The Charming Trocadero Eiffel Tower

The room is very cute and the location within Paris is excellent. Close to Trocadero, the metro, loads of restaurants, bars, pharmacies, grocery stores, etc. The place is super charming in its design. It has nice amenities for a low needs stay (mini fridge, coffee maker, some dishes and silverware, a sink, a microwave, etc.). Perfect apartment for just needing a place to sleep, shower, maybe hang out a bit to have coffee in the morning or eat some leftovers before heading back out into the city. The shower is pretty cool with a nice overhead head and also a handheld attachment. Also, the apartment felt very safe, being behind two code-locked doors and being in a quiet outdoor alcove in the building. I had ZERO issues with noise and didn't see another person back there the whole time I was there. I had zero issues picking up the keys or getting into the building, which is a huge relief! I didn't need to reach out to the owner/renter at any time, but they were very proactive with their communications, sending me instructions, etc. It was a very smooth process. Though the place is worn down and needs some love (see below), I was very happy with my stay here compared the other place I rented in Paris earlier in my trip.

The apartment is next to where they keep the trash bins - nothing the owner can do about that and I didn't have any issues with smells, animals, or noise during my stay but it's something to be aware of when you go, they are literally right next to the door. There are a few things that are wildly inconvenient and could be fixed easily - the biggest of which (for me) was the lack of a place to hang towels before and after showering. There are some towel rings on the sink cabinet, but they are far too low to the ground to work for full-sized towels (and honestly, didn't work well for even a hand towel). Adding some hooks to the divider wall on the bathroom side would cheaply and easily solve this problem. It might sound like a silly thing to point out, but not having anywhere good to put my dry towels before a shower and my wet towels after a shower was a constant source of frustration. The chairs at the little table in the kitchen are very cute but extremely uncomfortable. The mini fridge door scrapes against the floor, causing scratches to be worn in the floor and making it hard to open and close the door. The locks are quite difficult to lock and unlock (I had a bit of panic when trying to get in the first time that I wouldn't be able to open the door but finally managed it with huge exertion). One of the windows lost its outside slat and it's just been leaned up against it. And lastly I noticed a lot of dings, scratches, chipped paint, etc. that could be touched up easily and cheaply. Though the place is super cute and I was happy there, the more I looked around the more it felt like the property was not being maintained and as a guest it does leave you feeling less good about the place the longer you are there and the more easily fixable things you spot that have been left undone.

Apartment is comfortable and in a good location. Design is attractive and well laid out. It's small, but adequate for a couple for a few days.

Property manager is unresponsive. To get into the property, I had to a key from a box at a laundromat a couple of hundred yards from the property. I was supposed to get an access code by text message, which didn't arrive. I phoned the property manager and was able to get access. However, after leaving the property, I needed an invoice for the stay. I sent several messages to the property manager and tried to phone, but got no response. Eventually I had to phone Booking to request the invoice, which I haven't received yet.
