Nathalie & Laurent rescued us by having a room ready for 3 of us within 30 minutes after being let down by our other pre booked accommodation.
They were so welcoming, immediately asking my daughter did she like animals and (as she does!!!) inviting her through into their private home area to see the rabbit and cats! She was overjoyed.
The attention to detail in the room blew us away, everything tied in with the 'theme' of the room with an explanation of who the room was named after.
Breakfast choices weremade to minimise waste, one of several initiatives in place to reduce waste and when we came down to breakfast we were not disappointed. Home made ginger muffin, muesli and yoghurt were a delightful addition to the rest of breakfast.
Across the street from the opera house the location couldn't have been more perfect.
We really cannot emphasise enough just how welcome we felt in Nathalie and Laurent's home which was both a stunning piece of architectural history (1901) and a comforting oasis in 21st century Calais. We cannot recommend it highly enough!

Attention to every detail. Thematic rooms: we stayed at the able riot room dedicated to the legendary French pioneering pilot. Location next to the Calais Theatre in the heart of the city.

The hosts of this charming bed and breakfast were welcoming, responsive, and accommodating. It is a traditional b&b in their home with just a few rooms, all of which are thoughtfully decorated. I stayed in the pilot room with a very comfortable bed and thoughtfully designed en-suite bathroom. They were very friendly towards my dog. The food, both dinner and breakfast, was excellent - lots of homemade touches by the host who also teaches cooking classes: tiramisu, gingerbread, yogurt. Congenial chat and tourist tips after dinner with hosts and other guests. Centrally located. I would definitely stay again.

The breakfast was o.k. and we were asked what we wanted from the list. The location was central to Calais town and easy to walk to,
The stairs were steep/twisty and not lit of a night, The beds weren't comfortable. The house was very old and therefore didn't look very clean or well decorated,
