Nice for a short stay

I wholeheartedly recommend Hippo-droom to anyone in need of a relaxing stay.

The location is what prompted me to book at Hippo-droom. Out in nature and surrounded by forests and lakes but still within a short distance from the airport. I was looking for R&R time to de-stress and find peace of mind. Hippo-droom did not disappoint. The walks in the Sonien forest and surrounding area proved cathartic and invigorating. Had I stayed longer than 5 days, I would have hired a bicycle for broader exploration. The villages in the environs were cute and friendly. There is a museum right by Hippo-droom and worth exploring. The rooms are large, clean and welcoming, with your own patio. The breakfasts were delicious and satisfying. Davy and Ilse were fabulous hosts - so accomodating and gregarious. They went out of their way to help me and to make my stay extra-pleasant. I shall definitely return there if I am ever in Belgium again.

I wasn't expecting to hear the trains at night, but after the second night I didn't even hear them anymore.

Welcoming and quiet

Quietest hotel I have been in Brussels. Not a single noise. Also it stands at the doorstep of the forest and windows open to it, so it is so good for a walk or run. Although I stayed during the cold season, the heating system is fast and impressive.

Couldn't have a chance to test/taste a breakfast as it is too late, especially if you need to avoid the morning's road traffic. A small fridge would be appreciated. Driving out of the small cul de sac is down to someone's good heart, if you leave after 6:45.

Exceptional location, cosy soundproof rooms, good breakfast and very friendly staff. They even have a good selection of beers in minibar! Definitely recommend, especially if you're staying with dogs.

it suited us perfectly with our dog. Good walking close to the hotel. Nice room with an outside terrace.

We had to drive a bit to find somewhere to eat. But we found a very nice Italian restaurant!

Room with dust and problematic drainage of bathroom.

Very dusty rooms with dirt dust and too much flower pollens. bathroom does not have the right angles for the water to flow to the drain. All the water flows out of the bathroom towards the bedrooms. Traveling with a toddler these all was too much.

Very good

This is a great B&B. Spacious rooms with outside veranda, good bathroom and comfortable bed. It is run by a very nice and helpful family. Amazing location just by the beautiful Soignes forest, and quite close to the train to the city (2 min with car, free parking at the station). We would happily come back.

For me the matrass was too hard. I didn't sleep well on it. Bathroom could be a little bit cleaner. No (fresh) fruits at breakfast.

B & B in the woods, still near to city

Perfect for long walks in Foret de Soignes, at the same time near to Groenendaal train station.

The bicycle path was under renovation. Not fault of the hotel but made moving around difficult. The room was a bit too small.
