Good value stopover in central Calais

Modern apartment, relatively newly built so everything is clean and tidy. Small but functional kitchenette so ok for breakfast but the idea is to use flat as base and eat out. Secure and free underground parking. Central location for bars and shops. Very good value.

The staff we experienced at reception were not friendly of helpful. When we approached them about difficulty getting the promised wi fi, they said that it wasnt working. No explanation. We found that hard to believe in a business like that. The phone signal was so bad that we couldnt use our mobiles for data. We also had to approach them about the promised onsite parking. Not helpful at all.

A great stay as always at this DOMITYS.Thank you.

Rooms are very comfortable and spotless,with everything you need for your stay.They were very busy with the residents when we arrived but they still attended to us very quickly. Staff here are always happy to see you and nothing is a problem if you need help. We also love the underground parking here, So easy to get our pets and luggage to the room. This is something that is not always available at other DOMITYS despite it being on site.

My only complaint is that the room this time had no sofa. It was replaced with two very expensive recliner chairs.!Great for my husband who is 6 feet tall but very uncomfortable for me , who is much smaller but it’s just one of those things.

Great overnight halt

This is an unusual place to stay as it is in a residence for senior citizens. The building is only six years old and is neat, clean and functional. It is perfect for an overnight stay near the port or tunnel, both only a 10-minute drive away. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The superior apartment was great; expect a basic but adequate level of accommodation which was spotless and had everything needed. There are plenty of good restaurants within a few minutes' walk. Free underground parking was easy and definitely recommended.

Perfect overnight stop when using the Eurotunnel / LeShuttle link.

The location is perfect for connecting to / from the Eurotunnel / LeShuttle link. We arrived late (2am) but it was no problem getting in and accessing the parking (with the key fob from reception). It appears to be a frail care home - so the rooms are spacious and comfortable and the reception is available 24 hours. Perfect for a stop over, clean and comfortable, although perhaps not a romantic destination!

Great place to stay: we’ll be back

The building was beautifully designed and laid out: very modern and welcoming. It is shared by senior residents, who enjoy playing games in the public areas, and members of the public like us staying in apartments. The small swimming pool was very relaxing with a view over the garden and some lovely changing areas. There were also some cardio machines. We also enjoyed the free session on the automatic massage table: it was blissful! The staff were so helpful and went out of their way to keep residents and visitors happy. We had a 1 bed apartment which was spacious, clean and well-equipped. There was even a balcony and free biscuits plus coffee for the filter coffee machine.

Sadly, the sauna was out of order when we visited and the showerhead tended to slide down the rail.

great stay at Domitys as usual. the girl on the desk was super nice, the apartment's are a little basic but clean and comfortable. if you want to do any cooking the only thing missing is an oven. As you have a 4 ring hob and microwave. parking was no problem.

Nice appartement

Large, spacious and clean appartement. Equipped kitchen, good shower and comfortable bed. Balcony was a bonus. Good parking available too. Staff were very cheerful and friendly. All in all we would recommend.

Only one comfortable chair, even though there were two chairs at the table, both in the kitchen and on the balcony, a sofa would have been nice. Also, the two pillows were a bit flat, could do with a couple more.

We will not be going back

Not much to like sadly

It was more like an old people’s home I’m not young myself but this was definitely not a Hotel or holiday property. The description was very misleading. Mealtime was a set meal and only one hour 7 to 8pm set time for the residents who were all sitting in the foyer together some shouting at each other not a nice atmosphere. It was a dog friendly hotel but we weren’t told you couldn’t take your dog into eating facility until we arrived so we had to take our meal to our room. The room itself was a good size but as soon as we opened the door the awful smell hit you which was very off putting. The staff didn’t speak much English. There was a so called bar there but no one was ever there and the contents of the fridge was some fruit juices half a bottle of wine and 2 beers.
