Great location for walking to lake, comfy room and bed, bars and restaurants round the corner, all good

Not so good experience for us The property is tired and in need of a refurbishment.furniture in our room was very old and Missmatched during our 2 day stay we saw nearby properties offering much better accommodation for a lesser price It was also not clear on the website that breakfasts are not provided . Im not a person that normally leaves reviews but very disappointed.

Comfortable rooms and great location

We had a lovely stay here. There is on street parking, and also you can park at the back. The hotel owner was friendly and helpful with any advice you needed with regard to nearby walks and amenities. We came with friends for a seventies themed murder, mystery night. The photo you see was taken in the hotel's front garden. The hotel was also very close to all amenities. The room was comfortable and we were well supplied with towels and toiletries. I think the room was good value for money, considering this is Windermere. I would recommend this hotel for couples or friends and family.

We will be coming back it was the perfect break

Everything was comfortable and clean. Loved the extra space on our room. (And Mark even upgraded us!) Location was steps from Bowness highlights. Would love to return if possible.

Great location and friendly hosts

Arrived 15:15 where we met another guest in car park. He went 5mins ahead of us to check in. When we arrived he was sitting at a table outside. He said he'd rang the bell. We also rang bell. Greeted by Mark holding a baby (adults only?) saying "Yes" as though who are you? Taken aback we explained "we have a booking." "You better come in." We were then told, due to a bereavement the cleaner could not make it, so the room not ready and will be an hour. "You can wait here or go for a walk. "YOU DONT HAVE ANY OPTION REALLY." We then had to leave our luggage in an unsecure room with other luggage. The other guest had travelled for 5 hours and was looking forward to getting into his room, and having a cuppa. We were not offered anything!!!! We were informed mark knew about situation at midday over 3 hours earlier, but didn't think to text us. YET!!! On our last day he emailed and texted at 9am reminding me we had to be out at 10:30. Imo this text was intended to hit notification tone on my phone to ensure we were awake!!!!! We did not see him again throughout our 2 night 3 day stay, untill we were leaving. Where he stood by front door like some kind of guard ensuring you left by 10:30. The other guest like us was not impressed either, and like us won't be back. Yes understand unforseen circumstances! But he had 3 hours notice. Put tea/coffee juice out? You're in hospitality......Be hospitable? Disappointed as cheaper options were available at time of booking. Not impressed!!!!!!!

Elim House was absolutely perfect - it’s close to shops and restaurants and is an easy walk from Lake Windermere. I would definitely stay here again!

Lovely hotel - staff so friendly- situated in the heart of bowness just perfect

Good communication from the host. Nothing to not like about the guest house. Everything provided for and lovely and quiet with close access to all amenities. Reason for the 4 star is that it is no frills. If you’re looking for a basic guest house at a reasonable price I would recommend it.

Very helpful and convenient to have an on-site electric vehicle charger. Even better to only be charged the cost incurred by the property.

Enjoyed our stay. Convenient location with easy parking. Room was nice and clean.

Mark was very friendly and accommodating to our questions or requests. The room was very clean and was everything that we needed for a base following our biking activities and a wedding evening do. Only downside was that you couldn’t eat breakfast on-site but we found plenty of places that did breakfast in Bowness within walking distance down the road.

Excellent location and the room was spotless, a great base to visit the lakes and the short walk down to the lake Windermere. Mark and Grace are the perfect hosts would highly recommend.

The accommodation was a little bit tired coulddo with an update with modern furniture. Bedroom very clean and lovely bathroom

Stayed in coach house, just have to be careful on stairs outside. Good location, nice garden at the front of property.

Business trip and this was exactly what I wanted. No fuss. Attention to detail is fabulous.

Check-in was easy and very pleasant. My room was lovely and snelled fresh and clean. There was a hospitality tray with tea, coffee biscuits. Mark was very helpful in outlining the area, and directing me to the lake. As a solo traveller I felt safe and comfortable at Elim House.

Amazing hosts at Elim house, our room was spotlessly clean and we could not fault it, can’t wait to stay here again!

Very pleasant. Covid measures made us feel safe without effect services too much.

Room was very clean when we arrived. Covid measures in place. Only 10 mins walk to the lakes. Restaurants and shops walking distance too. Friendly host. Over all highly recommended.
