Our little get away.

The closeness to the centre but still far enough away not to be disturbed by any late night noise.

The shower was in the bath tub, for older clientele like us this proved problematic.

Disappointed with the room

The location was great, nice and close to town and the beach. Was also easy to find. Parking was good with enough space.

The bathroom completely flooded when you used the shower, it was a disability friendly room which is ok, but it was extremely slippery after the shower water reached the toilet and sink. A squeegee was supplied to push the water back so obviously aware of the problem. The light from a bulb right in front of a window was on all night and it was right above the bed was very annoying. Over all the cost for the room was over what you would expect for the state of it.

Noise within the building, slamming doors at night. Couch bed for kids incredibly squeaky everytime someone moves, when sleeping on it the foot end lifted off the ground and was unsafe. Very tired, new carpet and paint needed.

Place in the Sun

Location is perfect for getting around the Hibiscus Coast. Room was clean and tidy. Staff was accomodating.

The location was great

The unit had ants everywhere, the fridge which was very small was rusty all along the bottom, very old carpet that was stained and worn needing replacing. No lifts so only access to second floor units is via outside stairs. Overall, very tired old motel for paying premium prices and photos misleading.

It was very enjoyable and we would definitely book again just a little disappointed with the upkeep.

Room was great we booked a spa suite and it was larger than we expected and very comfortable with a lovely private patio of the lounge area. very quiet for being on a main road too. in room kitchen facilities were great.

The paint was literally hanging off the ceiling in the bathroom. the back of the bathroom sliding door was very dirty. There were ants in the main living room. under the couch was very dirty with other peoples hair.

Used durex found under the bed

The location is good, but they are redoing the promenade on the beach, so it was difficult to access it. Should be okay when they have finished it.

I found a used durex under the bed, the bath was very badly marked and not clean and the sink sat on a plinth that was very badly water damaged. This was the worst hotel on our trip and the most expensive. Do not stay here. There are plenty more in Orewa.

It’s not that we didn’t like the rooms but they are starting to need a freshen up. They are still in good order but the rooms need to be “lightened” and freshened up a bit. Modernised a bit more. But in saying that, we would still return here quite happily.

Very convenient and lovely staff

I loved how I could communicate with the staff there even the cleaners were lovely! You don’t usually get that at many places nowadays so I really appreciated it. Any minor issues were resolved straight away, the location was very convenient right next to the beach and close to the shops

The dryer isn’t really that good but overall everything else was just what I needed 👌🏽

The decor was very tired and in need of an update. Lack of attention to detail ie one curtain on ranchslider was hung back to front and the hem was undone etc. some furniture was showing signs if being very worn

Avoid this place if you can.

It was quiet. The staff were polite and friendly.

The photos and blurb make the room appear much larger than it really was. There was a window between the bedroom and toilet, making it impossible to use the toilet without disturb the people bedroom. The fold out bed was the single most uncomfortable thing I have slept on in 50 years.
