Nice place.

Good value for the money. And I really like the location in Assmanshausen as a base for exploring the Rhineland by boat or train. Beds were surprisingly comfy, and breakfast decent. I great option if you are looking to save some money.

A CRAZY hotel experience, but Rheinstein Castle across the river was amazing and a must see!

The breakfast was excellent and the cook was the best part of the stay. He was also staying in the hotel and was helpful when no one else was.

Under new management. I was told several times that they had only taken ownership of the property 5 days before we arrived. So things were hectic... Upon arrival there was no check-in desk or place to get your key. They were under construction with workers everywhere. We felt like they were not ready for business or that we were disturbing them. The decor needs a total revamp, and is very 1960s. Maybe that's why all of the construction is happening. The new manager was present when we arrived and initially seemed helpful and friendly. Our first night was ok and after a lovely breakfast we left for a day of sight seeing and intended to stay another night. When I returned I received quite a shock! I had come back alone in the evening to my room which would not unlock with the key provided and I thought I could hear there was someone in my room! The person wasn't responding when I knocked which scared me even more. I looked through the keyhole and saw a man sitting on the end of my bed and was really freaked out! The manager was no where to be found. His young son was there and tried to explain, but then he just left, disappeared and left the building. It was the craziest experience I've ever had at a hotel. They did not tell us and just packed all of our things, touched everything I owned, loosely threw in my suitcases and moved it all to another room because they apparently had double booked my room! It made no sense what-so-ever. They could have just put the new arrival in the other room. Absolutely unacceptable for them to rent the room to me and then move all of my stuff with out asking. Unless there was some disaster inside the room like a pipe bursting or something I would never ever expect any hotel staff to go touch any of my belongings. I did not stay the 2nd night after that. I decided to leave because I was so uncomfortable and upset after what they did.

A pleasant budget hotel that is a good B&B

Nice hotel overlooking the Rhine. A good breakfast.

The restaurant closes at 5pm so far too early, but there are restaurants within walking distance. There isn't any air conditioning and it was very hot during our visit, so be prepared for this during the summer.

Bad customer care

The decor was very nice.

We had to leave early the next morning and couldn't wait for breakfast which was included in the stay. We asked the receptionist/owner if we could pay the accommodation without breakfast included and he refused to compensate.

Superb

Very good breakfast served at the table. The view over Rhen river from the room and restaurant is excellent. Varm and welcoming reception at the hotel. Ni trouble to change check-in time. Assmanhausen is quiet and nice. It´s near to Rüdesheim. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. Good value.

A nice small inn, right on the Rhine

This is a small, family-run inn located right on the Rudesheim-Lorch riverfront road. Our room had a beautiful view of the Rhine. And because the road to Lorch was closed for repairs, it was completely quiet at night. Wonderful! The room itself was basic….about what one would expect from a roadside inn. (The bathroom was small but recently renovated with new fixtures.). Clearly the family that runs this place takes pride in their work. Oh, and the breakfast food was excellent…..the manager told me they use local produce, and it was great.

* Good location if walking the Rheinsteig * Short walk to selection of restaurants * Power shower - a bit needle-like but nice after a long day walking * Host very proactive in contacting to arrange time for check-in & very flexible when O arrived a bit earlier than planned

* Pillows - too soft for good neck support * Shower takes ages to heat up * WiFi connectivity so-so & mobile data service patchy (Vodophone)

Nice river-view , reasonable stay for this rate.

Nice view of the river Rhine from the hotel restaurant , and from our room , direct access to the path along the river where you can walk/run/relax. Quiet area and away from tourists. Overall it is ok for this rate that we paid.

NO-Elevator , this should be mentioned more clearly; and it is an old building with noisy floor. This is a family run hotel , more like a big b&b , the owner seems friendly , but offered no help/assistance. BF is bland.

pleasant location

Location is wonderful , literally overlooking the beautiful river Rhine. Breakfast included in price which was good. We arrived in the evening so it was very convenient to have up and running restaurant at hotel itself without needing to go out and look for places to eat.

We stayed in some really spacious rooms and apartments on this trip as a family so by the time we came to hotel Post we were a bit spoiled. Found room a bit stifling and a tad disappointed not to have a window overlooking river Rhine as that would have compensated for a cluttered feeling in the room.

Mit Markus und Ivonne eine schöne Zeit verbracht

Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt und haben uns sofort wohlgefühlt. Das Hotel ist sehr retro, hat aber Charme. Lage: direkt am Rhein. Wir haben super gut geschlafen und tolle Ausflüge gemacht. Und abends haben wir mit unseren herzlichen Gastgebern und Gästen auf der Terrasse verweilt. Übrigens sind die Torten und Kuchen 🍰 im Hotel Café Post ein Muss❣️

Ein Manko gab es, aber dafür kann keiner der Gastgeber etwas: mitten durch Assmannshausen führt eine stark frequentierte Bahnstrecke. Nur nachts ga es Ruhe von der Bahn

Urlaub beim NDW-Schlagerstar Markus

a: Die unmittelbare Nähe zum Rhein, zur Seilbahn zur Niederwaldhöhe und zum Bahnhof um die Ecke. So konnten wir auch mal mit Glas Wein auf der Bank am Rheinufer sitzen, aber auch das Auto stehen lassen, mit der Seilbahn zum Niederwald und ganz einfach per Bahn nach Rüdesheim und Eltville fahren. b: Die herzliche Umsorgung durch das neue? Betreiberpaar Markus und Yvonne. Man kann ihnen nur wünschen, dass sie in das Vintage Hotel & Restaurant weiter bedacht neuen Stil und Schwung bringen, damit noch mehr gern zu ihnen kommen.

