Luxury Modern 2Bed Seafront Apartment in Rhos on Sea

Excellent sized apartment with good layout and everything you need for a short break away. Good comms with host. Parking next to the apartment and an earlier check in / later check out than most places.

Nothing

First of all, it was a lot nicer, more roomy and well equipped than we expected for the price and from the photos. Second, the location was perfect, just a minute or two walk from a lovely stretch of beach! Free wifi included, a flatscreen tv on the wall, comfortable beds and sofa etc. plenty of utensils and crockery in the kitchen and a small selection of toiletries and cleaning supplies. Getting in when we arrived and locking up before we left was easy. We were very happy to note that although it was nicely decorated with a few pieces of decor, none of it was breakable, and so that reduced anxiety slightly for us having our toddler there. The shower was awesome, especially after a long day at the beach/zoo. The floors throughout the main areas were able to be swept, which helped a lot with sand clean up! Bedrooms were carpeted and cosy and easy to shut the doors to keep sand away. I'm probably missing things but honestly it was just lovely!

Only things I can think of was to have a dustpan to go with the brush to make cleaning a bit easier - but if they don't mind their cleaner having a little bit more of a job then that's not essential - it would have just made me personally feel better leaving it fully swept up (we did what we could without). And then just that if you have a pushchair and/or large suitcases, the entry hallway is quite narrow, but it soon opens out into the kitchen/dining/living area which are all open plan and there was a space we were able to park the pushchair without it affecting any of the spaces being used.

The location was great, with the beach across the road from the end of the street. It was nice to have a seating area outside with a glimpse of the sea. The main living area was attractive. The owner was friendly and accessible and his daughter was quick to provide batteries for the tv remote when we thought they might need changing.

It hadn’t been cleaned. There was sand throughout and clearly the rubber bath mat hadn’t been moved for a while. There were cigarette butts in an outdoor planter box and one of the outside chairs was broken. The children’s bunk room was musty and the state of the skirting boards in the room suggested there had been flooding and the damage hadn’t been dealt with. It would have been nicer for our daughter if the bedding was more neutral rather than clearly designed for children. It was hard to get the TV to work. There was signage saying that if we wanted to be rated as good visitors we would leave the place as we found it, including washing all the dishes and putting them away afterwards. We tried to oblige with the dishes but the dishwasher started leaking bubbles within a few minutes after being turned on so we had to put multiple towels on the floor to soak up the water. We called the owner, who answered his phone quickly but it seemed the only way to stop the problem was to switch it off at the wall, along with another switch.
