The woman checking us into and out of the hotel was unfriendly and made us wait for other guests who arrived after us to check in before she would help us.

The staff really went out of their way to be helpful and made my stay a real pleasure. The breakfast was excellent, and I had two very tasty dinners as well. Highly recommended!

A wonderful family-run hotel in a small hamlet. Fabulous service, great food, comfortable rooms, even an indoors swimming pool and a sauna bath. Great Finnish sauna, also. A great example of a traditional, romantic Austrian country hotel. When arriving by train, it is a good idea to pre-arrange transport from the Mallnitz-Obervellach train station - there are no taxis around, and the station is quite far from any village.
