Interesting Town of Royat.

Pretty hotel with lots of history, close to everything. Staff and the hotel cat were all great.

Overall we were very pleasantly surprised as to how good this hotel was !

The dinner and breakfast were both very good and the staff extremely helpful.

The location was long way out of the centre of Clermont Ferrand (2/3 miles ?) but as we were only staying the one night it was not a major problem.

Not an easy walk into Clermont Ferrand although there were some buses. A pool would have been a real bonus.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good food and value. Quaint traditional style.

Cracked toilet. Exposed electrical lamp cable. No shower curtain, so a wet slippery floor to step onto and clean up. Bath is high and huge, shower is in the bath, so it was difficult for my elderly mother to use. Terrible pillows. No kettle, tea/coffee/water in the room.

Beautiful old hotel in a pretty park, very comfortable bed, very good breakfast, friendly helpful staff.

The footsteps, shower, coughing etc. of the guests in the room above was disturbing at night.

Véry pretty, very vintage, very friendly. The restaurant was great and the breakfast too. It was also great value for money, per friendly, had its own garden which was also very pretty.

Fantastic

We were visiting the volcanoes around Clermont Ferrand and this was the perfect base for a couple of nights. The hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly at all times. Both the interior and the garden were well maintained and comfortable. Formal dining in the evening was delicious and beautifully served and presented. Breakfast was also a delicious and well presented affair. Our light double aspect room was spacious and comfortable and furnished beautifully. The separate bathroom was also excellent.

This was perfect for us. Clean and well kept. Just lovely.

It was close to the therms which is why we chose to stay there but it’s not close to much else.

It’s a lovely hotel with quite nice furnishings in the room even if the halls, etc are a little long in the tooth.

A taste of history

Lovely historic hotel. Spotless, impeccably clean room. While the room was not large, the high ceilings made it seem more spacious. Lots of storage in the room and the bathroom. Welcoming and friendly staff. A nice breakfast with local cheeses, fresh fruit, excellent pastries. The house cat is very sweet and friendly.

The parking is free and easy, but if the restaurant is busy, it can be hard to find an available spot in the evening. Because it is an older hotel, you can hear the footsteps and doors in the neighboring rooms and floors.

The room we chose was as we expected. The bathroom was above expectation and functioned better than many . Staff were very friendly to us and our Labrador dog.

Nice hotel VERY hard bed

Lovely staff, good restaurant, nice location. Typical French hotel, a little tired but very clean. It’s currently having some rooms renovated and ours had a new bathroom which was very nice.

The bed was extremely hard; it just felt solid so I slept very badly. For this reason we probably would not stay here again (which is a shame because otherwise it was fine).
