The apartment was spacious and liked the layout. The location was lovely and so close to the local pub which was very nice.
There was mould in the en-suite bathroom (not sure how well the extractor fan worked and you can't open the skylight) and you couldn't close the door properly. The fridge seemed quite dirty aswell as finding a few unwashed items in the cupboard. Overall parts looked a bit tired but for what we paid and the area it didn't ruin the stay.
Would have also been useful to have an oven glove and a bit more washing up liquid to do the dishes.

Location
It was very cold. The storage heaters hardly gave out any heat. Not helped by the cleaner leaving the door open while cleaning. Oven was filthy. Also table was sticky. Mould in the en-suite. No instructions for cooker or microwave.

Central village location, very convenient for the Durham Ox. Spacious and comfortable with good parking. Excellent communication from the hosts.
Nothing serious at all, just minor points. We couldn't find instructions about the cooker or microwave, both of which took us some time to master. It would have been nice to have some leaflets about the history of the village and the surrounding area, as well as information on local attractions/activities.

Lovely area. Quite. Nice and warm once in the apartment.
The stairs because of my disability, but nothing else.

It was very beautiful and cosy
Everything was great , although some of the channels on the tv weren’t working, reception issues I think, but saying that, it was really important ,

Great location very close to Easingwold and all the beautiful places around. Pretty village with village church and the Durham Ox opposite, which serve fantastic meals.
Just lacked a welcome pack on arrival which is always a nice touch. No written info about oven, or local area. Owner answered queries promptly though. We had a problem with the lock which was sorted, and probably could do with being able to lock the doors downstairs.

The location is great, directly opposite the Durham Ox pub, which serves nice pub meals and bar food. The apartment is exactly as described, a cute little comfy place.
The sash windows look lovely but let in a lot of sound, so be prepared for this if you're a light sleeper, as every passing vehicle woke me up but still enjoyed my stay. There's no shop locally, so it would be nice if a pint of milk was provided and maybe a biscuit. Those little touches go a long way. (I'd happily pay a little more to have those included)

We stayed at this property before in July 2023 and rated it a 9 and were happy to come again.
Location is excellent as easy travelling to numerous attractions in the area
Easy drive to park and ride in York (Rawcliffe park and ride)
Communication with host excellent
Property is a good size and we were perfectly happy with comfort of both bed and the sofa bed
More than enough seating for guests both on sofas and at dining table
Off road parking outside property is good
Kitchen worktops very clean
In 2023 our comment was that the inside of the oven looked like it needed a good clean. Our comment on inside of oven this visit is it was absolutely filthy and doesn't look like its been cleaned since our 2023. The shelf and cooking trays were dripping with grease and it was really quite disgusting. We need self catering as one member of party is on restricted diet and we need to be able to cook suitable meals. We had to manage by lining the oven shelf with foil and making sure all food cooked was well wrapped in foil. Fortunately we always take a couple of small oven trays so did not have to attempt to clean the ones provided. Cups were all full of tea stains and needed washing before they could be used, the frying pan was dripping in oil inside and out and again had to give it a good wash before using it.
TV very old and needs replacing as although happy not to have a smart TV the basic channels would be nice, we had to retune 3 times in a 4 night stay as it kept loosing the channels!
The overall cleanliness off the property was considerably worse than last time we visited and it looked like a deep clean is never done. Stains on soft furnishings, main bathroom smelt very strongly of mould and has some on the ceiling. Vegetation outside growing over some windows, tree left to grow so high it blocks view from window down the street. Entrance garden area very overgrown and area swarming with flies that appeared to be attracted by filthy bins, had to fight through them to get in an out of property which was not pleasant at all. Rotting wooden bench an eyesore.
A real pity as its a lovely property that just needs a bit of TLC and a decent clean. We certainly wont use it again as heaven knows how filthy it will be next time.

The location is perfect for us as we have relatives in Crayke and we can park at Hawthorn
It's all a bit tired and not quite as clean as we would expect in some areas such as the kitchen cutlery drawer which had a dollop of butter smeared inside for example. The TV won't work at all on the main channels, only obscure digital ones. A very basic welcome pack with coffee, tea and milk would have been appreciated after a long journey.

Lovely flat, clean and comfortable. Was just a base so didn't use the kitchen, but it appeared to have everything you could want for a stay.
Tv wouldn't tune into many channels.
Sofa bed in lounge was a little uncomfortable.

