Good for a short stay

Location was great, close to all shops, restaurants, and the beach. The swimming pool and view of the sea was lovely. Breakfast was also good.

A bit old, would require renovation (especially the bathroom). Can be a bit noisy if you’re staying during the weekend.

Worth it probably, quieter side of the island so away from loud music and all the chaos

It was lovely, really clean, really nicely decorated and overall just a great place to stay. The staff were really nice when we checked in. Resort side where the pool is, is very nice with good views. Location was ideal for quiet, a bit of a walk up to any of the lively bars, shops, beach clubs, restaurants etc.

It was pricey for what it was but it is probably due to the time of year.

Poor hotel but in a good location away from the constant heavy thumping music!

Pros: 1.Away from the thumping loud music so you can get a reasonably quiet night's sleep. 2. Decent staff members. 3. Good quality AC in the bedroom. 4. Good amount of soap in bathroom. 5. Fresh towels every day. 6. Good blackout curtains on the floor to ceiling windows. 7. Fridge and kettle.

Cons: Expensive restort so there are many: 1. 3% charge for using a credit card. 2. We were in the 2 story rooms across the road from the reception. There is construction work going on to build more of them so there's plenty of noise which starts early every day. 3. The AC in the bedroom brings in the smoke from small fires in the construction work/surrounding area. 4. Poor water pressure from rusty showerheads (rainhead plus handheld) and cool not hot water from the electric shower. 5. Bed linen not clean when we arrived. Mattress sheet very badly stained and it had been turned inside out to hide the fact that it was not fresh - probably. Mattress had body odour smell. 6. No bedside table or any other table in room. All fixures abd fittings in the room were run down - thats not a big deal of course. Just wanted to note it. 7. Pack of 3 dogs roamed around the area. One nipped me as I walked passed - frightening!. I told the guys at reception who were decent and helped. I think the dogs belonged to them although I'm not sure. 8. Electricity cut out for 1hr or so - only once though during our 4 night stay. It goes without saying that I'll never stay at the Clear View again and obviously can't recommend it - spend your money elsewhere... Koh Toa has some first class dive sites and that's why we all go there of course! But otherwise it's very noisy, extremely dirty, smelly and poorly looked after island that will probably just get worse in the future. There are better places to dive.

Accommodation for sunset lovers.

Good location with sea view. Every day cleaning. Pleasant cool and clean swimming pool. Close to restaurants and shops.

Only 1 easy chair on the patio for 2 people, whereas other bungalows had 3 easy chairs for 3 people. Although I asked for an extra chair, we did not get one. Sitting on the patio was no fun for 2 people like this. WiFi was very slow. After a power failure the router was not reset, so the there was no WiFi at all. Disappointing price/quality ratio.

Not a total disaster but they could easily make some good improvements

The location was amazing the the building was quirky.

The shower was awful and didn't get hot maybe lukewarm, but looked ancient. And was leaking from the electric shower unit. I had no power for one day due to a fault with the thing you put your key into to turn on power, but they fixed it pretty fast and the private beach area was full of plastic bottles, but of polystyrene and other rubbish. It took a few mins and a bin bag to pick that all up and I'm shocked the staff ignored such a horrible thing at their place.

Just about exceptable but at a cost!

The location was pretty good and near the main strip but thats about it. The prices for less then average accommodation overall in Thailand have increased substantially. They are now inline with major western city prices but without the huge government operating and staff costs. The margins would be huge based on the wage rates for predominantly Mayanmar staff. The days of a cheap holiday in Thailand are long gone! Tourism numbers are diminishing at a rate due to the strong baht and huge price hikes. The smoking of cannabis through the hotels, bars and restaurants in Koh Tao will only deter people from retuning again

Koh Tao is a special place and I will be back.

I was in the rooms without a sea view however they were still very spacious, clean and well kept. I extended my stay as I was very happy there.

I would say that the only thing that is missing was a shelf for luggage and another location to hang clothes. There is plenty of room.

Location Walkable distance (just over 1km) from the pier

Misleading photos : the only reasons I booked this property because of its location and the OCEAN VIEW. When I booked I was expecting gorgeous views (not as good as in the website but at least an obstructed view of the ocean) but I got was a room (completely different wing from the nice ones) facing a construction site and white bamboo scaffolding 15 meters in front of you and that’s all you can see. I asked the owner why, he told me many other tourists make the same mistake. I told him back if so many people fall for this trap why not change the photo on the room selection on booking.com to reflect this issue Cleanness The room and bathroom are sweep and clean but the towels and bedsheets are not so. Every morning i wake up with rashes (allergic reactions) mostly on my arms, neck and thighs since i wear t-shirts and shorts for sleep. I do have a very sensitive skin though. Room Very basic, not even a chair to sit on (there is a stool)

Great location and service

Great resort very close to the beach. The room was spacious and clean and gorgeous sunset views from the swimming pool. The service was really good too. They kindly stored my suitcase for two days while I visited another island and received a parcel I was expecting. I would stay here again without doubt.

