Good cottage, good location just needs a few maintenance things sorted

Location and the visual fir money

There were a few maintenance issues that need sorted. Shower has leaking pipe Threshold into dining room taped Fridge and freezer cabinet had no door No curtain in twin room Need addressed to make it great!

Fantastic and cozy house

This is a fantastic house to stay in Portree. The view is absolutely breathtaking and peaceful, offering a perfect setting to relax and unwind. The location brings you close to nature, with a serene river nearby and stunning scenic sunsets to enjoy each day. The dining table and kitchen are thoughtfully designed to accommodate a big family, making it easy to cook a sumptuous meal and gather around for a warm, memorable dining experience.

Some of the fafilities are abit dated, however the house remains confortable and cozy overall. Do note that only one of the two bathrooms is equipped with a shower, which may be a slight inconvenience for larger groups.

Stunning location and a beautiful home

The views are gorgeous! Beds are comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. House warm and cosy. Eclectic farm house furniture adds to the charm. Lots of space for kids to run and a lovely walk down to the beach. Friendly farmer neighbours and dogs, rabbits, sheep and cows to say hello to. We loved our 5 nights here!

Not a critique, but just a note to keep an open mind the first time you drive into the property through the ‘working farm’ - e.g. the sheds and machinery (as well as junk and old cars). Driveway has potholes to avoid too.

We had a great stay and would love to come back

It is a very cosy house. The surroundings are amazing. The neighbours are also very friendly, they let you walk in their huge garden reaching the sea.

The house might need Some further renovation but on the other hand it is very charming.

Superb

The location, views from the garden, comfortable beds and spacious kitchen were all great! we saw some amazing sunsets from the house in the few days that we stayed. Communication with Sandra and Grant was easy and quick. We were a little bit worried about the road to access the cottage but this wasn’t necessary. Would definitely recommend and boom again!

A couple of nights on Skye

Location was excellent with Portree being not too far away and an incredibly gorgeous view! Fairy pools and Dunvegan castle and numerous brochs are all close by making this a great place to stay-ACE target sports are again close by and Axe throwing as we did on the trip back to Fife is a must! Neighbours were friendly 😃 human and animal! The layout and the property was fabulous we enjoyed family dinners at the huge table and we did not want for anything in the house. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again when back on Skye.

This is of no fault by the owners. But when you've come off the ferry in Uig and head south as we did the Kingsburgh sign is obscured by sharp bend signs on the main road! Coming North you cant miss it!

lovely comfortable cottage, amazing view, tricky access.

the view is stunning. the cottage is quirky, cosy, warm, comfortable. beds were lovely and comfy. well equipped. WiFi a bit iffy but that goes with the location. everything worked. good size fridge, good shower, plenty of hot water

Flooring is rather uneven between different rooms/ stairs. some different levels covered by rugs but if you are walking around without shoes or slippers you can trip or stub your toe. maybe the flooring project is not complete? it is such a shame about the road into the property, potholes are an understatement. the gate nearest the cottage works ok but the second one that belongs to the neighbour is broken, heavy to lift, held in place by half another gate and is barely on one of its hinges. it is very hard to open and took two of us to lift it, even more difficult to put back in place. It is sad to see such a pretty cottage surrounded by a conglomeration of abandoned farm machinery and equipment, some of which is obviously beyond repair, plus the potholes, it makes access a challenge.

The views from the Old Crofthouse are exceptional. The cottage is cosy and well equipped. Fabulous shower-room and comfortable beds. The owners have gone to a lot of effort to create a helpful guide/app to the cottage and surrounding area.

Gorgeous location - stunning views although greater attention to detail needed indoors for price.

Property is in a gorgeous location, stunning views. Very comfortable beds. We liked the history of the house and the fact it was built by the owners Grandfather 100 years ago. Some of the original features were really nice and all the old photos etc nice to look at. Neighbours very friendly and my children loved meeting the sheep Kenny.

Some aspects of the house were a little untidy. The dishwasher was still full of dishes - had been washed although not put away. Many aspects of the house are quite outdated - whilst we liked the history and original features there were holes in the ceiling and gaps with some of the flooring. Expected a higher standard for price paid for just 2 nights. Internet was really poor - Property has NOWTV although we had great difficulty in watching anything in the evening due to the poor connection. Grass in garden had not been cut so unable to make the most of the outdoor - difficult for children to play in garden.

Lovely cottage in good location

The cottage is spacious with new kitchen and bathrooms and is equipped with everything you need for your stay. The owner is really friendly and left us bread, butter, milk and eggs for when we arrived. The bedrooms are very comfortable and stylish. Kingsburgh is only a short drive from Portree so it is well located and makes a good base for exploring Skye. The views from the cottage are beautiful and it is only a short walk down to the shore. I enjoyed my morning coffee in the garden every day looking out over the loch with only the sheep to listen to. My kids (3 and 1) loved it and felt very safe.

The property was a rather tired downstairs with a hotch porch of equipment and accessories. We had a nice stay mainly out and about exploring Skye. Wouldn’t plan to use this as more than a place to rest your head

The house is very impressive with beautiful views and good facilities. Every room is clean and tidy. It is a nice place to relax and enjoy the nature.

The lock box which contains the key is not very easy to open. We may not find the right way to use it.

An ideal countryside farm house

We had booked this place with bunch of friends for our scotland trip. The place gave us an ideal setting to experience the scottish farms. We were given the instructions way ahead of our trip right from collecting the keys to other important instructions. The host - Sandra and Grant were also available to attend to all our queries when needed. Sandra went the extra mile to welcome us with fresh bread, milk, eggs and staples to whip up some quick breakfast incase we arrived hungry - very thoughtful. We were greeted by our neighbors as well who showed around their farm - met 'Nelly' their cow, 'Charlie' their farm dog and their adorable 2 days old lamb. The views were stunning and perfect for a serene morning walk. Overall highly recommend the place for everyone that wants to escape urbanization and be lost in the countryside for a quiet time.

Nice comfortable stay but let down by sizeable cowpats literally everywhere. Difficult to find/enter

The house was comfortable, homely, interesting for a young family. The kitchen is well-appointed. Bedrooms are comfortable. Having some basics in the fridge such as bread, eggs milk etc was appreciated. The shops are about 20 mins drive. View is great, and Skye of course is beautiful.

Not obvious to find, needed call to owner to find final track to house, which is through a farmyard. Retrieving the key from the key safe on the entry gate was tricky and took about 15 minutes and 2 calls to the contact number, a little annoying standing in the rain after a long drive. The huge number of cow pats all over the outside area, so obviously gate or access left open, and children could not play outside. Downstairs bedroom window view is of broken down appliances. Samsung tablet we left by mistake in early November apparently we may only get back in the New Year, we have offered to pay postage/packaging costs. Originally told it would be returned in 2-3 weeks. Ugly hedge needs cutting and view of bay from downstairs is somewhat blocked by this.

Vue sublime sur la mer et les montagnes alentours.Maison très cosy , parfaitement équipée , calme absolu. Endroit parfait pour se reposer et visiter l'ile de Skye

L'environnement autour de la maison , ferme très sale , voitures rouillées qui pourrissent dans le champ derrière , plastique a tous les vents.Vraiment pas top. Le jardinier de la maison est venu sans prévenir ni s'annoncer et pendant 2 heures , au lieu du calme absolu , nous avons eu tondeuse , souffleuse à feuille et au final nous avons dû tout nettoyer derriere.Vraiment pas sympa
