Total lack of sleep due to very very very hard mattress

The location

Beds were extremely hard, very poor sleep if any sleep. Loads of mould on the pillows and filthy duvets, shower was rotten. Hotel was very very poor for cleanliness . I would not recommend .

Very basic bare minimum comfort. Run down resort in an amazing location.

The location is perfect- right on the beach and you can walk 5min along the beach to Mae Haad in one direction, or 5min along the road to Sairee Beach “walking road” in the other. The room air con works and the shower was hot.

Very basic - hot shower, a/c and somewhere to sleep but no safety box in the room, rock hard mattress, sand on all floors and bird poop on the balcony. You have to request sheets to be changed and the rooms and corridors get minimal cleaning - all are dirty in the corners. The whole hotel is run down with cracked tiles, rusty old equipment in an unused gym, broken things in flower beds, and old rusty car in a ditch out front. The breakfast is poor - the very basics only. The restaurant has an amazing position on the beach but is as worn out as everywhere else. Basic food, nothing special. The staff tick the box but rarely smile. With investment, this could be an amazing resort but right now it’s cheap and not so cheerful.

Pleasent hotel showing it's age little, no lift available unfortunately to levels , room was very clean and comfortable large room as we were upgraded beach balcony view which was stunning , excellent swimming pools and direct on the beach ⛱️ also stunning, staff very helpful and friendly nice breakfast available excellent bars and restaurants on beach and in town only 5 minutes walk spoiled for choice nice night market and shopping mall everything you could need there , amazing fresh sea food , lots activities available on beach and beyond easy to book also easy to organise from pier to city and back taxi,bus or transfer service, nice experience enjoyed every single moment

A bit old hotel in a good location

Beautiful view from our room. Friendly stuff (provided us with fresh beach towels daily). Good location on the beach, close to the pier and restaurants + there is a free shuttle to the pier.

The hotel is just a bit ungroomed, the walls are dirty, the doors of the rooms in the hallways looked broke, the common toilets also dirty, there is no elevator (and we were living on the third floor). The location is good but the hotel is below a very steep slope which was quite tiring to climb and quite hard to climb for a scooter (not for inexperienced drivers). When it comes to the rooms itself there were ants in our room. The toilet was dirty, the counter next to the sink had damp patches and marks of soap. The shower head was barely working and there were damp patches on the ceiling and a whole!

Great stay, enjoyed it a lot

This resort is a great value for money! Location is fantastic - right on the beautiful beach and at the same time very short walk to the ferry and all shops. Pools are nice, breakfast is decent. Also I enjoyed the hotel restaurant - prices are very good and view is breathtaking. Rooms are nice - lots of space and a balcony. Hotel staff is welcoming and polite. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again when visiting Koh Tao.

The hotel is a bit tired, gym is in shambles. But again, for the money I paid I can deal with that.

We saw so many bad reviews of this place, but honestly we don’t agree with them at all! The place was clean and lovely the pool was super big and with a beautiful view! It’s right by the ocean and 5min walk on the beach to the port and 10min walk to Sairee beach.

Relax and calm vibe with beautiful room and beach view

The property is well located close to the pier (5 min walk on the beach). On the other side, 5 min from the famous Sairee beach strip. Yet the place is calm and relax vibe. Everyone is super respectful of this and you’ll leave feeling regenerated. The hotel was beautiful(might need a bit of love), with a great beach sitting in front. The view I believe is the best I saw around the island. Sunset are guaranteed. The food was incredible and authentic. Most of all, our stay was made special by the staff/team there. In particular, So was incredibly lovely and went above and beyond to make our stay special. I will remember our time there as the most special memory of Thailand/Koh Tao. I will definitely be back and stay at Regal.

Location perfect between main village and popular main beach Sairee beach. Short walk to both. Hotel right on the beach. Good value for the money. Old and dated but ac and location and breakfast Ok in thai standards.

