was very clean, there was an amazing supply of kitchen utensils and cutlery, as well as coffee and tea. The bathroom was stocked with towels and the hot water was available when we wanted it. There were two chairs indoors and outdoors for us to eat our meals on regardless of the weather and a TV. There were so many amazing touches that made us feel looked after, like a heated towel rack, a pull out coat rack and a pull out mirror. Then if we wanted to be within nature we just had to walk out the front door to be treated with sheep. Lynda and John are such amazing hosts, we got answers to all our questions and they were very gracious the entire time. 100% recommend a stay here.

The internet was a bit spotty and there's no cell service in the glen. It's all part of being off the grid.

Highlight of our roadtrip

The Crofters Cabin was our highlight. It is so peaceful and the hosts were so nice and helpful. We could deeply relax and enjoy living in the moment. Everything was very clean and we had all we needed to cook for ourselves. This is the perfect place to explore Skye and the hosts have a lot of information where to go and what to do. Wifi connection was also very good if needed. Only downside was, that we only booked it for 2 nights. Will definetly want to come again!

This was the best stay on our trip. Super cozy cabin, well equipped and very clean. Check In and Out was easy and comfortable.There even were books, movies and games and a friendly chicken that visited our porch daily.

a gem!

- Great and beautiful location! We loved coming back every evening. Felt like home. - stags in the glen (by night) - sheep at the kitchen window in the morning - very clean! - lovely decor and well-thought-out layout of the cabin - great info folder - very friendly host - fireplace - basket with games, books, maps, dvds - well equipped kitchen (mini oven, microwave, plates, cutlery, stove,toaster, kettle,…)

- slow internet and no phone signal (which can also be a goof thing) - bed:only one blanket and the pillows were too hard for our liking (but I have to say that we usually sleep on very very very soft pillows) - although the kitchen is well equipped, the knives were very dull and 1-2 spare tea towles would have been nice

Quietly located away from the main tourist route which is a good thing to chill and relax. The cabin can be kept comfortably warm in cool summer night. Although there was no mobile signal, the wifi was working well and we even got to watch the Wimbledon men final before heading out for dinner. The cabin is clear and comfortable and a great view of the hill over the opposite side of the estuary. It was delightful to have the sheep grazing around us and visiting us occasionally. The Old Inn which does not require reservation is within driving distant for dinner, which we actually enjoyed very much.

Without mobile signal meant some planning was needed making sure dinner and excursions/reservations were made by phone before returning to the cabin. Otherwise one has to take a short drive to get proper mobile reception to make calls. It is perhaps a trade off one has to make to have absolute peace and quiet.

I loved the view and mostly the interior. such tastefully done and had everything you can ask for. it was really thoughtful and designed to keep the guests in mind.

only thing is the internet was acting up with instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook whereas it was streaking perfectly for YouTube. not sure what caused it may be a firewall.

Great cabin in a beautiful location.

The location was superb, very peaceful and picturesque but conveniently located for Portree and many main attractions, and the cabin was well furnished inside. A good selection of kitchenware was provided which allowed us to get by pretty well preparing basic meals, and the outdoor seating area was perfect in the good weather. The hosts left us to our own devices but were friendly when we saw them out and about.

Whilst the facilities were much better than many comparable 'pods', the oven was only a small countertop device and the hob just had two rings, so there was limited scope for cooking large meals. The shower was not very high power either - but both of these things are a product of the nature of the cabin and its rural location!

A great 3 night break to see much of the island.

Very rural setting on a working Croft, just great to see the sheep dogs doing their stuff. The views from opposite the cabin are fantastic. The location is good for visiting all the islands attractions.

As there is no oven, perhaps a microwave/oven grill would be a good idea. Would be handy for heating up frozen pizzas, etc. for hand quick meals.
