Room category not respected — misleading listing and photos

The reception staff is communicative and helpful – even friendly – but can only do so much with what they have in their hands. However, they do not appear authorized to decide on much of anything on their own.

What you see online is NOT what you get. This felt like a (bad) youth hostel, not a hotel. I specifically booked a street-facing Classic/Standard double room, clearly differentiated on Booking.com by photos and description. I was instead assigned a 1st-floor courtyard room with almost no natural light, visibly older and in far worse condition than advertised. The room was worn and poorly maintained (plastic flooring, dirty shower cabin, faulty lighting, misaligned toilet seat). This was not a minor downgrade but a different product altogether. The issue was reported immediately and repeatedly over a 4-night stay. No room change, no solution, no communication. The mention of a “commercial gesture” only came at checkout, making it meaningless. This turned out to be the offer of free breakfast on my next stay – which will happen exactly never. This is not about preference — it is about non-conformity between what is sold and what is delivered. Some rooms are basic at best, worn out and unkempt at worst. That makes this a very risky booking. Book with caution.

Get location, comfortable room and good value

Location was good with lots of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. Close to main square and tram stop. Room was very clean and comfortable bed. Good breakfast for 10 euro

Would have liked tea and coffee facilities in the room, however you could get a coffee at reception for €2, so not really an issue.

Fine for the price - functional

Just fine for a night in the city - tolerably ok decor, clean, comfy and most importantly quiet. Staff helpful.

Quick city tour

A nice hotel in the very center of the old town. It is situated in a small side street, so you don't hear the loud noise from the nearby bars. 50 meters from the tram line station. They were kind to keep our baggage for the afternoon, after we left the room.

There was an old air-conditioner mounted in the room, obviously non-working, and there was another one, mounted right next to it, which was new and worked just fine. Strange!

Nice hotel in Old town

The location was great, in the pedestrian area of Old town. The hotel has an elevator. The receptionist was very friendly and gave us great recommendations for dinner and breakfast (the hotel also offers breakfast). There is paid parking a few steps from the hotel.

5 stars hotel for fraction of the cost

This place is a hidden gem, located in the heart of the city, bars and restaurants all around within a walking distance. The room is super comfortable, bathroom is spacious and everything was sparkling clean. The staff were super friendly, prepared our stay despite we arrived late after hours, and as a bonus they didn't charge for our fur baby. An amazing experience, 5 stars hotel for a fraction of the cost.

Superb

The hotel is in the historic centre of the city. Very easy access to tram, city centre. You can't hear neighbours. Breakfast choices weren't very wide but I think it is enough. We even got coffee in the middle of the day.

I had room on street side. There are bars on that street and you hear joy of others very good, even in the third floor. Take room on other side if you have problems with sleeping in noisy context.

I was very delayed in arrival. On contacting hotel they gave me the access code to the front door and left my room key on reception for me which was very helpful

This was a very efficiently run property, in a great location, where the staff were mindful of guests needs and comforts

they said they had AC but then when you get there they say it is broken since may no fixing. front desk not 24/7 which is fine but they CHANGED THE CODE without letting me know resulting in me being locked out for over 30 min at 5am as I was returning from a wedding. i was lucky a friend who was in another room heard me yelling and told me the new code. ABSURD!!

Do not stay at Dav' Hotel if you want to sleep well

I did not like anything about this stay.

Absolutely horrible. First and last use of booking. Room stank of raw sewage. Flickering neon sign outside and lots of noise, had a bad nights sleep.

Amazing value central hotel

Great priced hotel in an amazing location. clean, comfortable with quirky modern decor. it’s just off the main square, which has an underground car park, so very easy to get to by car. the hotel is close to great restaurants and bars - including an affordable Michelin rated restaurant three doors away. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. breakfast was nice, plentiful and great value. we will definitely stay here again.

Lovely Hotel, perfect location. Incredible value for money.

For Value for money this can’t be beaten. Spacious, clean , comfortable room. Staff where lovely. Breakfast was the usual pastries, cheese etc all great and much cheaper than comparable hotels The location could not be better. 50 metres from the main square, which has a car park under it. The rooms are a little tired and in need of renovations BUT, because of that, the hotel is so cheap it’s nuts. My advise - stay here and use the money you save by eating at “the bistro next door” , thats it’s name not location, it’s actually 3 doors away. Will definitely stay again
