Comfortable rooms in a beautiful historical building.

The hotel is in a beautiful historical building. The standard double/twin room is in the main building, while the twin room is in the adjacent building. Especially the standard double is very spacious and very well equiped. It is very comfortable, we enjoyed our stay.

Smart hotel. Quiet location. Easy parking. Conscientious staff. Good breakfast buffet. 15 mins walk to other bars and restaurants if preferred.

Great hôtel - suspect our stay.as discounted sokaybe book mid week for a good price

Really excellent hotel at the price point we laid (@100 Eu for a double room and two guests). Stylish rooms with lovely bathroom, very comfortable beds. Excellent restaurant and le club with loud dance music for those who like that kind of thing which stops promptly at 10:30 pm promptly for those that don’t. Excellent breakfast.

A lovely visit ruined by dinner

Rooms are beautiful and well appointed, breakfast excellent and the staff cannot have been more helpful

The restaurant in La Sucrerie was a major disappointment, in comparison with our last visit two years ago. The quality of our meals was not great, service was slow and we had to ask three times before we got our drinks order, which finally arrived when we were nearly finished! We had four meals in Waterloo over the long weekend, this one was by far the most expensive and the worst of the lot. It really lets the hotel down, a real shame.

The food in the main restaurant was very good and the staff at reception were very attentive as well. The location of the hotel was excellent as we were visiting the site of the battle of Waterloo.

The staff at the brasserie restaurant were not attentive at all and very slow and taking your order and then delivering it. When my wife asked where our order for drinks were they were dismissive and rude. Also the wine never did arrive before the food both in the restaurant and the brasserie. Our room was not cleaned or made up even though we were out for nearly 7 hours from 9am and our toilet seat broke..

Acceptable stay. Expensive, but all is expensive around there.

Check-in ok, location ok. Didn't try the bar or the restaurant, but they seems ok as coworker who stayed there before said.

I got the room 17, which is right above the entrance of the second building, so the automatic doors were not pleasant to hear late in the night and early in the morning. Room was noisy, I could hear the noises from outside quite a lot. Also, the AC in the room was not heating, probably because of the season, but luckily, it wasn't that cold at night.

Fabulous stay

The hotel was fabulous. Staff were amazing, and Barbara on reception went out of her way to ensure our early check-in. A lovely lady, and so helpful. The food in the restaurant was outstanding and we can not recommend it enough.

Well located hotel - would stay again!

The location was convenient to travel throughout belgium. The staff were really lovely and we'd definitely come again. The rooms are a little basic but the showers are 100% amazing and thats what we needed! [We didnt take the breakfast so cant comment on that]

the one element that could have been better, when paying 20EUR p/night for a dog fee, it would have been good to have had a water bowl or a mat or doggie treats in the room for the dog. There wasnt anything so please take all of your own doggie bowls with you.

Despite some room issues, the excellent breakfast and friendly staff made the stay worthwhile.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. Upon arrival, I encountered an issue where the room I was assigned differed from the one I had booked. Fortunately, the staff was incredibly accommodating and resolved the situation within half an hour. However, the room's location was somewhat inconvenient to access, and there were a couple of comfort-related issues. The air conditioning unit was noisy, and despite setting the heater to maximum, the shower water remained tepid, which was less than ideal. On a positive note, the breakfast offered at the hotel was excellent—plenty of options and all delicious. Additionally, the staff throughout the hotel were exceptionally friendly and helpful, which greatly enhanced my stay. Overall, while there were some downsides, the positives—especially the staff's attentiveness and the superb breakfast—made my experience worthwhile.

Great hotel to use to explore Waterloo Battlefield

The room was very clean and the breakfast was good. They also have a great bar service and plenty of free parking. They only have 2 electric car chargers but complimentary so try and get there early to get one. There is a lovely Bistro opposite and walking distance.

There was no air conditioning in my superior room. I suggest you book and check your room has AC - especially in the hot summer.

Comfortable stay in spacious room!

The room was very wide. Bigger than I'm used to, which was nice for us. Staff wasnice and check-in was smooth, but I did pay everything before arriving, so just the key was handed over.

The ventilation in the bathroom was running permanently and made a whistling sound. Horrible at night. I solved it with some toilet paper and told them the next morning.

Spotless clean, & well decorated high quality rooms. Wonderful location for local battlefields.

Everything was fabulous. We arrived due to delayed flight past midnight, all in need of a hot drink the night person on the reception let us use the breakfast areas to make a tea , a wonderful gesture and the hot drink was badly needed.

No water on the table with the evening meal portions were a little on the small side. The waiting staff were all excellent

Nice property conveniently located from city center, less than 30 minutes from Brussels and 10 minutes from the Waterloo battle site.

Friendly and non intrusive staff, parking available and good size , good location - close to the highway. Excellent food in the restaurant, despite the slightly higher prices i really enjoyed it. That probably made my day after looking at the stained carpet.

The facility is dated. Rooms need renovation, carpets replacing and pillows cannot be stained . Coffee maker needs cleaning/ descaling. This is below Van Der Valk standards I have experienced in the past. I stayed in the main building.
