Ian and staff were incredibly welcoming and flexible, full of information about local facts, history and nature (Machir Bay, for example). All of this enhanced our short visit and experiences. Coming again.

The location was gorgeous, the breakfast was delicious and cooked to order, and the hosts were incredibly friendly and accommodating.

Location was fine. Breakfast okay but a bit casual. For example fruit juice in cartons on the table, packets of cereal - not what we would expect at this price. Staff very friendly and helpful and cooked bit of breakfast was fine.
Other hotels we have stayed at during this island-hopping trip have offered, for the same price, more spacious public rooms, separate dining area and one even had two swimming pools. In our opinion, the Lochindaal should be marketed as a friendly, traditional Scottish pub with rooms and priced accordingly. We enjoyed staying there but felt it was over-priced.
