Not much very dated and web page is very flattering

We booked this hotel because of the spa that is the only reason we were told that the spa was very good. I phoned the hotel and on arrival spoke with the hotel and paid €30 for use of the spa. I am registered disabled and when I hit changed and into my swim shorts and was about to get into the pool I was stopped by a pleasant guy but never the less it was very embarrassing. I was not allowed to swim swim shorts only tight fighting speedos which is a hard ask when your body does not conform. Girl at spa reception was very rude and laughed as we were leaving. I asked to speak with the manager at the time and still waiting.

The only thing I would like to say that location is a little bit far from the centre, anyway, we walked there in about 30 minutes.

Comfortable room

Completely closed rooftop bar, not informed when booking. Extra charge for spa, not part of the hotel, situated next door. We were informed that the restaurant was fully booked although there were several empty tables when we looked in twice during the evening.

Definitely does not deserve 5-star ranking by French standards. More like a 3-star hotel.

Very basic, minimal breakfast. Not inline with others 5 star hotels in France.

Very old rooms, bed linen not very clean, no amenities, everything looked like it hadn't been cleaned and was shabby.

A bit of well deserved luxury

Bed was amazing, room was lovely. Great access to Royatonic. Lovely hotel and very nice breakfast

The room was very cold, one staff member in particular was quite rude. The room service menu was limited and the food (lasagne) was burnt and not worth €18. (The front desk did offer us a complimentary breakfast as compensation)

hotel looks nice on the outside

pictures online suggest a spa is included also when you look it up trough Google it says breakfast is included. both are not though. which was a disappointment. when we decided after all to use the spa but I was not allowed to go in cause in didn’t appropriate swimwear and was told to buy a new swim short for another 30 euros extra. very disappointing and also rude staff who didn’t seem compassionate about anything.

Not a 5 star hotel

The hotel has a great location to visit the Puy Dôme. But it is not a 5 star place. The staff is not exceeding expectations. They did not mention on forehand that the spa was closed and I had to go back 5 times to ask for compensation. Which in the end they solved. The breakfast is average you would expect fresh coffee and more options for hot dishes.

The rooms air conditioning wasn’t working correctly and despite calling down to have it corrected briefly, it failed again. A hot and sleepless night. The staff’s attitude in the morning was a shrug of the shoulders! Not worth the 5* rating or the £186 we paid for the night.

Une parenthèse enchantée !

Nous avons adoré l'ambiance et le cadre de cet hôtel. Chaleureux, cosy, élégant... charmant ! Le personnel est très disponible et agréable sans pour autant être guindé. Nous avons dîné le soir au restaurant la Flèche d'Argent : le menu à 5 services était un délice ! Et nous avons profité le matin des bienfaits du centre attenant Royatonic : un vrai moment de détente et de calme. Nous reviendrons !
