Great host Angela was here to meet us when we arrived and showed us round, Angela was lovely and very helpful with any questions, little added extra was an Easter cake left for us made at a local bakery. Howe villa is a Beautiful home and grounds had everything we needed and more, lots of space and all amenities, the dogs loved the garden & the little woodland walk. All very well kept and great location only a few minutes drive to the centre or a nice 15 minute stroll. Beautiful views from the property overlooking the river swale.
We had great family time together going on walks, playing games & hide & seek. Would highly recommend to anyone, we had 2 older people with slight mobility difficulties but they managed just fine slept downstairs with the onsuite bedrooms but joined us all upstairs the rest of the time the steps are shallow so if you can manage steps they are not steep which is good but there’s just the toilet situation which is mentioned in other reviews wasn’t a problem for us as theres 2 bathrooms on the ground floor & 2 on the top floor but just missing one on the middle floor for people with mobility problems other than that no complaints at all.

Stunning house, beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Everything you need for a large gathering- plenty of kitchen equipment etc and additional hobs in case the Aga isn’t sufficient. Very cosy on a cold night, and the whole group agreed that the beds and bedding were very cosy and comfortable. There were 11 of us, including my 90 year old parents and 2 dogs, and we all loved the place. Not everyone had an en-suite - there are 3 bedrooms without it - 2 of them share the family bathroom in the top floor and guests in the room with 2 beds in it (which is in the ground floor) have to go up to the 2nd floor to use the wc or have a shower. Not insurmountable but worth knowing. We would absolutely stay there again. Owners were very helpful. We got good use from the table tennis table on the ground floor. Walking distance to Richmond centre. Clean
There was nothing we didn’t like, but a couple of things for visitors to be aware of. One in the bathroom situation mentioned previously, the other is the low number of electric sockets in bedrooms which is presumably due to the age of the house. Again, not insurmountable but worth being aware of. There is no wc on the middle floor which is where the sitting room, dining room and kitchen are located, however we managed fine without one - just means you get your workouts in by visiting the wc!
