We travelled all over Scotland, staying in some wonderful places, but Tigh Nah Fraoch was without a doubt our favourite. I genuinely fell in love with this place.
The location is simply stunning. The views are incredibly beautiful and very hard to beat — surrounded by the wild beauty of the Isle of Skye, with peace and quiet all around you. And the sunsets are to die for. Sitting there watching the landscape change with the evening light was one of the highlights of our entire trip.
The chalet itself is fantastic: super clean, beautifully looked after and incredibly comfortable. The beds were excellent, and the kitchen was large and so well equipped that it really felt like a home from home. Having such a good washing machine and dryer was also hugely appreciated during a road trip around Scotland!
What really struck us was the care that had gone into everything. When we arrived, the host had made sure the house was already warm, cosy and welcoming, which was such a thoughtful touch.
It’s that perfect combination: all the comforts of home, but in a location that is anything but ordinary. Peaceful, comfortable, surrounded by beauty and with unforgettable views.
If we return to Skye, I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else. Absolutely incredible.

Excellent location on Skye, quiet, peaceful but accessible to many key spots and dining options. Comfortable, cosy accommodation with everything you need for your stay. Courteous hosts.

Tigh na Froach is a delight! Serene, inviting, fabulous views from windows in the front rooms, comfortable beds, good shower/bath, fully equipped kitchen plus washer & dryer, relaxing living room. Limited outdoor space, but deck offers table & chairs with amazing view. Stop in Portree coop to get food & supplies before arrive because you do not want to leave once you are at Tigh na Froach. Our time here & on the Isle of Skye in general was a gift!
I would rearrange the living room to take full advantage of the view! Little fireplace is not worthy of taking away view space.
