Perfect night amongst the Dunes to enjoy each other’s company

We booked Hotel Donny last minute after a couple of days in Lille and a trip further up the Belgian coast. We were looking for some rest and relaxation after a busy few days and Hotel Donny gave us exactly that! The room was comfortable and enormous, a welcome surprise after budget hotel stays! We ventured down to the beach and woke up to the sounds of the trams with the sea rolling as we enjoyed a coffee on our balcony looking out to the beach. The Sanocentre was a perfect afternoon to enjoy each other’s company and look after ourselves. Breakfast was fabulous with so much choice! The manager was incredibly approachable and we enjoyed our conversation with him, the atmosphere was exactly what we hoped for and we enjoyed every minute at the property! We can’t wait to return!

A relaxing hotel with great breakfast, spa facilities, and a convenient location near the beach.

The breakfast was generous with coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. The pool and both steam and dry saunas were excellent and not crowded. The room was larger than expected, the hotel had parking, and the location was calm and close to the beach.

The parking area was limited, so once you left, your previous spot might not be available. The beds were not very comfortable and moved easily, which made sleeping difficult.

Nice stay walking distance to the beach

Very nice loacation in the top of a Hill and walking distance to the sea side. The hotel is confortable and clean, the room was very big. It is very easy to wal to the sea and you can park your car inside.

Exceeded expectations

The sauna features/showers and pool, the bed comfort and the room set up. Great amount of parking. Location was perfect.

Hours of sauna, wish it was longer/later. Circulation in room due to the shower was lacking, created humidity, couldn’t open blinds to window due to lack of privacy/other room had direct sight to look in our room.

The service of the waiter and his attitude. And yes we know that its hard to find good staff due to covid. I would suggest the management to sent this waiter for a stage to the Netherlands and let him experience what it is to serve guests. Our overall experience would have been fabulous without it.

Hotel Donny takes good care of its customers during Covid-19 times

Well-organised. The meal service worked well. Most of the staff were very nice. The pool area was well made.

The light switch of the bathroom was outside, which was not optimal during the night for the person sleeping next to it. Some noise from maybe the plumbing.

Breakfast was well organized and offered a nice range of options. The pool and the spa area were nice and clean, not too crowded. The room was fine, plenty of space, I'd say clean but definitely I would not rate it 4 stars. The rate we paid is higher than what we got, but unfortunately the coast is very expensive in general. The hotel has a nice reception area with a bar, but coffee is made out of an automatic machine and not a proper bar coffee machine, which I think a 4 star hotel should definitely do.

Really great hotel, breakfast was well adapted to the corona-virus guidelines, felt safe. The room was great, I traveled with my dog so took a junior suite so he would have space. Excellent location - short walk to the beach. Recommend this hotel and I will be back!

A really lovely hotel that exceeded our expectations! A great place to stay!

We were recommended to this hotel and were so glad we were! It exceeded our expectations in every aspect! The staff were super pleasant and welcoming, the room, fresh, spotless and very comfortable. There was a very lovely health centre, (didn’t use on this occasion). The jewel in this hotels crown is the breakfast which was superb! (One thing to note if you like a good cup of English breakfast tea...bring your own teabags! 😂They had a large range of fruit teas and earl grey which is great for some but if you fancy your usual morning brew then definitely byo!)
