Very comfortable room with everything we needed. Perfect location, very nice breakfast and welcoming owners who genuinely care about their guests. We have been here a few times and look forward to returning again soon!

A great value for the money.

Loved our hosts, who were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were great, the room was very quiet, and the location was easy walking distance to the bus/train station and the town center.

The room was a bit tight, making it difficult to move around and access our suitcases.

So relaxing and beautiful scenery.

Beautiful garden, easy parking, really friendly owners greeted us full of information about the area. Lovely cotton sheets and soft pillows. Accommodated my Gluten free/dairy free issues including GF cookies in the room snacks. Location is very close to Windermere town and restaurants and only 1-1/2 mile walk or bus ride to the lake. Breakfast was delicious and catered exactly to our requests.

Room was a little small but that’s normal for England.

Everything about our stay was first class. The closeness of the village and the boats is ideal.

This is just a personal comment but we prefer a walk in shower.

Unpleasant

We stayed for two nights. Jonathan was a lovely, welcoming host; however, my experience with the other host was upsetting. On our second morning, three tables that arrived after me were served before I was. No one explained why. I later learned they were holding my order until my partner arrived, but no one informed me of this when I was seated. When I was finally addressed, the host spoke with an attitude as she cleared my table and made another unnecessary comment about me “determined to get THAT table”. I didn’t realize I had requested for the same table by the window the day before but she said it was not clean and to choose another table. She also expressed annoyance that I was eating without my partner, saying they “serve breakfast to both guests together.” When I said I didn’t know when my partner would join, she remarked with annoyance, within earshot of other guests that it would help to avoid “food wastage as people are starving in the world.” People at nearby tables gave me sympathetic looks. I was so upset I couldn’t even finish my meal. Mind you the food is made to order so incase my partner couldn’t make it breakfast, there would’ve been no wastage. Clear communication and basic courtesy would have avoided this. I appreciate Jonathan’s kindness, but the other host’s demeanor left me feeling singled out and embarrassed.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.

Everything. I can't honestly find a fault. Our suite was delightful, beautiful and cosy. Everything worked. All the appliances, e.g. kettle, iron, were top of the range, and all of the furniture well-chosen and comfortable. Our hosts were friendly. One of the best hotels I've stayed in anywhere. I cannot recommend it too highly.

Grasping at straws for a criticism, but the toast was made with the cheapest bread, which seemed a surprising oversight. But that's the only tiny negative I can think of!

A really exceptional, personalised experience.

The property is as immaculate in real life as the advertising suggests. The owners have exceptional attention to detail and show their long industry experience in every aspect. The breakfast is first class and served promptly. The chef is excellent. I certainly recommend the Afternoon Tea, which was the best I have received, and that includes The Ritz. The owners have a wealth of local knowledge. Make sure you listen to their restaurant recommendations.

The Best B&B

We loved the hosts, the accommodation, the comfort, the decor, the breakfast, the calm surroundings, and the ambience within Cedar Manor- in particular the choice of relaxing background music played during the evening and breakfast 🥰.

We really didn't like the early checkout time. It would have been perfect if check out was at noon rather than 10.30am. Everything else was perfect!

My daughter Leanne and I had a wonderful stay at Cedar Manor. We were warmly welcomed by Jonathan (somebody, someone! lol). The hotel is beautiful, comfortable, welcoming inside and out.

Everything about the property was just outstanding, to the beautiful gardens outside to the gorgeous rooms inside it was the perfect place for us to relax and unwind after our wedding. The owners were so friendly and helpful, they had even left rose petals on the bed and a bottle of fizz for us on arrival as it was our mini moon.
