DOMITYS - Le Fil de Soie

We stayed in a lovely 2 bedroomed apartment, parked our car in the safe underground carpark and walked into town for our evening meal. The reception lady spoke very good English and was very helpful when we arrived early, even letting my son and daughter-in-law practice on their residents piano.

The apartment was very hot overnight and would have benefited from air conditioning. The control pad had a setting for air conditioning but there wasn't any. I realise we did stay at the end of a heat wave.

Very clean. Lovely staff and easy check in and out. Secure underground parking. Only 15 mins to Euro Tunnel by carb

No breakfast were given to us eventhough we told the receptionist breakfasts were included in the booking. Good location.

There should be someone available in the apartment incase of delayed arrival after 8pm. There is no response despite several attempts to call the phone number of the Apartment. After waiting & panicking for about an hour, someone came & we got in & she just walks away so we try calling the emergency no but was spoken in french which we don't understand. Finally someone turned up & gave us the key but when we got to our apartment the key don't work. So we were up & down many times looking for the woman who gave us the key & thank God she hasn't left. She had to let us in using her fob. We couldn't go out to eat as the key fob had to be activated the next day so we end up eating snacks. We were so tired with the stress of trying to get in on arrival that we had to stay on for another night which cost us more as only 2 separate Apartments available as ours has been booked.

The apartment was great and good value except for the problems with wifi. See below. A good location

The staff we experienced at reception were not friendly of helpful. When we approached them about difficulty getting the promised wi fi, they said that it wasnt working. No explanation. We found that hard to believe in a business like that. The phone signal was so bad that we couldnt use our mobiles for data. We also had to approach them about the promised onsite parking. Not helpful at all.
