Had a lovely time but not a restful sleep so woke stiff and a bit tired due to the uncomfortable mat

The location, the animal's, it was very cosy

It could have been a bit cleaner, long hair around the property also the drain smell in the shower drain but sorted with a bit of bleach in the stagnant water in the shower drain. I think the biggest problem was the mattress’s were really uncomfortable.

With a bit TLC this would be perfect

The accommodation was nice and cosy and loved the addition of the farm animals for the children. There was 11 of us travelling in total so we had the first 4 cottages. Loved the additional extras - the teas, coffees, cleaning products along with other essentials.

All rooms suggested that there were sofa beds/pull out beds (which were needed for how many of us were travelling). Unfortunately there was only 1 cottage that had this facility. And upon booking it automatically allocated cottages to people staying in them (which was incorrect) But we thought this would not be an issue due to having additional sofa/pull out beds 1 of our families had 2 adults and 2 children - all accommodation had double beds, which was not suitable. Twin beds may be more appropriate so we had to jiggle sleeping arrangements which was not ideal! Some of the cottages require some TLC in places - especially the first cottage as the front step was non existent as it was all chipped and needs replaced before an accident occurs. The conservatory on the first cottage needs some TLC too - could not even sit in it due the draughts (I know the time of year did not help)

Cozy warm stay!

Perfect for our overnight stay before visiting friends nearby. It was very well equipped and very cozy. Beds were extremely comfortable and the whole cottage was nicely furnished and decorated for Christmas. Very easy to get into York with Park and Ride close by!

Quirky accommodation. Cosy and well equipped. Lovely log burner with enough logs for our two night stay. Parking was good. Lovely powerful shower and plenty hot water and towels for each person. Helpful host from start to finish.

What a brilliant stay!

In a beautiful location. The property was gorgeous, cleanliness was brilliant. The hot tub was absolutely amazing- a great addition. Staff went above and beyond for my partners birthday. We had such a lovely time. Would highly recommend. Hopefully we can come back again soon. Many thanks to you all. What a lovely place you have!

Warm and cosy cottage, perfect for a night away from the kids

When we arrived in the evening, the lamps and the heating had been turned on. It was warm and cosy. The key was easy to find and parking was right outside of the property.

Skipbridge Farm is a perfect place to break up a journey.

The rooms were excellent, with no expense spared on the decoration, appliances etc. The outdoor surroundings were quirky - we liked them. They obviously cater for weddings here, but in our case it was over 50 years too late....

Our bedroom was slightly airless but if we opened the window it let in the traffic noise because the road was very near. This probably wouldn't be important to someone who was used to noise, but in our case we live on a farm and it is very quiet, so we are not used to noise!

DO NOT MISS OUT! It’s so lovely we stayed longer. Stunning and icdillic grounds. Beautifu, old, rustic, cute and comfortable cottage. The decor was on point and this is my dream home and surroundings. Amazing sunsets. Free roaming chickens and was given free range eggs which some were blue but they were all delicious. Lovely log fire with wood, kindling, fire starters and lighter. Was so clean. I didn’t want to leave. Owner lives on site but unless you need anything, you’re left alone. They were so kind, genuinely friendly and helpful. Local Asda garage for petrol and food.

Lovely cute little cottage, great hosts, excellent value for money

Great communication from the host in advance and ability to contact them anytime for anything - didn’t need to, but reassuring. Very cosy, exactly as described, pleasantly surprised by the standard of the kitchen and bathroom specifically - really good value for money

It was lovely and cosy and we were very happy, but if I had to suggest an improvement it would be to have nicer/more stylish runner/cushions on the bed and a couple of the pillow cases were looking a little threadbare, but it was clean and the linens/towels generally good and smelled lovely

Everything! It was our 4th time staying & already booked for next summer. Great location in that you feel your in the countryside but 15 minutes in the car you’re in the centre of York.

The only tiny thing that could’ve been improved is the decking/hot tub are could have been swept & a little tidier. Also, the washing line was snapped & hadn’t been replaced. Having the washing machine is great if you have somewhere to dry things.

Perfect stay

Such a peaceful place to recharge your batteries. Very helpful staff, nothing is too much trouble and as the owners are on site there is always a friendly face nearby to assist in any way should you need. The house was perfect, extremely clean and everything you would need for a self catering stay. Perfect location to York or Harrogate and lots of lovely walks nearby if you wanted to drag yourself away. Just a wonderful place and would definitely recommend and I will stay again. Pet friendly too!

The cottage was small, as described, but well-equipped and very comfortable.

Comfortable bolt hole for a few days exploring the local area.

Cottage was well equipped, with parking, in a convenient location for what we wanted.

Cottage hadn't been fully cleaned prior to arrival, with smashed glass in the kitchen. We also received no arrival instructions from the host. No information booklet advising about bins, and checking out processes. There is limited cleaning supplies (no hoover) in the cottage.

Relaxing, pleasant and well equipped at a good price.

Skipbridge cottages are our go to when staying in the area. This is our third time staying and the first in no 1 cottage. We loved the facilities, great kitchen and bathroom. Clean and homely cottage it didn’t disappoint.

A lock on the bathroom would be a practical bonus.
