Excellent location on the beach at Orewa. One of the few properties on the beach front to have a garden with bench tables and mature Pohutakawa trees overlooking the sea. Room was spacious with lovely decor, well equipped kitchen.

Cozy and convenient

We had week-long stay here whilst visiting NZ for the first time. The location was superb, stepped right outside to the beach and only a short drive from Auckland and many beautiful walking tracks and beaches.

Very good stay overall - with the negative items a minor irritation

Very good location right near the beach with good sea view from upstairs.

Lack of any effective sound insulation - we could hear the neighbours talking quite clearly next door (the property is definitely aging). Also a coffee table in the lounge would be nice to put your cups and glasses on

Loved the beautiful scenery and the location.

The location and the scenery. I really liked the informative folder provided, with places to visit, such as the nearby cafes, bars, restaurants and take aways.

No net curtains, just drapes. Felt exposed to neighbours across us. Bedroom seems smaller than pictured. Car park space was rather tight for our vehicle.

Just outside of Aukland, near to so many beaches, convenient spacious room

Quaint and spotless beachfront unit with everything I might need for a stay. My favorite was waking up to a view of the sunrise over the water from my wall of windows. Fairly quiet (until the unfortunately timed construction starts, but the beach sea wall was coming along nicely).

Perhaps a second curtain that allows natural light while maintaining privacy for client and traffic during the daytime.

Excellent!

I highly recommend this motel. Trina and Derek make you feel very welcome. The room was beachfront and was cosy and comfortable. The motel is located just out of the town centre so is peaceful but supermarkets and a variety of eateries are a very short drive away. The Edgewater has a special charm. Not my first visit and, I hope, not my last.

Everything - the host was very warm and welcoming. We only had a short overnight stay so the facility was great for us. We had a sea view room which added to our enjoyment

Sadly, there are construction works going on between the motel and the beach. They did warn us, beach access was closed. But the works are nearly finished.

Wonderful stay , despite the weather!-we are from Qld-and we will definitely stay there if we get to come back.

We had a beach front unit! The view was exceptional. There was no noise from the work going on making the sea wall and it was interesting to watch. The unit was everything we needed: warm and clean , and serviced daily to a high standard. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The 18 stairs were a challenge when we first arrived jet lagged from overnight flight, with luggage. We are in our 70’s . But Derek , the owner, raced to help us which was so much appreciated! Thank you Derek!

Pleasant spacious motel units in a lovely setting. Highly recommend.

My single bedroom unit was spacious and comfortable with everything we needed. It was good for my special needs son to have space to play with his stuff and feel at home.

We did request two units close together and it was a short walk for my 90 year old mum to come from her unit to join us for meals etc at my unit. She managed okay but if the weather hadn't been good it would have been a problem for her. She also mentioned a rail to hold onto in the shower would have been very helpful for her. It would also be useful to have scissors and tissues provided in the units.
