    Booked one night, without notice during the maximum holiday week. It is very simple, twin rooms and very cheap. I've noticed a negative remark from another Brit, complaining that they were swindled into paying the Calais Tourist Tax, whereas the publicity states that taxes are included. This is very common in France as quoting for hotels always states "TTC" (Taxes included) . This refers to VAT (20%) as the local tax, about 1 €, is always charged on arrival. No luxuries, but fine.

    Despite our booking having said it included all taxes, we were told to pay more taxes when we arrived. Wanted €8 each for breakfast even although it was supposedly included. Rooms were beyond basic. Only decent thing was that they helped me call an ambulance when our daughter had an epileptic seizure at check in. When we eventually got back to the hotel from the hospital though it was locked and we spent 10 minutes standing outside waiting to see if anyone would actually let us in after ringing the bell. 💯 will not return.
