Really nice and friendly staff, enjoyed my stay there in a single room
The main road is a bit noisy

The location couldn’t be better. Close enough to the pier you can walk, across from 7-11, close to restaurants and shops. The woman running it is to the point but friendly once you check in. The room was spacious and at a great price. They offer scooter rentals and also water (hot and cold) for drinks / food. It’s close to the main road but not too loud and there is a balcony on each floor.
Needs slight updating but for the price it was incredible.

The lady that runs the place is a very kind lady.
I had to make an excuse to leave the day I got there, I stayed there previously and it wasn’t this bad last time. Alcatraz looks comfier. Mould over the bathroom ceiling and an AC that wouldn’t stop leaking, I moved hotel an hour after arriving.

The location was great, only a short walk up a hill from the ferry. We got the early ferry so had to wait to check in but there's a restaurant over the road which took us in and fed us while we waited. Also a 7/11 across the road which was good. There's loads of bikes for hire nearby and scuba clubs all around you so plenty to do.
The room was smallish and a bit damp but served its purpose - we didn't open the windows at all which would've helped but we really don't like midges so kept them shut. This was a good place for a couple nights but not for a long time.

nothing, dirty sheets, mould under the matress and the owner tried to scam us multiple times in our 3 day stay. Do yourself a favour and go anywhere but here!

The cleaner was nice
Everything and it was always damp and wet constant noise even ear plugs did not block it out the shower soaked the room holes in the ceiling and uncomfortable Bed, needs improvement throughout.
However very cheap if you need a very budget basic room. We would not return.

Nothing amazing, it's a decent place to stay. It's clean and not too noisy. Good location, 7min walks to the port. 7 eleven in front of the Hostel.
We saw some rats through the window on the roof...not the problem of the Hostel, it must be common in some other places.
The shower handler couldn't stand on the wall, but it's a really minor issue.
For the price, it's decent enough.

We read all the reviews and we were quite scared to come here. But was the cheapest option so we booked anyway!
Now, I don’t know what the people expect from a low budget hostel, in Thailand, on a little island, but was definitely not gross and dirty like the reviews say.
I think that if you wanna the maximum of the cleanliness and the super friendly staff with a perfect English, you can choose a nice resort there (plenty of them) so you can avoid to leave a review based on your “european” expectations. But, if you wanna spend less, be ready to a “normal thai standard” hostel, this is very recommended and I’m so sorry about their bad reviews.
Maybe some rooms are in front of the main road so they can be noisy (not our case)

We booked the non AC room, actual room was fine - had a big window and a fan, bed was big and comfy enough, plenty of room in there.
Was a very cheap room, lady at reception was friendly enough and helped me to rent a scooter.
Location is decent, less than a minute from a big 7-eleven and right near Greasy spoon (our favourite breakfast spot).
Wasn’t a fan of the bathroom, shower either sprayed all over the sink and mirror or over the toilet and you have to stand about a meter away from it actually get touched by the water, the ceiling was leaking so we got dripped on when on the toilet, the faucet on the sink was very rusty and loose.

Nothing
Bed clothing was dirty, stains all over it.
Bathroom was absolutely filthy, the light barely worked had to use a flash light when showering, the toilet had no lid at the top so we couldn’t flush the toilet. There was mould on the walls and the floor was absolutely filthy. Felt like something from a horror film to be honest.
Ants in the room plus spiders in the bathroom.
The walls were absolutely filthy and room felt very very damp to the point where we were sticky.
A/C may as well have not worked and only one tiny fan working despite them giving us two.

Not much
This was place was horrible.
I stayed for four nights and NOT ONCE was my room cleaned, despite me asking for this. I messaged management requesting new towels, pillowcases and bed sheet cover due to sweating. I never got these items.
My room had black mould in the curtains and on the windowsill. The mattress had some weird plastic covering under the sheet which made me overheat and sweat throughout the nights. The bathroom toilet seat paint was peeling and had gone an off yellow colour (I put toilet paper over it before going to the toilet because it was really gross). It also looked like mould was growing on the toilet seat.
The floors were slimy so I wore thongs the whole time.
At night the heat was so incredibly bad. My room had only one fan and no fly screen on the window, so had to close the window which made things worse.
The bathroom light switch was pushed in and it was scary as I was worried it would electrocute me .
Unfortunately my experience at this hotel was really negative and I don’t recommend it at all. Do yourself a favour and do not stay here, you will regret it.

Great location less than 10 minutes walk from the pier. Big fan room, double bed, en-suite toilet and shower. Comfortable bed slept soundly, quiet location. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Good value for money.
No problem’s.

Very cheap, walkable from pier with backpacks. Shops near by, comfy bed and pillows. Clean floors and sheets. I read reviews about ants in the bathroom and our bathroom was clean and ant free luckily.
Free towels, coat hangers, shower was nice when it worked.
IT IS TOO HOT TO STAY HERE.
Only had access to a fan it was so hot but then the electrics went off during the night and early hours which stopped the fan, plugs, water, shower, toilet flush from working.
This has been my worst nights sleep since backpacking because it was just too hot to get to sleep.
Reception was empty when we arrived but a guy came out shortly after.
No kettle and fridge although that isn’t advertised we knew it was a basic stay.

A lot of mold, if you keep the window open at all time its not so much of a bother but with the window closed I got a headache. But I guess you get what you pay for :)

Location is close to shop and pier/dive shops/places to eat.
This place really was awful. We booked as it was so cheap. It was SO HOT. 1 fan in the room is just unbearable, it was so hot and muggy. The walls were dirty, the place is shabby and the bathroom was terrible. Broken toilet and very dirty. Years of grime. We really do have low backpackers standards but we had to move after 'sleeping' here as it was so hot.
Staff presence is basically non existent.

The crew is really sweet and helpful. We were allowed to check-in in the middle of the night, although we had just booked the following night.

Staff was kind of unwelcoming and it felt like they didn't want to check me in as I had made the booking on the same day and they didn't know about someone still coming.
It was a cheap offer, so I didn't expect any luxury place, however the fan didn't work, the ceiling was mouldy, the toilet cistern wasn't covered at all.

Very stinky room, moldy, badly cleaned, cockroach and bed flees. Had reserved for 6 nights left after the first night, no reembursment, wrote Booking.com about that issue and they never got back to me

For the price, being around £3 pp per night, it was the cheapest accommodation by far. Laundry services made washing smell so so nice and the lady was lovely.
We were greeted by clearly a volunteer who didn't care about the fact he checked us in to a used dirty room. We had to get moved to another room, where we stayed for the time. It had a fan that made screaming noises, and didn't really make the room any cooler. Ceilings were black with mold, curtains moldy too. The shower pressure was awful and the attachment to the wall fell off so couldn't shower properly at all. No soap provided. No top of the toilet either so flush etc wasn't covered. Room was horrifically hot all the time. Mattress material was slippery so fitted sheet never stayed on sheets were stained and blood stains on room door. By far the worst accommodation I've stayed in during my entire travels

property was cheap and the host was very friendly and accommodating.. provided cheap laundry service and offered scooter rental, location was excellent, right by the pier which was convenient, we felt safe in the property also
rooms were a bit outdated and visibly dirty, ants in the bathroom.. fan provided enough breeze for it to be comfortable… nothing too bad but definitely not the place to stay if you’re looking for luxury

private room was disgusting. There was mold everywhere which Made the entire room smell very moldy and the toilet was broken so that you got sprayed with water when flushing it. the bed was a matress that was made Out of a really uncomfortable material. No cheap price can justefy this room!
