It was close to everything and the staff where lovely.
If you don’t want to party it was very loud until 10pm and the air con wasn’t overly strong but all the noise stopped at 10pm which we appreciated.

Easy location from the pier, although not straight forward to find, signage could be better. Beds comfy.
Signage could be better to find the place. Easy check in and out, despite it being new years.

Nice and quiet location, in the quiet part of the island. Room size was correct, aircon was working well, even if we did not put it all the time. Bed was large and very confortable. Walking distance from the pier no need for a taxi to carry your luggage.
5% 'bank fee' when paying by visa card. That was not informed on booking page, all others services on the island we pay by card were at 3% bank fees.
I had to ask several time to have an invoice inclusive of the 5% additional charges to finally get it, this is not acceptable behavior
Toilet was smelling sewage, ants in the room, and on the small terrasse, rusty chicken wire was falling from the roof, that can bring tetanus, a serious disease if enjured by those needle size rusty chicken wire fragment.

We stayed at this hostel for a week. The location was perfect — right next to the port and ideal for us since we were doing our Open Water course with Puravida (best experience ever!).
Unfortunately, there were several downsides. From the very first night, we suspected our beds might have been infested with bed bugs — every morning my friends and I woke up with clusters of bites. The staff were quick to move us to another room, which we appreciated, but the problem continued. At first, we thought they were mosquito bites, but there were no mosquitoes in the room, and the bites always appeared in the morning. The issue completely disappeared once we changed hostels, confirming it wasn’t mosquitoes.
I really hate leaving a negative review, but we ended up sleeping poorly because of this issue. On top of that, the tables in the rooms were full of ants, and there was no daily cleaning — our room was never cleaned during the entire week.

The bets were a little bit hard

Location is quite central in the island. The vibe within the hotel with divers was good
This hotel was supposed to have good WiFi, that was the reason why I booked two nights as I had to work. Yet the WiFi connectivity was very poor which truly frustrated me. Also I have to say , the staff wasn’t as friendly as in other hotels

Location is great, it has a pool, doesn't get too noisy. Staff are friendly and the room was a decent size. Great value for money I thought.
The pillows are insanely big and not in a good way. My bathroom didn't drain well so didn't smell the best, but they had a deodorizer thing I moved into there and that largely solved problem.

Pool, social events organised by the hostel, close to everything, bed and bathroom pretty good!
Staff were nice but had a weird vibe, they didn’t seem bothered about making me welcome after I turned down the 3-day diving course

Good location, great Hispanic community, pool was very nice
Air conditioning worked but the cover of the unit was broken and the compressor made a quite loud low rumble noise. Cleanness was just ok (no cleaning during accommodation). Amenities and room is very bare minimum (no water bottle, no hair dryer, fridge, safe, hangers for clothing, etc)

We loved this hostel, the staff are so friendly and will do anything for you (we are english so unsure why people have said they only interact with spanish guests or each other). The diving they provide is amazing, so dont miss out on that! The rooms are nice and clean. Perfect location for a good nights sleep but walking distance to restaurants and bars. It's a hostel, dont expect hotel grade rooms. We will definitely be back!
Bathroom was damp, so could have done with slightly better ventilation. Could do with a safe in the rooms.

Super friendly staff, good pool, convenient location next to the pier. They were really nice with letting us leave our bags too.
Bathrooms were not really clean, but not too bad. Would stay here again.

The location is great.
The lady at the reception was more focused on playing a game on her phone than checking us in. The bedroom was very poor for the price and the bathroom was awful and not clean at all. Koh Tao is an amazing island, and I’ll definitely come back but I’ll not stay at this place again.

Good diving training organised by the staff.
Staff very helpful and kind
Free water and fridge use.
bathrooms weren’t very clean
lockers under the bed were very dusty and dirty and almost impossible to lock - badly designed
leaking AC in the room
utensils in the common area were very dirty
all the staff were kind but mostly spoke in Spanish to each other so unless you speak Spanish it can feel a little awkward.

Snorkling tour, Diving, location for activities, close to many great food spots
It’s far from the main party scene of the island (Sairee Beach), very quiet so not right if you’re more into party

The dive school is the best I've had in whole koh tao. I been diving with 3 different ones and Isla tortuga was the only one that had good equipment & Good safety standards.
Whenever there was a problem the staff does everything to fix it. There is a social pizza night and bbq night which is lots of fun.
I stayed for 1 week, very good place, if you ar into diving.
There are no curtains on the beds.

Location from the pier. Nice balcony with pool view.
It was 'too Spanish' for me, everyone sitting in the social group outside was speaking Spanish. Didn't feel included because of this.
Room wasn't really clean and AC didn't get cold. So I didn't sleep very well. The room is quiet small for 4 beds.
Pool didn't get it because it looked too dirty.

Great location and friendly staff, nice, clean rooms too! Nice outdoor seating area with a bar and pool!
Not really a dislike, but the ladders up to bunks seemed really high (but maybe I'm just too short haha)

the staff is really friendly and make you feel at home. it’s great especially if you are traveling alone. the bbq night was really cool and also very good food!
it’s a little bit further away from the busy area, but you can still walk

Isla Tortuga is a really nice hostel to stay on Koh Tao. The staff is super nice and helpful. It’s great to have a balcony in the room. The beds are quite soft for Thai standards.
The beds don’t have curtains so not that much privacy. They are located next to the pier, there’s a lot of restaurants in the area but Sairee beach is a 10 minute walk. For me this wasn’t a problem but if you don’t feel like walking maybe find something closer.

We felt really at home at this hostel, very very nice staff! The diving school is awesome as well. Would recommend it to everyone if you want to go diving on Koh Tao! The private room felt like a hotel room and the pool is great.
Bathroom is outdated.

Amazing hostel! I wanted to stay for 3 nights and extended to 9 nights. Advice: to it early enough, as it is quickly booked out - especially in the high season.
The welcome was great, when I had problems with my AC they helped me directly and in the end I could even lend a laptop for a couple of days as I did not have mine with me.
Can totally recommend this hostel to socialise with people (also I liked that a lot of people were older than 25 years)- do the pizza night and go out afterwards - and have at the same time nice quiet nights and a chilled time during the day!
Muchas gracias por este gran tiempo!

The most comfortable bed I had in Thailand! Very clean and nice room. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Great located next to the pier but a bit far away from Sairee Beach and the center. For diving it’s the best you can get, for just chilling and socializing it’s very calm.

The double room itself is basic but has everything you need: good shower, comfy bed, AC and a nice porch.
The staff are all incredibly nice and are super helpful in everything: arranging bus/boat for onward travel, getting a good scooter to explore the island (250 baht) and so much more. There's BBQ/Pizza nights and a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Best is the diving! They offer high quality PADI courses and trips to very good prices. We took courses and went on over 6 dives with them, every single one was amazing!

amazing hostel! the pool/common area is great and the hostel is very social. they have parties, pizza nights, etc but at night it‘s very quiet. very close to the pier which is practical. would definitely stay there again!
the air circulation in the bathroom wasn‘t great so it started to smell really damp after a few days.

The community in Isla Tortuga was just great. The staff made me feel really welcomed. They cheered me up when I was down, Mikey gave me a ride when he saw me walking and they invited me to a super fun Diving Master party even if I had already left the hostel. The accommodation was also really good. Totally recommend this place!

This hostel is amazing! The community is incredible and so welcoming, we were always included. We met great people from all over the world. Staff was so helpful on our trip. I would definitely come go back and stay there and dive with them.
Thank you for the awesome stay!
