Nice and clean motel, would recommend for short stay.

Comfortable

I didn’t have high expectations but the motel met our needs. It was clean and comfortable and a reasonable priced.

Unfortunately I thought we had booked a 2 bedroomed unit but 1 guest was sleeping in the lounge area. The bathroom door was very noisy (squeaky) which consequently woke the guest in the lounge. The door needs some CRC !!!!

Quick pit stop for the start of our NZ trip

We stayed here for 1 night after arriving into Auckland from a long haul international flight at 23:30am. We used this at a stop to get some sleep before travelling onto the Bay of Islands. Great distance from the airport after a long flight, self check-in couldn’t have been easier, parking right near room, and the room and bathroom were very clean. Perfect for what we needed and would recommend for that.

If staying longer than a night it’s worth knowing that the walls are paper thin but it didn’t bother us for our one night stay.

Clean and tidy

Location good for me. Easy and clean. Roomy shower room. Easy access good air conditioning. Clearly the place had been spruced up!

The blinds did not stop the light. The window at the front of the room wouldn’t close sufficiently and in the morning there was quite a bit of noise coming into the room. Quite expensive for what it was…no frills… no breakfast…and no one around in the morning.

This was a return visit as we love the area and find Summer Motel ideal for our needs

Well located about 15 minutes walk from the restaurants and shops and about 200 metres from the beach, the renovated suites are very smart and comfortable,

It was close to where we needed to be for the weekend

The noise from the road but it was understandable. There was no rubbish bin in the toilet, we needed an iron so had to ask reception for one as one wasn’t provided in the room. No hand towel provided so we had to ask for one as well.

It was ok but could definitely do with a couple of things to make it better

Good location and very clean

There was not iron or ironing board, had to use a steamer which did not work. No full length mirrors and only one mirror which was in the bathroom. The pillows were very uncomfortable.

We stayed in a room which was quite noisy due to there being another room or apartment above us, you could hear them walking around and talking.

Was lovely and clean, however specifically booked as said aircon in all rooms which was incorrect.

Great location. Lovely to be upgraded to a family apartment which was bigger than we booked. Was lovely and clean.

Booked as website says aircon in every room however was only in one of the three bedrooms. Had to ask for as an iron as none in rooms. Was provided with a steamer but then had to hurry as was required by another guest. Tv stopped working during our stay and wouldn’t power off so had to cover to remove the brightness when we went to bed. Our apartment was right on the road so if need quiet when sleeping make sure you get a booking further at the back of the property.

Okay for one night passing through.

It does look like the pictures online however from outside it looks very ramshackle and ugly. Hopefully they will renovate the outside next to match the inside. It was very clean but cheap sheets were scratchy and noisy and so were the towels.

Lovely renovation!

Reception lady was so lovely, she let us check in early:) she also upgraded my room to a 2bdrm family suite! Very friendly staff, we asked for a hand towel and she bought one over straightaway. The new renovation is lovely and clean. Lovely homely feel and loved the aircon. Perfect location, a few mins walk to the beach.

Only some things to point out - The shower flow was very weak. No rubbish bins in the bathroom and 2nd bedroom. We had our own rubbish bags which helped. No hooks in the entire room and bathroom, to hang keys or bath towels/toiletry travel bags etc. There were a few ants i saw in the 2nd bedroom which i had to get rid of with a piece of tissue. Might need some sort of ant control or something. No netflix in my family suite room, but the rest of my family each had netflix in their double rooms. Could do with a bbq area, and a little outside renovation.

The beds were comfortable

Our apartment was not serviced even though the information said it would be serviced daily. The shower was not draining properly and some of the painting renovations were shoddy with paint on the carpet and window frames.

The owners have upgrade the rooms with very new good kitchen, new heat pump, new shower and toilet in tiled bathroom, beds new, paint work new carpet new and practical chairs/table and settee. There is ample space that is practicable and comfortable.

Fantastic room and facilities in a great location, safe and easy to access

Great location in Orewa - close enough to walk to town/shops but far enough away for peace and quiet. Room was clean, new and comfortable with suitable parking for all guests. Everything was brand new and facilities worked perfectly (great hot water, excellent wifi, fridge was cold). Motel owners accommodated our arrival after hours.

There is no dedicated dining room or lounge area, and the property becomes very warm, with only one bedroom equipped with air conditioning. Although the owners have made efforts to revamp the three bedroom (unit), some of the workmanship and finishing details fall short of expectations. Considering these factors, the nightly rate feels somewhat high.

The accommodation is on the highway but we heard no noise in spite of being towards the front of the building. The bathroom was big.

A night in Orewa.

We were given an upgrade to a studio. Beautiful rooms with a comfortable bed. Recently refurbished and very tastefully done. Everything clean and tidy. Close to town and the beach.

There was no side table on one side by the bed.
