This property is very spacious and has every amenity you could need. The outdoor heater on the balcony. The three terraces to capture the sun at every part of the day. The thoughtful goody bag. The two boot rooms with lots of storage space and the well stocked cleaning products. The decor and bedrooms were all well thought out and had plenty storage for bags on top of the wardrobes or in the walk in wardrobe in the triple room. It offers a true home from home in a good location, only a short wander into the hub of shops, restaurants and cafes

Ideal base for family

Home from Home. Everything you need. Attentive and helpful host. Spacious, well laid out. Quiet location. My octogenarian parents loved it. Ideal for accessing both Bowness and Windermere. Upside down house, so bedrooms are cool in the summer 😎. 0.7 miles to the The Ro Hotel (Wedding Venue) by car if anyone needs to know that. Would definitely stay here again. ❤️

Happy weekend as a group of six, and we all loved the facilities and would highly recommend.

Open feel and lots of natural light with balcony. A high standard of finish to the decor and kitchen facilities, and Lake District theme to pictures etc which was a nice touch. It’s in a convenient location for Windermere village and Bowness, with a walk to either being approximately 10 - 15 minutes dependent upon walking speed.

Home away from home.

Amazing and stunning property. Everything is well thought out from more than adequate towels, to dog treats, reading glasses, toothbrush, toothpaste and body wash. We particularly like the fact that the house was warmed up waiting for our arrival. Host was kind enough to not charge us for the soap dispenser that we accidentally broke.

Lovely, comfortable house with all you need. Great for couples or a family. 15mins away from town.

Place is lovely and the welcome basket was a life saver (toothpaste lol) and a lovely thing to do. Especially the wee things for the dog. The wee blanket and bowl. The house is very comfortable and lovely bedrooms. Everything was thought about. Right down to coat hangers (my pet hate) and enough towels. The water in the fridge was another very nice touch. Lovely home away from home. The host was great responded to me quickly and no problems at all.

For us it was a bit far out of the towns although it was bang in the middle of Windemere and Bon'ess but a bit of a walk at the end of the night. (15 mins, feels longer when you've walking 3 hours before lol) Toilets all downstairs where the bedrooms are. None upstairs. We had been thinking of bringing my elderly mother in law, this would not of worked for her. Also the garden is not fully gated off for your dog. But not a big deal. But if you had a dog that wasn't good on recall you would have to put it on a lead out in garden. A few cobwebs on the windows of the kitchen and the balcony could've done with another clean but I would imagine its very hard to keep it clean. Overall though the house was lovely. I would recommend it.

Lovely designed and light property. We loved the bunk beds especially and the little stream in the garden.

We liked everything. It was missing some dishwasher tablets and loo paper but it did have amazing other goodies such a toothbrushes and a shower cap!

Exceptional house and location.

Great location 15 minutes into Bowness and less than 10 minutes into Windermere. The house was spotless, very well equipped and warm. Garden and balconies to sit out weather permitting. Lots of free parking available on the drive and road. Lovely welcoming basket of goods on arrival.

The hosts were quick to respond and reach out to ensure we had everything needed. The facilities provided for the two young children were so helpful. All the small touches made our stay so delightful. Enjoyed reading on the balcony with the views.

One of the best experiences

Everything about the property is exceptional. Great location 18 minutes walk from the train station and only 15 minutes away from the lake. Located in a quiet area. The host Alison was very kind and helpful and offered her help the moment we booked. The The house was immaculately clean and smells so great, spacious, with comfortable beds. You will feel at home the moment you step in. Alison made sure that we find everything we need in the house and I literally mean everything! Full grocery were provided, welcoming basket full of snacks, another basket with basic needs shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste and toothbrushes, hand soaps. Washing detergents and dish washer soap were there. Sanitisers were all over the house. Full set of different size towels for every member. Different board games, and even reading glasses they literally thought of everything!!! Unfortunately we only stayed for 2 nights but those were unforgettable and I highly recommend this property and will definitely come back again. Thank you Alison for making this short stay exceptional.

Lovely house in walking distance to Bowness on windermere...

The house has parking for 2 cars, also has a charger for EV. When we entered the house the kitchen was well stocked with basic groceries like milk, bread, butter, oil, biscuits, cereals, wide variety of nespresso coffee pods etc. The quality of bed linens and towels were exceptional. Usually in rental apartments the washing machine is with inbuilt dryer which doesn't dry the clothes properly but here the washing machine and dryer are separate and a very good quality one. I would love to stay here again.

Fantastic stay in a great location with an amazing host!

We cannot recommend this place to stay enough! Already been telling all our friends and family about it. Perfect location, walking to Bowness in less than 10minutes. Plus plenty of pubs and restaurants on route. The house it’s self was immaculately clean and really modern interiors. As soon as we walked in we was blown away with all the complimentary items. With everything from a treats hamper including chocolates, biscuits, an abundance of toiletries and another with cooking essentials, tea, coffee and cleaning products. Far more than we ever expected! House is really warm and welcoming with great views from the balcony. The host, Alison was amazing at responding before arriving and even allowed us to check in earlier. Would 100% stay again and recommend this property for anyone looking to stay. Thank you Alison and Thornbeck Manor for a wonderful stay and creating a home away from home for us.

From walking in the front door the attention to detail is 100%. The full house was extremely clean, interior decorating was on point. the whole atmosphere of the house was amazing! where it is is such a perfect location to walk into bowness and also Windermere. The property was well appointed and in excellent condition. Lot of thought had gone into providing all kinds of amenities and facilities. Kitchen content was excellent and the bath rooms were very good. Wifi and TV worked well. As did the electric car charging pod.

Nothing especially important, to be honest. The slope down to the parking space has a steep hump which was grazing the bottom of my car so had to raise its suspension. Would be worth pre alerting those with low car threshold!

A spotlessly clean, brilliantly well equipped house in the heart of the Lake District.

This property is outstanding. We have never stayed anywhere as clean and well equipped. Beautiful crisp bed linen, fluffy towels - felt like being in a hotel. All bedrooms had fans. All kitchen appiliances worked well. And amazing welcome snacks and info. The best holiday rental we have ever had by a country mile.

Amazing place and host

5 star accommodation with a 5 star service from the owner Alison. There must have been around £70 worth of freshly purchased food and other essentials provided to us. Tea coffee milk jam butter and so much more - See pics. All items brand new and sealed ... it really made us feel at home and saved us alot of time shopping. Alison even gave us a hamper of goods - the Fudge didn't last the weekend and took the shortbread back for the Mrs. (See pics) We were instantly at ease and could begin a wonderful weekend in a perfectly located detached house which was 10 mins from Windermere centre and 10 mins from Bowness marina. Gorgeous little balcony overlooking the neighbourhoods rather picturesque gardens. Showers were powerful, heating perfect, kitchen was large with a dining area. Very spacious. It's not the cheapest but certainly worth every penny! Thank you very much again Alison... I can't wait to take the family next time.

Very enjoyable and would definitely recommend

The property was conveniently located so that only a 5-10min walk was needed to get to the centres of Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere (for restaurants, shops, etc). Also, the bus stops for the 599 open-top bus was at the end of the road which was really convenient as you could then travel further afield (Ambleside, Grasmere, etc.) without taking the car which was not always the best choice because of traffic and parking in the popular destinations. The property itself was well appointed and felt like a home from home. We especially liked relaxing in the living room watching Netflix/Amazon Prime at the end of a hard day's sight-seeing / walking!