Nicht so abwertend gemeint: Parkplatz über 200m weg, dafür aber kostenfrei! Die Zimmer sind nicht alle so komfortabel, wie das von uns benutze und bewertete (WC z. T. auf dem Gang), aber alle sauber und gepflegt. Wer also nicht unbedingt 3*+ aber preiswert und gute Atmosphäre sucht, nur zu

Hotel mit 70er-Jahre-Charme und Frühstück mit viel Luft nach oben.

Das Hotel liegt in unmittelbarer Nähe des Bahnhofs. Dort gibt es auch kostenlose Parkmöglichkeiten. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen. Positiv war auch eine Hotelterrasse mit Blick auf den Rhein. Die Zimmerausstattung ist wahrscheinlich aus den siebziger Jahren, aber sehr gepflegt. Das Zimmer und das Bad waren sauber. Es stand auch eine kleine Flasche Wasser und zwei Gläser bereit. Da es keine Klimaanlage gibt, ist es gut, dass Aussenrollos vorhanden sind. So erhitzt sich tagsüber der Raum nicht.

Wir hatten ein Zimmer zur Straße hin. Die zentrale Lage des Hotels hat leider negative Auswirkungen auf die Nachtruhe . Vor und hinter dem Hotel verläuft eine Bahnlinie und auch die Durchgangsstraße nach Rüdesheim ist vorm Haus. Wir hatten noch Glück mit dem Verkehrslärm, da Gleisarbeiten in Rüdesheim durchgeführt wurden und so die eine Linie nicht stark befahren war. Auch die Straße nach Rüdesheim war wegen Bauarbeiten in Rüdesheim nur in eine Richtung befahrbar. Was uns gar nicht zugesagt hat, war das Frühstück. Samstags wurde das Frühstück am Tisch serviert. Qualität und Quantität ließen zu wünschen übrig. Es gab für jeden zwei Brötchen. Diese erinnerten mich an schlecht zubereitete Aufbackware aus dem Discounter. Wurst und Käse kamen sicherlich auch von dort. Neben abgepackter Marmelade und Honig war das hart gekochte Ei noch das Highlight. Kein Brot, kein Toast, Müsli, Joghurt, Obst oder Tomaten. Es gab Filterkaffee und auf Nachfrage erhielten wir für zwei Personen eine kleine Kanne Wasser und vier Teebeutel. Es bekam nicht einmal jeder zwei Tassen Tee zu trinken.Nachdem wir bereits ca. eine halbe Stunde zuvor das karge Mahl verzehrt hatten, fragte mal jemand, ob wir noch was möchten. Am Sonntag gab es dann wenigstens ein Frühstücksbuffet. So könnte man Wurst und Brötchen nach Geschmack wählen und hatte die Möglichkeit mehr als eine Tasse Tee zu trinken. Der Inhaber hat das Hotel wohl im Juni übernommen. Sicherlich kann man in so kurzer Zeit nicht die Zimmer renovieren, aber mehr als drei Satches Duschgel für zwei Personen und zwei Tage und ein besseres Frühstück würden die Aufenthaltsqualität im Hotel immens verbessern.

Einfaches Hotel mit 50er Jahre Charme.

Wenn man eine einfache und günstige Unterkunft in guter Lage mit 50er Jahre Charme sucht und keine großen Ansprüche stellt, ist man da gut aufgehoben.

Es gab nachmittags keinen Kaffee und Kuchen als wir ankamen und das Frühstück war auch nicht so toll.Und es gab kein Toilettenpapier mehr auf der Toilette.

Es gibt neue Besitzer, die alles erst nach und nach modernisieren. Wir fanden es sehr gemütlich und vorallem sauber, das Frühstück total ausreichend. Mehr brauchten wir nicht.

Fenster dreckig, Fensterbrett war mit toten Fliegen geschmückt, unter der Matratze war kein Betten Rost sondern ein angeschimmeltes Brett, ekelhaft.

Nette Unterkunft in guter Lage

Wir hatten eine ganz angenehme Zeit in diesem Hotel. Die Lage war top - innerhalb von 5 Fußminuten war man am Bahnhof oder im Zentrum von Assmannshausen. Der Service war okay, sowohl Zimmer als auch das Bad nebenan waren sehr sauber. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, aber nichts besonderes - außer das gekochte Ei - das war auf den Punkt perfekt gekocht 😁 zusammenfassend eine positive Erfahrung.

Aufgrund der Nähe zum Bahnhof wurde man leider ab 6 Uhr morgens von den Güterzügen wachgehalten. Da das Zimmer recht klein war und nicht klimatisiert, war es für uns jedoch auch keine Option, das Fenster über Nacht zu schließen. Das Hotel liegt NICHT genau in Rüdesheim, sondern in Assmannshausen. Das hat bei uns zu Verwirrung geführt und könnte in der Anzeige vielleicht etwas deutlicher ausgeführt werden.