Simple and overpriced Koh Tao cabins near sea and restaurants.

Great location on the island. Near beach, restaurants and dive centers.

- We paid € 200,- per night for the ‘triple superior sea view suite’, which has 80% garden view and 20% sea view. Hugely overpriced. For Koh Tao, this is a max TB. 2000,- room ( € 50,-) - the room was a double room with a cramped bed added which made the room even smaller. - fridge did not work (but was replaced fast.) - there are ongoing building activities on the premises. (See other reviews). They are building rooms in front of the others. - the rooms lacked maintanace - there was storage of garbage and building left over on premises - the pool was not clean and compensated by a too high level of chlorine (which was not enough because the water was still green) -> I discussed this first day with the concierge but obviously…I cannot do anything, I only work here…’ I asked to pass the message and did not hear anything back.

Missed Opportunity – Great Location, but Expectations Not Met.

The location and the swimming pool are excellent.

What was disappointing was that it was messy and poorly maintained, and there were renovation works going on. The complex was dirty, although the hygiene in the rooms was fine.Additionally, the price/quality ratio was not good.

Not so clear view

The location has potential. Close to town, restaurants shops and bars.

The bungalow, chosen for it's ocean views unfortunately had a view of another bungalow in mid construction and with that came some noise. The booking listing was very misleading, it put the price discounted from 400euros giving the impression you have a great deal but the bungalow is not worth over 50-60euros a night due to the state of the rest of the property. It's not a resort! The style of bungalow was a little OTT it could do without the pink fluffy cushions and fluffy carpets. The staff were not friendly or warm at check in although they seems to warm up a little the next day.

Great hotel on Koh Tao

It's a very nice hotel, the swimming pool is great and the hotel is very close to the beach for those who prefer. The room was great and clean and silent at night. The only con is that it took some time for the AC to cool the room but that's a detail. The staff was very kind and helpful. We forgot some of our stuff and they sent it to us by boat to Koh Samui, for free! Thanks a lot!

Group trip

Location was ideal about a 10 minute walk from the ferry port and close to the main walking street by the beach. Resident cats were cute. The pool was refreshing. The individual hours were spacious.

When we stayed there seemed to be construction work going on by the beach making the hotel access to the beach more difficult. Whilst we saw the pool itself was cleaned there were areas outside the pool I.e. step with water to clean shoes that was green and smelt like stagnant water.

Room # 10 had a strong sewer smell from the bathroom whenever you used the shower or toilet. Was told to turn on the fan and open a window. Was never fixed and suspect it was an ongoing issue as there was an over abundance of air fresheners in the bathroom. The second room we got did not have this issue. Pool had limited loungers for the amount of rooms. Breakfast was at a restaurant across the street and was shared with another hotel and was very busy. Food was mediocre at best. Room was small and air conditioning was poor.

Had a good stay overall with the views and weather during our stay.

Location was great. 10 min walk to ferry and 5 min walk to restaurant and bar area on beach. Was quiet and the pool area and views were amazing. Watch the sunset from the pool. Room had a nice deck and chairs with a great sea view. Pool was clean and staff were always out cleaning common areas.

Our room #10 was ok but rustic which was expected. Beds were a little lumpy and pillows not so great. Our main issue with that room was any time you used the shower or the toilet a strong sewer smell came from the drains. Staff did try and remedy the situation but didn’t fix it. Only there 2 nights so stuck it out. Free breakfast across the street was so so. Have had much better in Thailand. The 2nd room we had for the other member of our family was great and without issues.

We Loved Clear View

Gteat location for Sairee Beach on both sides. Very peaceful and chilled, away from the noisy bars. We didn't bother hiring a bike as everything was in walking distance.The swimming pool was lovely with lots of seating areas. The views were stunning and had great sunsets from the pool and rocks at the bottom of the resort. The staff were lovely and friendly, and very helpful! They gave us plates of fruit, and when we left, they gave us each a little handmade bracelet. The room was very spacious and had great air con and a fan. We did have an issue with a leaky tap and broken patio door, but the tap was replaced with a new one immediately, and the door was fixed within hours after reporting it. The room service was fantastic, our room was cleaned daily, and we had 4 fresh towels daily! we loved it and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Koh Tao! 🥰 Thank you to all the staff for making it a great stay xx

Our room was set back away from the pool and didn't have much of a view, but that's probably our fault for being on a budget. We did get to see the rooms on the very front, which had spectacular views, so maybe next time we would book one of these.

