convenient hotel next to the train station of Calais with good WIFI

location was ideal just 5mn walk to the train station of calais. the hotel is quaint and old vibes. room was comfortable and bahtroom was clean; hot water was available especially during the winter month that i was there!.. room was small but it did the job perfectly. quiet hotel, didnt hear noises from other guests and the streets. And the most important thing that most travellers dont mention in their hotel reviews is the WIFI; i work remotely and need a stable and strong WIFI whenever i stay in hotel and i usually look at this criteria when i book a hotel; and Metropol Hotel got a fast, good WIFI (100Mbs++) and that was from my room, strangely in the lobby the signal was not as strong as in the room (it was decent though). Lastly the price was very reasonable. i recommend the hotel to travellers.

Good location for the town restaurants and bars. Easy to find. Good parking directly opposite (at the bus depot). Very convenient. The breakfast was good.

The hotel is a bit tired overall and a bit dated, but functional. The staff was friendly and helpful. It did what it said on the tin, but had no real flair to it!

breakfast was great, staff were excellent. atmosphere good. Bathroom bath didnt work perfectly so unable to take a bath as the water kept slipping away and it seemed a waste of the good hot water. I hope to return again nice find.

Very unusual hotel, like something from the 1950s

This is a very interesting hotel that looks like it has come in a time warp from the 1950s - except the wet room (I had a disabled access room) which was excellent. Breakfast was good. The bar area downstairs appeared to be very comfortable - again, 1950s style. I should add that there are lifts. Whether this styling is deliberate or not I don't know, but it did make for a stay that was very different from most hotels.

Given how close to England it is, it would have been nice to have been able to get some English TV channels. Would have liked more coffee options (especially some milk!) in the room.

Welcoming staff. Friendly atmosphere. Hotel was very quiet and calm but is only a short walk from the central areas for shopping, restaurants etc. We were able to leave our car securely locked up in a garage so we could relax.

Great stay and a great location, lovely room.

Good sized room, comfy bed and great shower. Was able to park outside with no restrictions. We chose not to have breakfast and went to a local Boulangerie for croissant and coffee instead.

Could have done with more than 3 coat hangers which were quite flimsy and bent with the weight of a denim jacket. Towels on shelf too high in bathroom, no lower hanging rail for towels in bathroom. Accidentally put on electric heater in bathroom as was next to light switch and there was no sign to say what it was for.

Perfectly located at a very good price.

I had booked a room for 1 person, with a garage space for my vehicle. I was also offered adding breakfast each morning, that I took. The parkin garage was excellent, great access and monitored. Breakfast was just right, and a hot option was offered. The bar offered a reasonable selection of beer, wine and spirits. I loved the decorative style. All the staff were friendly, polite. helpful and English speaking. Outside, the centre of town was literally a few minutes walk away, with plenty of food and drink options

Family Vacation

Easy to find and close to Euro Tunnel. It was good for a night but a little bit over priced. Hotel rooms need renovation. Hotel itself is old. Very friendly staff.
