Apartment 3

We stayed November 2025 We loved the location right in the heart of the city and very close to the Cathederal and christmas markets all of which were reachable on foot. The Köln HBF is also situated beside the cathedral and easy to get to if needed. The shower was easy to use and held temperature well.

There was a smell of smoke when we arrived and when we left the room for long periods which was easily fixed by opening the window to air the room for a short while. We also struggled to get the sockets to work, we used the extension lead which was adequate as we only needed to use one plug to charge our phones Didn't bother us in anyway but would've helped us when considering booking as we may have been put off so I hope this helps others, there are 62 stairs, which were hard work having just climbed the Cathederal bell tower, and a further 16 to the toilet/shower. Don't be put off by this. It is hard work to climb with luggage, but you don't have to climb them all at once, there are opportunities to stop and catch your breath.

Nearest appartment to train Station, but stairs climbing

Very near to the train station and also Köln Dom. Clean room is nice for young couples. Kettle, microwave, and fridge available. Coffee and tea are also available.

No lift available to reach floor 1, 2 or 3, if you get any appartment be prepared to hand lift them along the stairs, which is very hectic as the stairs are in spiral form, those having Appartment 2 and 3, be ready for some exercise. Toilet for Appartment 3 is 1 level above.

Very central to the Dom. Bed was comfortable. View was nice.

Not much what was advertised was in the apartment. Shower was absolutely tiny, no hot water. Toilet was tiny as well. All okay if you're very skinny. Lots of narrow stairs to reach the apartment, not pleasant with a child in a carrier and buggie. The lights in the stairwell didnt stay on long enough to reach the floor that the apartment was on.

Location close to train station

Bathrooms were in stairway and not part of the apartment. No hot water for showers. Limited plug outlets to charge phones. No instructions on the need to plug in the internet modem…so had no internet.

It was not enjoyable I thought the place was a fire risk

I was not told there was no lift. Also the toilet and shower were up two flights of stairs The blind on one of the windows fell down There was a kettle and tea bags but only plastic cups to drink with No smoke detectors It was so bad we only stayed one night of the two we booked and had pay for then had to pay another fee for a hotel on our last night

Good

Perfect location and loved the old building! The room was spacious and check in/check out was very easy and smooth. Although I've never met anybody from the staff, I really appreciate their quick responses and overall service.

Unfortunately, although I knew it, it's kind of a hard thing to drag a big heavy suitcase up the steep narrow stairs. I was on the third floor too 🤣 The bathroom was clean but obviously it was a bit uncomfortable since it was on the floor above me. No complaints about it though, it is what it is. I would stay there again as it is right next to the station and the main sights and you really can't beat that.

Apartment ruiend our break. We were scared to sleep.

UNSAFE. AVOID. FRONT DOOR BROKEN, DOES NOT LOCK, PEOPLE CAN WALK IN FROM THE STREET. WE WERE SCARED TO SLEEP. You will regret staying here. I had apartment 3. Its described incorrectly as split level apartment, making you think there is an upstairs to your private apartment. There is not. You have to come out of the apartment and walk up another flight of stairs to use the toilet and bathroom. Everyone has access to the stairs, so you are not alone. The owner messaged me and said the are waiting for the front door to be fixed.

The apartment is very tiny, just one room. Awful bathroom. We booked for 4 people I had to do the second bed by myself....not a big problem but it would be nice for guests to find out everything ready. No kitchen.