Lovely accommodation in a quiet but only a 5 minute walk to all the bars and restaurants, our room was extremely clean and the staff were lovely the view from our room was amazing. The breakfast was good and plenty of it , it was on till 12.30 so you could go diving in the morning and get back for breakfast very good There’s a small pool which was great

Good location, not in centre of party bars, but everything walkable in 5 minutes. Breakfast is served at the cafe over the road and lots of options. Pool was decent. Our room (number 7) was lovely. Bedding comfortable, large bathroom and 2 terraces. Fabulous sea views from your bed! In December, sadly we couldn’t see the sunset just around the corner but at other times of the year apparently it would be right in front of us. The ‘cove’ mentioned in previous reviews is more of a small concrete entryway into the sea so not a private beach. Nice staff, helpful. No sunbeds around the pool but a few daybeds/rattan sofas to relax on.

Currently some renovations of a bungalow on site. Wouldn’t affect us usually if the weather was calm as we would have been out each day but due to the wind, most boat trips were cancelled and a couple of days illness meant we were at the resort more than usual. Wasn’t terribly noisy but feel it should be mentioned so that future guests are aware. May not be too much longer for renovation?

Do not go to the standard villas, they are absolutely not worth the money you pay!!!!

The swimming pool and the villas on the seaside are beautiful. The standard villa not at all. They face cement and tubes.

We stayed in one of the standard villas (which I absolutely do not recommend). When I made the booking there was not even a picture of the villa from the outside, which made me mistakenly presume (as I believe it happens for a lot of guests) that they are the ones on the water given that there is not even a picture of this villas on the website. This standard villas are quite expensive and absolutely not worth the value. The bathroom smells badly and the room per se is absolutely not worth what you pay. Also, we stayed 3 days and room was cleaned just two days (one day they did not pass at all).

View was great, location was good

Room was not clean, still water in the shower, glass divider there was dirty, floor as well. All a bit old and not very well maintained. Doors very hard to close/open, cheap plastic chairs outside and an even cheaper fold out plastic -dirty- table on the balcony. Pool not clean: algae on the sides, as others have noted too. Parts of roof coverings of several huts are missing, it's just not very well maintained. It's ok for a stay for sure, but for what it cost, it was not worth that much money. There were more modern, better looking hotels very nearby that were cheaper.

Will not be returning.

It was close to the beach, the sunset was gorgeous and close to many shops/bars and restaurants.

The toilet got soaked when we had a shower as it was basically underneath it, there were weird pictures of random little girls on the wall. The staff left dirty laundry from another room outside our door and one of the hotel staff shouted to a colleague from right outside our door (waking me up) as he couldn’t be bothered walking down the steps to where the colleagues were. Bad way to end our 3 week holiday to be honest and won’t be returning.

Relaxing stay with an amazing view.

Unbeatable views and a small private beach at the base of the resort. The pool was a good size and had lots of places to lounge. it was about halfway between Mae Haad Beach and sairee beach which made it ideal to explore both parts. A/C blew cold and at night it was a perfect temp. They provided complementary water bottles daily and the room had a large minifridge to keep them cool.

While I understand it is was a bungalow, there was a few ants you would find on the counter, even without having food out they covered most personal belongings on the counter but seemed to be mostly by the windows and didn't get near out bags or the bed.

Fabolous stay for family!

This hotel is a small family friendly hotel. Rooms are spacious inside and outside. Comfortable beds as shower. Outside you have a big terrace with lounge chairs. Perfect to see the sunrise or sunset. Everyday the room is cleaned and in the afternoon you will get fresh watermelon. The owner is very friendly and he will help you with everything for a very good price. We arranged our motorbikes, fishtail and some taxi boats which were great! The swimmingpool is big abd very welcoming after a hot walk or ride. Overall this hotel is very family friendly, no noise at night and great place to stay as a family because the bungalow are quiet big!

Lovely location and facilities, friendly and helpful staff, requiring some upgrading and maintenance

- the manager was friendly and helpful - the swimming pool and view is gorgeous shaded by lovely trees - nice loungers - free watermelon and water every day - direct access to the sea - rooms cleaned daily with fresh towels - we stayed in the beach triple bungalow and benefited from a brand new bed - large fridge - good shower - sunset views from our balcony - there was an issue with the A/C which the manager helpfully resolved quickly

- the beach triple bungalow had very old doors which were not secure. There was a padlock available but the door was warped and left gaps which meant the cool A/C air escaped and mosquitos could enter. To add to this the windows are single glazed - the wardrobe was falling apart - the curtains do not cover all the window and let in the light - Some of the outdoor plastic furniture was not clean - bathroom lighting not sufficient Please bear in mind that we booked the two triple beach bungalows at the resort which we didn’t realize they were the most basic on the resort. The Deluxe bungalows are much more modern and comfortable so pick wisely.