Hotel has not been maintained for a while. Lots of things around property is broke and just left so. Like all of the gym is broke down. Guests are allowed to smoke cannabis all day long on property . Smells up to the 3 floor early in the morning. Good or bad ?

the food at the restaurant for dinner was actually some of the best we had eaten on the island except breakfast was a little limited and bland. can highly recommend the Penang curry and the Caesar salad. the view from the front Seaview villas were amazing! 180 degrees of ocean front and they are huge rooms with wraparound balconies.

the pool was very difficult to get in and out of. the tiles were very slippery and also had sharp jagged edges which put us off going to the pool. dangerous for older people and kids. our room door was very difficult to open and spent 5-10 every time we left trying to get back in (room 301). the lack of help to get the door fixed as we were staying there 10 nights and no one fixed it.

Old, facilities are not OK. Towels are like RAGS.Things are run down. We stayed 5 nights, BF were the same. Telly was not to watch. Lighting are bad. We asked for the room change as the second lock was broken, the staff told us to move pillows by ourselves. The first day we asked for towels, as they re not provided, the mate unlocked the door and came in without asking permission. A lot more to complain.

The location is excellent with a short walk to town along the beach, or better yet, along the path outside the hotel to a lovely area of restaurants and greenery. The food is inexpensive and good and breakfast was enjoyable. The restuarnat staff made our stay better. Our room was spacious with a marvelous view and lots of hot water.

The owner of the hotel is the head of the Ko Tao government and uses his facililty to host government events. The noise from the their evening parties and the amount of people in the restaurant was too much. The seminar was just above our room so there was no escape from the noise. Additionally, the hotel is used reguarly to host students on field trips and again the hotel is not really equipped to handle them. Three times we felt we had to go out, although could have stayed, because we felt like uninvited guests at a wedding. There are only 7 loungers (two where broken) on the beach and getting in and out of the pool is a nightmare. The whole hotel is run down and in need of some serious maintenance (beyond the Covid disrepair seen everywhere). The restaurant closes between 2:30 and 4:00 just when you want a cold drink, although the staff do need a break time. House cleaning was cursory at best.

Nice location by the sea, two large and clean pools. Furniture was a bit old but everything was clean and they have been cleaning our room regulary. Nothing to complain in this matter. Breakfast were also fine.

Overall looking of the resort is a bit weird, it has a feeling like its going to be closed pretty soon. At the reception there is broken floor (slabs) - not very representing plus some used and old things are left on the floor, the corridors look very old and worn. But these things does not affect your stay, just will give you a bizzare feeling. Just a bit more maintenance would make a big difference.

Right at the beach. But the beach isn’t the best on Koh Tao. Take your scooter and drive a couple of minutes to get to better beaches. The pool is quite big but the entry is old and feels a little bit dangerous. The staff was very nice and did always a good job.

the proximity near the pier and diving centres was amazing! Sairee beach was a stones throw away where all the night life was. The staff were very accommodating- we were going for diving and missing our breakfast. they accommodated us and gave us breakfast once we came back.

Great location, perfect base for diving+ snorkelling

Really good location (you can walk from the pier) and it's right on the beach. If you want to go a little further towards where more restaurants and bars, it's worth getting a scooter which you can rent from the pier or the hotel literally next to this one rents them out too. The hotel room is a little bit worn (as is nearly every hotel we've stayed in in Thailand this time around) but it's clean, balcony is lovely, breakfast included (choice of eggs, meat, fruit etc). Perfect really, just what we needed for our 3 night stay on Koh Tao!

It is very nice, peaceful and located on the beautiful beach and staff is just wonderful. Place is right on the beach and it is quiet. Just 5 minutes walk from shops and restaurants and walk is nice as also on the beach. It has restaurant which serves good and delicious Thai food ( its has western food but not in to it ) and is reasonably priced and has a great view. Specially want to say that the staff is so so helpful and friendly. Very nice people here. Been living for a few years around the Thailand and this is best ... well at least for me.
