Property is great , breakfast is good but food could be kept hotter . Your groups are a wee but like locusts . Bar staff could have been a bit more proactive , ask you what you would like , come to your table .. offer snacks with drinks which are not cheap but very nice ..

Surface level great, hospitality, cleanness, quality and attitude zero

The location is excellent, with absolutely stunning views. At the end of our stay, I shared our experience with a female staff member, possibly the manager. While she was apologetic, unfortunately, her words couldn't undo the disappointment we felt during our time there.

We stayed at this hotel during our last motorcycle tour of the season, and unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the image the hotel tries to project. While the hotel clearly wants to position itself as an upscale destination, the reality falls short, especially when it comes to hospitality, cleanness, quality and attitude. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that showing up on motorcycles made us for some of the staff (specially the male staff, the young receptionist, the bartender, some of the breakfast room servers) second-class guests in their eyes. We were met with disapproving looks and a tone that bordered on condescending. It felt like our choice of transportation somehow made us unwelcome, even though we were paying guests just like everyone else. Rooms were fine but unremarkable and a little dirty shower (black fungus on the glass borders), the pillows rather hard, certainly not luxurious or high-end. The style feels more like an okay hotel trying to be high end rather than offering real quality or service. It's all surface-level polish, because of the locations with very little warmth behind it. In short, if you ride a motorcycle and expect to be treated with basic respect, you might want to look elsewhere. This place seems more interested in appearances than in genuine hospitality. The breakfast is okay but it's meant to be good while offering Lipton tea! In coffee cups instead of tea cups or mugs... I leave it there because it's not worth it but you can go from there.

Lovely hotel

The hotel was beautiful, and we had a lovely stay. The beds were comfortable, rooms cleaned well daily, bar and lounges were very nice. Staff was helpful. The best surprise was the second beach off to the side where the dog can join!

The parking was a bit expensive and confusing, namely the electric car charging. It was also full one night when we came back after an early dinner, but the staff helped us get sorted.

Elegant hotel in a charming town with easy access to many islands.

We were upgraded to a Lake View room when we arrived, so we could not have been happier. We had stayed at the hotel 14 years ago on our honeymoon, and it felt like a nice welcome back!

Wonderful lakeside hotel for our family trip -- three generations.

The Hotel Splendid is one of the very best hotels I have stayed at anywhere, and this was the third time that our family had visited in the past 10 years. The location is stunning and the rooms and breakfast looking over the lake are amazing. Swimming is excellent from a great pontoon, or from the beach or in the pool if preferred. The staff at Reception were fantastic throughout the whole of our stay and incredibly helpful, assisting us in finding medical help for my daughter late on a Saturday evening. They also very kindly provided us with a wheelchair for my elderly mother over the week at no charge. This transformed our trip, since all the wonderful cafés and restaurants in Baveno and the ferry station for an enchanting boat trip to Stresa were then all within reach, via a 15 minute stroll through the Villa Fedora Park and along Via Pavia (Pavia Street).

Luxury hotel with fabulous lake views

Luxury hotel. Great staff. We had lake view room – fabulous views. Dinner in restaurant was as it should be in top level restaurant – very delicious. Everything as in 5* hotel (even if it has just 4*). Highly recommended

In rooms could be coffee machine. Nespresso or similar (time in balcony with coffee would be very nice). In Booking.com was not mentioned that there are additional 5% service fee (in other portals that is mentioned, so you should plan 5% extra expenses)

View and staff

Grass and plants outside are plastic. You are charged 19 eur per day to park regardless that you pay +350 eur per night to stay there. No minibar, due to Corona, apparently, maybe also the reason why there are no coffee machine or water cooker in the room. You get 1G free WiFi, so last century.

Exceptional

This hotel is a bit from the side of the Baveno. But, it has pation. swimming pool and private beach, so you don't need to cross the road. It is really classy and luxurious. Classic design makes its impression of luxury and history on the lakeside of Lago Maggiore. Highly reccomend.

Overall very happy. Just a shame that the weather let us down at the beginning of our trip.

Service and food were very good except for the room service where we could not find the menu on the room IPad. Comfortable room with good linen. Great bathroom. Nice balconies. Excellent view from balconies over the lake.

Shortage of electrical sockets in the room and there were three of us each with two gadgets so had to unplug lights to use sufficient sockets. No mini-bar or refrigerator in the room. Having to pay for outside parking - part of which was insecure.

Location is just perfect by the lake, I took the family suite with balcony lake view, it's marvelous, the hotel is beautiful with very nice decorations and facilities, I would really recommend it, the receptionists were very welcoming and they really did great job with helping me knowing the area and activities around.
