Stunningly Grand

The location is amazing, the decor stunning, art works abound, it’s a grand hotel and worthy of the title

Please no paper cups in the room! Provide glades and include wine glasses. Tissues would be good too. For such a quality hotel, we wondered why tacky paper cups and why no glasses.

A wonderful stay in a beautiful place

Everything. Felt like stepping into a golden era of hotels. Fantastic balcony views over the lake. Proximity to town, ferry, walks, bars and restaurants. Secure underground parking. Friendly and helpful staff. Good buffet breakfast. Art deco vibe lounge bar.

The indoor pool wasn’t heated. Not a problem in the summer, unless you have an uncharacteristic week of cold rainy weather in August like we did…

Nothing “authentically Italian”, really was like a cruise ship on land. Which is uniquely its most endearing draw back traits. If you’re ok with that vibe, then this place is for you!

Sofa bed

It is a beautiful hotel in a excellent location. The cleaning staff were very friendly.

We were 3 people staying in a room with 2 very comfortable beds but the third bed was a sofa bed which seemed to be very old and worn out, definitely not suitable for sleeping in. We complained several times. The receptionist, who seemed to be in charge was unfriendly she told us someone would come and have a look at the bed. Nobody came, we complained again. Finally we got a mattress to but on top which didn't make much of a difference (it was folded into two in the middle). We should definitely have had a reduction in the price as we paid for 3 beds but the sofa bed caused sleepless nights and back pains. This is a message to the elderly unfriendly receptionist, act on the guests requests, don't ignore it and a smile goes a long way and it doesn't cost anything.

Beautiful place for a great lakeside holiday.

The location is hard to beat, and we got a better room than expected (booked mountain view, but got a room with both lake and mountain view :-). Everything is taken care of.

Wifi should be unlimited free and fast for all for this level of hotel in this day and age. Now it was more efficient to use my mobile phone as hotspot (there’s good 5G coverage).

Beautiful Hotel but Conference Centric

Great location and beautiful resort. It was a perfect location to catch the ferry from. The room was large and comfortably accommodated our family of four. The hotel grounds were lovely and fun to walk around. There were umbrella rentals available at the front door which was a nice option.

Spa facilities are not inclusive and are an extra fee to use. The hotel had multiple conferences going on with areas of the resort normally accessible to guests setup for a conference event. Some of the conference activities were a bit loud which took away from the stay when trying to enjoy an evening drink overlooking the lake.

Nice but quite expensive

A very nice place indeed, beautifully decorated, in a very convenient location close to the Baveno port and restaurants. But quite expensive ! Beyond the cost of the room, be prepared to spend €25 per person for breakfast. Would you like an orange juice from the minibar ? Simply opening the fridge will set you back by €40. There is even a 5% service surcharge for ... well, for nothing. You're not getting anything in return for this. But you can turn it down (as I did).

Was able to show my husband something new!

Selection was excellent, but the station with eggs and breakfast meats must not have had the induction units on, because they were always cold.

I was overall very happy. Had been here in the late 90’s with TWA.

Amazing lake view!

The breakfast was good, the room was nice and the lake view was totally amazing. Overall the hotel was very nice and clean.

But... Being a 4 star hotel and paying almost 400€ per night, you would have expected more. For example, it seemed, that the hotel wanted to charge extra from everything. Gym would have cost 12€/person, basic sauna also 12€/person, to get glasses to your room was 5€ etc. Well, the inside swimming pool was free. There was also construction work going on in the inner garden, so there was some noise and the outside pools was not in use. And, somehow we got the feeling that most of the personnel didn't like their job and they were not there for the customers. In the 4 star hotel, you would expect great service and very friendly personnel. Because of this, I don't think we're going to visit this hotel anymore, as there are many other options in the near area.

Exceptional

Everything! The location is just perfect! On the lake. With an open swimming pool and private beach on the lake. Boats transport for visiting the islands just outside the gate. The hotel itself is a beautiful classic atmosphere. With a super kind and friendly reception staff members. We took junior suite for a family of 4, and it's was perfect! Beautiful big room with big double bed and 2 additional sofa beds, comfortable, room big and clean, TV, small mini bar, big wardrobe area. Two small balconies make a very romantic atmosphere. Our room was on the mountain view side, and i loved it. Fresh breeze in the morning and very calm. Big bathroom with separate bath and shower. Heated insidepool , gym, spa, restaurant, underground parking. We loved everything about our stay. Our stay was unforgettable.

The location was the main reason for going. The rest was disappointing for the price.

The location is the key feature and the breakfast setting is unparalleled. Access to the lake also excellent. The service from the bar was reasonable but it was good to be given complimentary nibbles with drinks.

The beds were ridiculously uncomfortable and not to have breakfast included in our enormous price was extremely disappointing. The rooms were weird with the upstairs area and the carpets not clean - hotels of this size should not have carpet as they cannot be cleaned. The bed linen was only just acceptable and the throws were also not clean. The only restaurant open within the hotel was seriously overpriced and the food was only just fair.
