Great value for money. Nice clean room and hot drinks machine in the lobby. Only an additional 6 euro charge for my little dog. Early breakfast available at a small charge if required.
Was only a few minutes drive to the local vetinary clinic to get medication for my little dog before returning to the UK and only a 5 minute drive to the channel tunnel.
Supermarkets and fast food outlets within a short walking distance.
Everything was great for a short stop over.

No lift. The accommodation is a little dated and tired.
4.0 / 10.0
Location is very central to Calais.
Hotel has not been renovated in at least 30 or 40 years apart from slapping on a little paint here and there. VERY outdated and minimal. Feels like a dormitory for students in the 1970s.

The staff was kind and helpful and the bed really big and comfortable.
The paper thin walls and the people arguing in the bedroom next door and the racket outside due to the creaky gate and the clients joining the hotel late in the night and shouting/arguing…
Also found the triangular space between the corridor door and the two separate bedroom doors very anxiety provoking and so did my children.

The one thing to recommend about this hotel
Is that it’s next to the main station in Calais
It’s hard to describe how bad this hotel is, the electronic out of hours check in didn’t work, the room was up three sets of narrow stairs with no lift. The rooms share communal doors with the corridor so it’s noisy. The room was the bare minimum but I slept ontop of the bedding as I didn’t fancy touching it.
The shower curtain didn’t reach the tray so flooded the bathroom. The tv didn’t work and there is no way to get even a tea or coffee from a machine outside of office hours. I can’t say much about breakfast as I had to catch a train before it was served. The station over the road does have brilliant cheap coffee, friendly staff and a good deal on fresh croissants.

Closeness to Railway Station
Decor was grubby and very dated. Toilet wouldn’t flush.

room hasnt cleaned, lots of dirt on the table and on the floor
very tiny room
8.0 / 10.0
I had stayed here several times some years ago. Despite some recent poor reviews, the first floor room that I had was clean. The decoration had some minor marks of age, but not significant. There was a strong smell of tobacco in the room on entry, but opening the window soon cleared it. Generally it was as comfortable as before, and for the price and location near the railway station, it was enormously good value. I did not have breakfast in the hotel, since a very short walk past the Mairie there is an outstandingly good boulangerie, open early, and with coffee.
The neighbourhood is run down and scruffy, pavements are cracked and neglected, despite its central location. The Hotel consists of several blocks of low rise buildings. The building adjacent the entrance gives a poor impression on approach, needing maintenance of peeling windows and lacking paint. The stairway and lobby are tiled with marked and scruffy carpet tiles, giving a poor impression on entering and going upstairs. The owners should swap these carpet tiles for others in better condition.

The breakfast is a bit poor. Not a piece of ham or anything substantial. The smell of smoke in the room can be annoying. Cracked walls and dirty toilets inside.

Excellent value and location. We were ferry foot passengers and the port bus took us directly there because it is directly opposite the station. We had a short walk to find somewhere nice to eat in the evening. Perfect for an early start by train to Paris the following day.
Budget hotel but still great value.

Near to the shuttle however I have stayed in Coquelles before and prefer it there. It was very basic and just about clean. The breakfast was good for the money, basic but plentiful and nice coffee served from 6.30am week days which was great for our early start. Good secure parking for motorbikes, lockable gate. Staff were friendly and Wifi was good.
We had no loo roll had to ask, the shower didn't work as the holder for the shower head was broken. It was rather noisy, coach full of school kids and loud guests. The beds were rather hard but did manage to get a good nights sleep which is important when riding. Just outside the hotel there was a green where sadly the homeless slept, it was not the best area. It looked a bit like a prison block.

Nothing
The administration of the hotel do not read or answer the customer's messages. Nobody in the hotel will help you from 12.00 till 17.00 and from 21.00 till 6.30. Everything is closed in the hotel and nobody from the staff is available. If you arrive at that hours you will not be able to get your room. After that they take money from your bank card and will not return in any case. I've been to this hotel once in winter and saw how dirty it is, smell is strong and some windows in the hotel are broken.

The only thing to say was, the bedding was clean.
Broken window lock. Wall lamp was loose. Electricity socket also loose. The skirting board was non existence in the bedroom and the bathroom. Dirty grouting. Paper above the bunk bed was hanging off the wall.
Room 20.

The breakfast was good value for money and was a good variety continental breakfast
We had multiple issues with the room. Room smelt of cigarette smoke, there were cigarette burns, open electrics, rotten skirting boards, nicotine on the heater, the shower rail was hanging off the ceiling. My biggest concern was the entrance door to our room as this was so stiff you had to put your full wait on it to open it and to shut it, which is a hazard, I have reduced mobility and use a wheelchair so this was completely unsuitable, luckily was travelling with my hubby who could open and shut the door but he still had to put his full weight against it.
