We loved everything!
- Location: picturesque, with majestic views of Lion’s Head and Table Top. You’re conveniently located in the city while feeling peacefully removed from the hustle & bustle.
- The space: feels warm, inviting, and comfortable, everything you want when traveling.
- Host: greeted us so warmly, she was accommodating, kind, and generous. She and the staff made us feel safe and welcome while we were there!
- Breakfast: heavenly. Better than any restaurant!
When hope to find ourselves in Cape Town again so we can book another stay!
We loved everything!

The property radiates a lovely and cosy atmosphere of Africa. Not only managers Deirdre and Izle provided us with excellent touristic tips, also the serving staff was most helpful and friendly. Located at the end of a dead end street, so no noise traffic anywhere near. Kloof Street with many restaurants closeby. Breakfast was provided with plenty of choice. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean.
No points that need improvement.

I absolutely loved my stay in Rosedene Guest House. The first impressions were incredible - the smell in the garden/courtyard is amazing, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was very quiet and comfortable. I appreciate the fact there was A/C. The breakfast is impeccable and very tasty. The location is also great as the neighborhood is very quiet and relaxing. Overall I will definitely be back as it was one of my favorite stays.
I'd like to say things I did not like but there is not much. The only point of improvement would be the wi-fi speed could be faster, but that being said, I did not come here for the wi-fi so there isn't really anything significant I can add.

Our room was huge, well furnished and utterly spotless. Location was perfect for a quick Uber ride to the bottom of Table Mountain for the two hour walk to the summit. In the evening it was not far to local restaurants and a short Uber ride to plenty more. Felt perfectly safe until 10pm after which I probably wouldn’t walk the streets anywhere in South Africa. Breakfast was absolutely lovely. Fresh food, wonderfully presented and cooked to perfection. All the staff were friendly and very efficient. I don’t think I would bother looking for a different hotel next time I visit Cape Town.
The huge open shower in our room’s en suite could do with a plinth across it to stop the water flooding the rest of the bathroom but that really is a pernickety criticism.

Lovely rooms, wonderful breakfast, breathtaking views of both Table Mountain and City Bowl, quiet and safe neighbourhood - and the best: lovely hosts that move the world for their guests. We stayed there twice already and will definitiv be back again.

The view of Table mountain from the terrace was superb.

Couldn't stop the wardrobe rattling when walking around the room.

What a stunning location, just far enough away from the hub Bub of central Cape Town. The staff were super friendly and couldn't do enough. Breakfast was delicious, the muesli was particularly good. The pool is tiny, just enough to cool off after a long day in the sun. We walked a lot but it is up hill on the way back, Ubers are super cheap and arrived really quickly. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return. It's an amazing view of Table Mountain from your deck chair.
Nothing, we loved it all

The location of Rosedene was amazing. It’s on upper Kloof street so it’s away from the noise of the surrounding restaurants and bars but close enough to walk to them! We felt very safe in this location. Our room was in the second floor with a view of the city of Cape Town out the front window and table mountain from the side. We could watch the sunrise over table mountain from our bed! Also, the free breakfast was incredible! A mix of meats and cheeses, and fresh fruit. As well as, a hot breakfast. My husband and I got the omelettes everyday because they were incredible.

The guest house is privately owned and you can see that years and years of love have gone into the interior, the garden and the service the entire team offer. We felt like we were welcomed into a family. From the moment we arrived we were taken care of. From lost bags at the airport to tips on the best things to do in Cape Town…everyone at Rosedene did anything they could to make our stay wonderful. Thank you so much.

Since we stayed here, we call this place our home away from home in Cape Town. Every single detail at this place is amazing:
1. The location is second to none… Rosedene is perfectly located on a sandwich between the glorious Table Mountain and the beautiful Lion’s Head. From all the windows and patios you will see the absolutely magnificent views of both mountains, which is super handy as you wake up in the morning, check the window and see if the mountain is clear or not to go and explore it.
2. The house is beautiful as well as the room (we got #7). We had plenty of space, great AC, great bathroom and then the endless views of Table Mountain! The mattress, pillows and linen were spot on. Everything was clean
3. Breakfast was delicious, plentiful and the kitchen and service staff were lovely and helpful!
3. The best part? The amazing people that works here. Izle welcomed us and gave us the greatest tips to enjoy our 6 days in Cape Town (even recommended us to get in touch with a professional Mountain Guide called Santie for AMAZING hiking trips around the mountains… we highly recommend you do as well!). Deirdre took over at the reception for the rest of our stay and she treated us with so much kindness and sweetness. The Captain and his wife, all so kind and welcoming.
Finally, we know Cape Town and surrounding bays/areas have great restaurantes, but, if one day after exploring the mountains, you feel tired and in need of great food, there are amazing cafes and restaurants near by. One is Bacini’s (finger licking Italian food!), and then for a healthy/refreshing lunch you have Nourish’d. You also have a mini-mart close by in case you need to buy snacks for your trekking/exploring.
Rosedene is an amazing place to stay while in Cape Town, so close to everything, so convenient and so comfortable. They even have their own parking lot. Thank you all for making us feel at home!

Wonderful owners/hosts and staff! Location in the Gardens area is great, easily walkable to local restaurants, bars, shops (5-10 min), the waterfront, the Table Mountain, Lions Head (35-45 min), otherwise a short Uber ride away. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, breakfasts plentiful, and the 6-7pm free wine with a wonderful view of the TM topped it off.
The week we stayed was really bad in terms of load shedding, with the electricity disappearing a few times a day. The owners were installing a generator and solar panels so should not be an issue in the future.

Our large room was light, cool and comfortable (it was a very hot 30 degrees outside) with a view of Table Mountain from the front windows. The staff were very welcoming and could not have been kinder or more helpful with local information and advice, allowing us to leave our luggage in their care for several hours after check-out and being very interesting and fun to talk to. An excellent breakfast was served on the terrace and the guest house has a lovely, happy, family feel. The location is within easy reach of the Table Mountain cable car and a short walking distance from interesting shops, restaurants, etc. We would definitely go back.

This is accommodation is in the perfect location for exploring Cape Town and relaxing after a busy day . It’s in an area that feels safe and is walking distance to great bars, cafes and restaurants. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The room had the most amazing view of table mountain and the roof terrace and pool area also have great views. The place feels homey and comfortable and the breakfast is amazing! Will definitely return.

Rosedene is so welcoming and beautifully positioned for restaurants and activities. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We loved the gorgeous decor and relaxed ambience, particularly Captain's drinks at 6pm each evening! Breakfasts on the verandah were generous with loads of choice for everyone - a massive buffet of fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts etc with hot breakfasts on order. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were spacious. Lovely warm showers too. We all had views of Table Mountain..very beautiful!
There was absolutely nothing to dislike and we would definitely stay again if we visited Cape Town.
