Tides Uig Isle of Skye

We stayed at this villa for four nights and overall had a lovely experience. The location was absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views, and the villa itself was beautiful with a luxurious, modern design. One of the things we appreciated most was that every bedroom had its own en-suite bathroom, which made our stay much more comfortable. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed.

However, there were a few issues that prevented our stay from being perfect. The biggest concern was the cleanliness of the kitchen equipment. Almost every plate, bowl, or utensil we wanted to use had to be washed before use. There was even a pot left inside the dishwasher with burnt rice still stuck to the bottom, showing that it hadn’t been cleaned properly. The villa had a coffee machine, but no compatible coffee pods were provided. It would have been a nice touch to leave a few starter pods so guests could enjoy a coffee before having to go shopping. The BBQ facilities also need more attention. The grill grate was extremely dirty, with burnt food and grease still stuck to it, and the ashes from the previous guests had not been cleaned out. We had to clean everything ourselves before we could use it. The floors could also have been cleaner, as we found several dead butterflies in different areas of the house. A few additional touches would have made the stay even better. We were only provided with one set of towels per person, whereas two sets each would have been much more convenient, even for a four-night stay. There was no laundry detergent or washing-up liquid provided, and the shampoo in the bathrooms was so diluted that it was practically unusable. Despite these issues, we really enjoyed our stay. The villa itself is beautiful, the views are incredible, and it has so much potential. However, considering we paid £3,796 for a four-night stay, we expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and attention to detail. At this price point, guests should not have to rewash kitchenware before using it or clean the BBQ before cooking. With better housekeeping, higher-quality bathroom amenities, and a few thoughtful touches, this property would truly deserve a five-star rating.

The kitchen bin wouldn’t stay on the sliding drawer and no instructions if special technique

Beautifully furnished and decorated with everything we needed. Good size bedrooms with plenty of room for couples travelling together. Safe and convenient parking and well located on the island.

Everything was perfect.
