Amazing location with beautilful rooms but over heated

Quite a fancy place! Incredible views over the city. Beautiful, secluded place in the mountains surrounded by peaceful and breathtaking forests. Lovely, spacious room and bathroom. Very clean. The hotel dinner restaurant and breakfast buffet were EXCELLENT and had some great vegan options.

Main problem: it was impossible to turn the heat down in our room. The minimum was purportedly 19 degrees C (which is already too limiting in my opinion) but it couldnt even get that low and couldn't be turned off. It was a faulty heating system which meant it was also boiling and therefore very uncomfortablw to sleep. The coolest we managed to get the room was about 22 degrees if we left the balcony door open at night; far too hot to sleep. So this was an awful situation. They offered to swap our room but it would have been a downgrade and would have meant we would have to pack up all our bags etc- super annoying. So we slept terribly both nights because of the over-heating. They only had liquid soap so lucky we brought our own bar of soap. No towel drying racks unfortunately.

Relaxing stay in the mountains

Reception staff were so helpful, we booked a mountain view room and after checking in we were a bit disappointed we hadn’t booked a city view. So reception went out of their way to show us different rooms that were available, what options we had to upgrade and made our dream holiday happen! I can’t thank them enough for the effort they went to for us to feel fancy and special on our weekend away.

Only thing that wasn’t good was we kept falling in between the 2 single beds that were pushed together and it’s not done my back to good, But other than the bed, the room and the view were beautiful

Gorgeous hotel in a beautiful location. Room was clean with a fantastic view of the city. Access to the funicular made for convenient travel down to old town. Great restaurant.

Very nice hotel in a unique location.

Spacious room with a nice sized bathroom. On site dining was very good including the optional breakfast. Plenty of on-site parking.

The hotel was very comfortable and the view over Heidelberg and the Rhine valley simply fantastic. Food was above expectations. Great location next to the Funicular station so very easy to get into the old town and castle.

Unique hotel although not the type of service you would expect from a hotel of this calibre.

Food was very good. Location was impressive.

Staff wasn't very helpful. When I had to change my booking from 2 rooms to one, the reservation was inadvertently switched to 1 person even though it still showed both mine and my husband's name. The front desk refused to honour the original information and charged me for an extra person. As well, they attempted to charge twice for parking.

Amazing view, stay and food!!!

Room with an amazing view. We had a balcony. The restaurant we had dinner and it was very good. As well as breakfast buffet. To had read on line the breakfast buffet was expensive for what it was but we were very pleased. The rooms appear to be newly renovated in the past couple of years. I highly recommend the property to any visiting the Black Forest .

Excellent.

We were supposed to explore this place for on a Sunday afternoon and evening on our way to the south of France. Unfortunately traffic caused that we did not arrive until very late and we did not get the chance to explore the city of Heidelberg. But we intend to come back to Heidelberg and when we do we will book this fabulous place once again. It is very beautifully situated above the city with an excellent view. Breakfast was outstanding leaving nothing left to wish for.

An excellent hotel with a beautiful view. But not 100% to the standard of a four star hotel

On a mountain, overlooking Heidelberg, the view was fantastic. Breakfast is great with and excellent selection of dishes for every taste.

Although the hotel's restaurant provided tasty food, it failed to meet my expectations for a four-star establishment. I believe they provide consistent restaurant meals to accommodate the continuous flow of tourists. The meal did not offer a genuine gastronomic experience, and it did not provide value for money.

Wonderful and peaceful stay

Location is great with wonderful view over Heidelberg, very quiet place on top of the mountain and walking/cycling tracks in nearby forest is an amazing experience.

A wonderful place to stay

We only stayed here for one night, but would have loved to stay here longer!!! The hotel is beautiful, it was a wonderful experience to be apart of such a exquisit environment. The staff is so friendly, helpful and they make you feel very welcome. The room and bathroom were very good!! The beds were perfect and breakfast was superb. . The views are wonderful and the Bergbahn was joyful experience. Would definitely come back again

Good hotel with nice size rooms, did not expect it was located next to a busy tourist spot.

Liked the roomsize and bathroom and decor. Sitting on the balcony in summer on chairs that were comfortable The staff was helpfull and welcoming Breakfast choice includes vegan and oatmilk

The bedroom floor and surfaces were dusty. Tea and coffee and mugs in the room were not replaced on the next day Personally the bedpillow and matrass too soft, the toilet paper quite hard, Did’t realize when booking that the viewpoint to the city was right in front of the hotel(lots of tourists) One has to change station once when taking the fenicular ( check the timetable), it can get very busy in high season.

The hotel is a on a wonderful mountain and the views are amazing. The restaurant and staff were great, and the rooms were great value. I highly recommend.

Beautiful hotel with wonderful staff

Great hotel - newly refurbished and very stylishly decorated in contemporary style, much better than the photos. Very comfy bed, lovely bathroom (German plumbing is the best) and the staff were fantastic! The location was amazing, set up high on a mountain overlooking the stunning town of Heidelberg but with the advantage of a funicular to get you down into the town. The hotel is normally a high price point but we got a great deal on Booking.com partly thanks to my Genius discount.

The food offering wasn’t great as there was a function on so they weren’t doing the usual à la carte menu, just a rather limited buffet. Also there’s no gym or pool so the ‘spa’ turned out to be just a sauna. In the bathroom were lovely toiletries but just shampoo, shower gel and soap. Would have liked the usual conditioner and a hand cream/body lotion. Also the last funicular up from town is 5pm and the shuttle bus 8pm, so if you wanted to have dinner in town you needed to either take the car or get a taxi.

Fabulous hotel with amazing views

Beautiful hotel located on a hilltop overlooking Heidelberg and next to the cliff railway. Nice large comfortable room, excellent breakfast, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar is a nice place to enjoy a few drinks as well.

View from the hotel is breathtaking. Location exceptional. Easy access to the Old Town and castle.

Very much enjoyed the location on top of the hill overlooking Heidelberg surrounded by park land. The location was quiet and had an accessible bar. The staff were pleasant and accommodating.

The breakfast was fine but we were very disappointed in the dinner menu and quality of the food (served a chicken nugget and french fry meal!). Also, we would have preferred a view of the surrounding park or the city view. The funicular (access to and from the hotel from the 'Old Town' for ~ 10 euro) operated until 7 PM, leaving little evening time in the Old Town unless you took a taxi ride back to the hotel.

Camera must be installed from Police to record the parkside outside and on Königstuhl Parking. My car had damages by uknkown. Hotel of course is not guilty for it. Thank you

Exceptional location with an amazing view. Good room with very comfortable beds. Welcoming staff, and lovely breakfast.

We had dinner at the hotel and although it was tasty, it wasn't as up scale as the hotel itself and we expected a little more.
