Pigeon Resort

Beach location not far from the pier

Run down and old resort that needs serious renovation. If you have a room with a balcony expect everything to be covered in Pigeon faeces as the hotel has a large pigeon population. Sewage system is not vented so the smell comes up through the toilet. All in all not a great experience.

Wrong choice of Hotel but outstanding Island which made up for the poor accommodation

Right on the beach and a slow stroll away from the pier.

Breakfast was terrible, cold cooked eggs and rice. One morning there was no cooked food. Breakfast was provided on the presentation of a ticket. The coffee was from an old jar of instant. If you paid 200 Thb then you would get a la carte and slightly better coffee. It is expected that you pay for your stay as soon as you arrive. I paid via Booking.com to avoid a 5% surcharge on credit card. The place is falling apart and the staff were not particularly interested in engaging with the guests. There is a free transfer service for the ferry. Tremendous location but a real dump. The island is a great place and there are many great bars and restaurants along the beaches. Avoid the Beach ‘Club’ there are better resorts.

Awesome spot close to everything and right on the beach.

I booked 17 rooms here for my birthday. We have a beach bungalow which was superb. The view was incredible and we walked straight onto the beach and into the ocean. This was the perfect venue as it was quiet but within walking distance of the pier and Sairee. I would definitely recommend this property and Koh Tao.

There was nothing about this property that I didn't like. The staff were excellent and the rooms great. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Do yourself a favor and don't stay there

I don't even know where to begin. We were so incredibly disappointed with this hotel. The place is completely falling apart. There is no restaurant, or it's half-demolished. The beach chairs are totally broken and dangerous. The tiles in the pool are cracked and shattered. The bathroom in the beach bungalow is full of moisture and mold, and it smells terrible. Breakfast is improvised at a neighboring hotel, and they only serve eggs every single day. Most of all, we were very disappointed with a very rude and arrogant girl at the front desk.

Proper Thai beach front accommodation.

We had a beach front bungalow with plunge pool . We used the plunge pool constantly. You do literally step out onto a quiet beach . There is a hammock right outside and the swimming pool is 30 seconds walk away . The beach accumulates a bit of rubbish , some is washed up and some left by ignorant people . I’m an early morning person, so I’d walk the beach between our room & the pier ( 10 mins ) with a bag and collect rubbish ( it gave me something to do ) . The pool is an unusual green colour due to the colour of the tiles . This makes it look like the kind of natural pool you’d get by a waterfall , I liked it . Yes there are a few cracked tiles . If you’re used to 5 star resorts that don’t have a leaf out of place , then this may bother you . I think this place is more than fair value for money .

Close proximity to town and ferry terminal. Nice view and pool good but very shallow. Staff helpful.

Not able to swim at beach.. too rocky and dead coral. Hotel grounds were very neglected, rather run down but the rooms were good, clean and comfortable.

Quite a good spot to stay.

We had a waterfront bungalow which was at the quiet end of the beach but within walking distance of the pier.

Alot of pool tiles were missing. The restaurant at the front was not open and was quite a mess.

Lovely island resort. Would stay hear again.

This resort has an excellent beach front location and we had beach facing units. We were met on arrival by a gentleman carrying a sign and asked to wait in an area for transport. Units were air-conditioned. We were directed to the next door resort for dining which was a good value, OK food - not great. There are restaurants all over the island, so a little search will find you someplace to eat and it's a good reason to explore local food.

A little confusion on check-in where they started to assign us to units in the 'U'-shaped pool court area, when we had reserved beach facing units. The wait for transport was a little long, with four of us riding in the bed of the little crew-cab pickup. But hey, it's an island beach resort and they got us there. It appears that the resort used to have a dining area and a coffee bar. The dining area is currently used for equipment storage; the coffee shop is used for holding luggage and has a small library area. We would probably have eaten many meals here if there had been dining and good food.

Gorgeous view, right on the beach, great cool pool, nice spacious room, close to everything.

Things were a bit janky, toilet running all the time, faucet not working well, door lock not working well etc. Also lost my laundry for a day or so! Still an amazing spot though.

Nice place to stay at the beach!

Location was very convenient, we likes the pools and the location next to the beach. Ate at the restaurant a couple of times, which was also excellent (surprisingly nice pizza, which the kids in our group definitely appreciated).

It was a bit dead after 21.00, which was annoying when we forgot a key card (took a while before we could reach the reception staff) and the bar was also closed very early.

The location is stunning and could be really fab but a neglected and sad state of affairs for this hotel and neighbours means that it won’t be a return visit from us.

Sadly the Beach Club is just a visual reminder of how COVID has deeply affected many parts of the islands including this corner of Koh Tao. My last visit to Koh Samui was in 1998 and admittedly that’s a long time ago but these hotels will have had a flourishing trade of tourists bolstering up an island economy and small run hotels. Post Covid now what you see are neglected and sad places that once were jewels, now just shabby unloved and hotels that will not survive- I feel harsh writing this but it’s true to say a lot of many is going to be needed to bring these big places back up to scratch to serve a hopefully buoyant tourist market again.

Quiet resort located on a small private part of the beach between the pier and Sairee beach. Staff were super nice and the pool area was great. Balconies are a great size.

A little dated and could do with some redecoration. Water pressure in my bathroom wasn’t great. Door locks could be made safer.

Acceptable hotel

Nice location near the pier.

Hotel not well maintained, some facilities are abandoned. For sure this hotel has seen much better days. The beach in front of the hotel is a bit dirty. There is some trash on the sand and the water sometimes has foam, maybe because of the boats nearby. One of the pools does not have a proper ladder to go in or out. And the existing places to put the feet can hurt you. They only provide one shower towel per person, not any small towel. They don't provide beach towels.

Great stay

The room was very comfortable, and looked out on to the beach - excellent view of the sunset. Pool was lovely, staff were very helpful. Only a 5 min walk from the main bar area at Sairee Beach.

Big swimming pool. However, it's not deep. The hotel is on the beach and you can walk along the beach to the hotel from the pier. Huge bathroom. Hotel was quiet. Sunset from the beach is unreal!

Pleasant stay

The pool and the beach were wonderful, and the bed in the room was comfortable. The restaurant had a great selection of dishes and the staff were very nice and helpful. Also the location allowed you to walk along the beach to the pier and shops which was lovely.

There were hardly any sunbeds on the beach and we were later told by two other guests that they were reserved for those who had beachfront huts only. Also there is no beachfront bar. It was an unfinished building adjacent to the beach which you could walk through to reach the restaurant where you could get drinks if you wanted to.

Lovely rooms either beach side or pool side. Large and clean rooms, very comfortable bed. The beach on your doorstep is lovely and calm. The pool is kept clean. Short walk into the town.

the pool was amazing and receptionists were super nice. room was by the pool and clean.

wifi was not working and that was not a big deal for us, because we had the ulimited sim card, but there was no signal either in the room. but maybe thats a good thing, talk to each other :)