The location and proximity to York and surrounding area
Firstly trying to find where the parking area is a bit unclear. The instructions sent are “directly opposite the Durham Ox, please park in the bay behind the wall” it’s not that clear what this means. It’s actually diagonally on the main road (what 3 words family.brisk.gent). the entrance is up some stairs, so be warned if mobility is a concern. We get in, and on first sight everything looks good, nothing for a cuppa supplied, try to get out and cant as lock won’t work, Host moved us to the lower cottage. Workies who occupied this are in upstairs, try internet and they switched it off to charge their phone (host sorted it) but they did this often at night. When working was good WiFi
Honeysuckle is now our cottage, So review is for that. Negatives are TV is not smart and tried a firestick in, but HDMi ports don’t work, normal TV is also very poor reception, as is mobile sofas are badly worn and not comfortable (sink right down) No heating at night as old storage heater, and all heat stored is gone by time needed (no instructions) only heat is a small heater supplied. Oven is filthy badly needing a deep clean, blinds in kitchen also broken, one fell down when trying to close. Bed is VERY firm, Shower trap was absolutely filthy at least toilet was clean, nothing apart from soap supplied, says toiletries supplied, we never had extra toilet paper (bought our own). Description needs updated as outside area is covered in weeds and seating rusty and dirty. The whole place would benefit from a good deep clean inside and also outside, updated TV and sofas
pity as would be a great place if things got done, as all have been reported by other guests

We had a lovely stay in a charming cottage/flat in Crayke, York. The flat itself was cozy and perfectly located in a beautiful village setting. While it could have done with a deeper clean (there were a few cobwebs and the oven door was dirty), it didn’t take away too much from our overall experience.
There were a couple of minor disturbances — a dog staying downstairs barked quite a lot and woke us on the first morning, and there was some confusion when the owner, thinking the flat was empty, dropped off bedding for the cleaner. It was a bit surprising but no real harm done. On our last morning, we were woken a little earlier than expected by what seemed to be a window cleaner, but again, just a small inconvenience.
All in all, we enjoyed our time there. The village of Crayke is absolutely lovely, and The Durham Ox pub across the road was a real highlight — fantastic food, drinks, and a great atmosphere. Despite the few small hiccups, we would definitely return to the area for another visit!

Very spacious and clean, I live 3 hours away so while I was out the whole day I wanted somewhere to stay the night and it was perfect. The pub food across the road is delicious!

The location is wonderful. The apartment is very comfortable, with plenty of sofa seats, a dining table, tv for watching free view channels, and the kitchen is very well equipped for cooking. We found towels on arrival, which we didn't expect. The ensuite was clean and well functioning, as was the bathroom off the living room. The bedroom was fit for purpose, and we found the bed comfortable during our 4 night stay.
The owners communicated well.
We explored the surrounding area a little. The Durham Ox was a stones throw away and very welcoming. Easingwold is a very close village with good amenities, including a co-op. The village has a local market on a Friday morning, which we purchased fresh bread and fruit from, and the butchers had a great selection of meats and pies.
The only tiny issue was that we struggled to work the oven, but that may be more an user issue that equipment issue.

Pictures do not do this property justice! A lovely quaint cottage, all the amenities you could need and more, and a super friendly host who came to the rescue when we accidentally locked ourselves in the apartment! Would definitely stay again, great value for money and an easy 30 minute drive into York centre.
Bed was slightly hard for our personal preference but were both so tired we slept like logs!

It was a little confusing finding the apartment and the key safe but once found, all was good
The sofa beds were a bit dated and therefore uncomfy

Beautiful clean cottage in a beautiful quiet village.
Spacious & comfortable
Would've been helpful if there was coffee and a jug of milk as you don't pack those things for 1 night away.

Noise from the road .

The photos don’t do this property justice, it’s much lighter and roomier than the photos suggest . The flat is lovely - everything you needed was there. It was nice having the use of two bathrooms.
The location was very pretty too.
There was nothing to not like . It was very cosy and had all the amenities in the flat needed for a week stay .
We were visiting family in Easingwold . It would have been useful to know there are no shops in Crayke so that we could have bought provisions for the first night . That said Easingwold is close by and there are plenty shops to stock up on everyday basics . There were teabags provided . There is a good fridge to store purchases.

Easy access to all attractions in area and York. Kitchen facilities very good, plenty of space in seating and dining area and easy access to property from parking space.
Oven looked like it needed a good clean inside but that said it cooked brilliantly. Hob was bit tricky to switch on and no instructions so had to work it out. Would have been nice to be able to open the bathroom windows to give them good airing. Both minor points and would not stop us using the property again.

It was well furnished, clean and ideally located
Parking was very tight to manoeuvre with another car parked there and on a very tigh/blind bend, nearly got sit twice by car coming around the corner
