Sunflower Lodge, Lido Leisure Park, Knaresborough

We had a wonderful three-night stay and would happily book this property again if we return to the area. The property was very easy to find, and we really enjoyed the balcony, outdoor seating area, and the convenience of having parking. Inside, the accommodation was clean, well-maintained, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the whole property felt very homely. The location was excellent, with plenty of shops and attractions nearby, making it a great base for exploring the area. The host was also fantastic—friendly, responsive, and easy to communicate with prior to our stay. We travelled with our dog and found the property very dog-friendly. One thing worth mentioning for future guests is that the garden isn’t fully enclosed and is more of a shared communal outdoor space. This wasn’t an issue for us, but if you have a reactive dog, a dog in training, or one that needs a secure enclosed garden, it’s something to keep in mind when booking. The only thing we felt would have been a nice addition is a smart TV, as it would have been great to watch Netflix or other streaming services in the evenings. That said, this is purely a personal preference and didn’t affect the quality of our stay at all. Overall, we had a lovely experience and would definitely recommend this property to others. We’d be more than happy to stay here again in the future.

Just a small note for the owner: I feel a little awkward mentioning this because we genuinely had such a wonderful stay, and this is by no means a complaint. I simply wanted to mention it in case it’s something you’d like to look into. When we first arrived and I opened the shower, I noticed a urine-like smell. There was no visible dirt or evidence that the shower hadn’t been cleaned—in fact, the property was spotless overall—so I wondered if it could possibly have been coming from the drain or the plumbing rather than the shower itself. As we were staying for a few nights, I bought some bleach and gave the shower a quick clean, and after that the smell completely disappeared. We didn’t notice it again for the rest of our stay, including on the day we left. I only mention this because I thought it might be helpful feedback in case there is a minor plumbing or drainage issue developing, or if it’s something another guest might notice in the future. It certainly didn’t take away from our stay, which was genuinely fantastic in every other respect. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here, and this is shared only in the hope that it’s helpful.

Well kept park in a lovely spot. The caravan was clean and tidy and well equipped. We walked into Knaresborough along the path from the site which was nice. The on site pub was pleasant. Enjoyable short break.

There were ants in the kitchen area mainly around the sink. I rang owner to ask if there was any ant spray but his only advice was to look in the cupboard under the sink and if not there he had no idea. No apology. No advice. We could not get the heating to work. We found the towels in the bottom of a wardrobe. One bath towel each and one hand towel between 3 of us. Would have been nice to have some cleaning products to clean toilet and kitchen worktops.

We absolutely love Knaresesborough, such a beautiful place! The caravan site was immaculate and very well kept, check in was simple and easy too, there is a small launderette and shop/cafe only open at certain times though, but the staff were lovely and kind, there is also a small club house on site which also has some entertainment. The caravan was well equiped with pots/pans/ cooking utencils and washing up equipment which was great because we have stayed in many that dont provide it and meant we could clean up our used things. The location is a great place to explore knaresborough and harrogate. We visited for the weekend for my dads 67th birthday. 🎉

There isnt much that we didnt like, but if i was to be picky then i would just mention that it was great to have a playstation provided, however there wasnt a lead for the pads to charge them, so we did have to buy 1 and we bought a couple of games, which we left in the caravan for the next people to play, and they were board games provided which is also a great touch but all the peices wasnt there, so it was a shame. But other than them 2 little things we had a fantastic weekend and my son really enjoyed playing fifa because we dont allow video gaming at home, so you can imagine he had great fun on the evening playing with family. 🎮 so i would just recommend checking the games for peices and checking the playstation has all its leads and games etc, i mean we understand past visitors may have misplaced them but i would just check all this in between guests. Other than that we had a really nice stay, thankyou!

I liked the the area of the property calm and relaxing

I don’t have anything that I dislike about the property the house was warm enough if I have to find a negative part I think was the head shower it couldn’t stay up and the hot water had a certain amount of time.
