Fantastic 4 night stay at Elmington House - the perfect place to stay.

Had a wonderful stay (4 nights at Elmington House) - fabulous property and Lisa (the Owner) is incredibly warm and friendly and does her upmost to ensure you have a great stay. Spotlessly clean and fantastic breakfasts (served by Colin who was very efficient and friendly) - Hotel rooms were well furnished, very clean. Hotel is situated in a quieter part of Torquay (which I loved) but only a short walk to the beach and shops - would highly recommend.

Lovely and quiet hotel close to everything in Torquay

Great little B&B, so close to everything to Torquay. The whole hotel was absolutely pristine and wonderfully decorated, from the lobby through the common rooms to the actual rooms. Absolutely beautiful atmosphere. The staff was also kind, friendly and helpful, always ready to help or just to chit chat. If we ever return to Torquay we'll definitely be back.

No issues during our stay, everything was as expected.

The welcome from Lisa on arrival was lovely , The hotel public area was clean as was our room. We received a good welcome at our first breakfast from Colin who served us in a excellent ,friendly, professtional manner to a well cooked breakfasts. Our room was serviced and replenished every day throughout our stay.

The only downside was no one could order and control the British weather !?

Lovely house, very clean and comfortable and it was nice staying somewhere a bit more personal, rather than a chain hotel. Lovely location and even when the weather was bad it was nice room to warm up with a cup of tea and watch the weather!

Good parking within easy walk to town

We had a superior room, which was large, good view of the bay. Very clean and decor was very good. The shared areas were pleasantly furnished. Good position with a short 10/15 minute walk into town. Good car parking facility. Excellent breakfast.

The shower was a little on the small size but adequate for us. The extractor fan was very noisy and bathroom door needs upgrading as it was difficult to shut but only minor details, we would be happy to stay again.

Lovely stay thank you

Breakfast was great, room lovely and staff were friendly, good location in town although the town itself needs more investment. We didn’t use the outdoor pool but it was lovely to have the option.

Maybe can invest in EV charger but it wasn’t a problem as there was one available in a hotel close by. A restaurant would also be lovely - with healthy and simple food like jacket potatoes or toasties but it wouldn’t be a b&b anymore and we liked the price.

Hotel in a good position for the harbour by bus.

Breakfast was very good, exceptionally clean hotel, bedroom was comfortable with a lovely view. Member of staff Colin was a great asset to the hotel. Liza was a lovely hostess.

TV stopped working on the 2nd night of our stay which was very disappointing.

Lovely location and hotel was clean.

We liked the room, the bed was comfortable, and the dining areas and places to sit were spacious. Location was about a mile from the harbour but we liked the walk. Buses were frequent. Staff that we came across were friendly. We had a lovely stay.

Couple of issues, there seemed to be not many staff on, so the bar wasn’t manned, and no one to make enquiries too. We did a lot of walking, and it would have been nice to be able to get a drink when we got back from being out all day. We rang the bell numerous times on different days but no one came. Also if you’re hoping to get an uber we tried on two evenings around 8pm, could not get an uber at all, this is not the property’s fault, however it’s just worth noting if you are getting dressed up for the evening - you had to walk to the harbour and in into town and back after your night out. Milk wasn’t replaced after we used it, and we couldn’t ask anyone for anymore as no one was about. Breakfast was served 8-9, this was a little early for us as we were getting up at 9- again just preference for us, if it was 8-10 we would have gone for some.

Very well looked after property and gardens. Really lovely staff. Excellent breakfast and everywhere was spotlessly clean. All in all, a lovely place to stay. We are going back next year!

Nice spot...it has all the facilities just a bit tired and worn.

Very close to the station and bus routes. Nice room with a beautiful view over the bay. The bed was comfortable. An ensuite bathroom was great. Clean linen and towels and daily room service.

I was on the 4th floor without a lift. It was really hard work after a day walking around the area. Breakfast was 8 to 9 a bit early for a lie in. The shower was very slow and difficult to regulate. Over all it was good.

Lovely characterful property. Spacious room (27), everywhere spotlessly clean and in good condition. Very quiet atmosphere. Good buffet breakfast in a light dining room. The hotel is situated on a hill, nice walk down to the seafront. There was a nice looking pool which we didn't have the opportunity to use. Lisa (owner) and Colin (breakfast waiter) are friendly, obliging, and hard working.

Some people might find the stairs (40 steps) to the top floor a bit of a challenge but the comfort is worth the effort. Otherwise, ask for a lower level room.

OK with caveats!

The double room was clean and quiet. Two teabags a coffee sachet ,UHT milk and a kettle provided in the room. Sufficiently dark enough for me.

The latch on the ensuite door which meant it never shut! Needed a good oil as well. Ensuite shower room is tiny, not sure whether a larger person would be able to sit on the toilet without bashing knees on wall. Shower really weak water flow. Never saw the owner after a brief check in. Had to go hunting for someone to announce we were checking out, who just took the keys...It was an experience is all I can say. It provided a clean, quiet room, which was all we needed for that particular trip.

The hotel was just a few yards from the train station. A beautiful peaceful location and warm and friendly hosts. The room was lovely - nicely decorated with plenty of storage and really comfy beds. Breakfast was great - plenty of choice. Look forward to staying here again 😊
